I think honesty is good. Something like "I will not be available to hang out to talk in the next couple of months, because i am taking time alone with the Lord." I have used that myself. Even last week matter of fact, to this Christian guy from church who was courting me and that I found is a user and a sweet-talker. From experience, after 3 weeks of you not picking up the person's call, they will get discouraged and stop calling. God be with you.

Christianity and major depression
fromIslam2Christ replied to Lcevallos's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Hi Lori, < I want to tell you that you are not alone. And God has not abandoned you. Sometimes it is only about chemical imbalances and medication helps. Also there are some herbal treatments, such as vitamins and certains herbal teas... but you need to ask around for those. Also, exposing yourself to the sun ( i dont know what part of the world) could help a bit. I have been where you are now and I know it is harder than we would ever know. But remember Psalm 34 verse 20. God bless you. -
He became the weakness of man to display the power of God and deliver His people from their sins. Now all things of The Father are place in His rule for eternity! Praise God for Christ and His rule for ever...... Love Steven That is why nothing compares to Our God and that is where HIS UNIQUENESS AND GREATNESS come from!! In no other faith and no where else will you find such a unique and perfect love from God to His people. AMEN. That is why

Discipline and Forgiveness
fromIslam2Christ replied to Fez's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
By the way I am raising two children as a single mother. They know their limits and they have set boundaries. I don't cut them any slack. I know many single moms who are strict with their children and let them know their mothers won't tolerate any nonsense. I don't take nonsense from any child living under my roof. Period. Father or no father. Some single parents stop parenting and behave like children themselves and expect their children to parent THEM. The love and affection they should be getting from an adult mate and partner, they try to receive it from the child. Very wrong. I know a single mom whose son is always the "victim", "innocent." He got his girflfriend pregnant and the mother said the girlfriend trapped her poor son. He is now 27 years old and getting in touble with the law all the time, getitng into fights and getting arrested,. losing his jobs, not taking care of his child.... and sleeping in his mother's bed because his mom doesnt like sleeping alone. Bottom line is. Do what is right. -

Thank you so very much. Such wisdom. The Word of God is definitely a lamp at my feet. It says it all!! Yes, there is a tendency to expect the man to eventually change. Fez, thanks for pointing this out. The checklist Joyful provided, I will definitely pass around. Brother Joe, thanks a lot for this passage of the Word. That was exactly what I needed to read TODAY.

Oh My. Your comments are so on point! And this is without me even giving the details... that would have made you all even more horrified!! God be praised. This is confirmation. Thank you! The reason I asked about it being un-christian is because of the fact that as Christians we should look at the heart of people instead of looks and social status. But indeed, you all recognized the problem which was beyond finances. Finances are a symptom in this 37-year-old man of something even worse.

I am wondering here if there is any suggestion to this situation. Imagine you are a Christian woman. You meet a Christian man at church. You talk a lot and become good friends, pray twice a week together on the phone. Go to Bible studies together and go to the movies together. Five months later, you realize you have been giving him rides, feeding him, paying for this and paying for that. And you realize he has always had one excuse or the other for not working and for depending on friends. I want to be clear this man has a job but has been getting out of having to go to work by getting medical certificates and such... To make a long story short, the question is: would it be un-Christian to not want to marry a man because of his financial status? It is not about wanting to marry a rich man, given the fact that the woman makes a decent living for herself. But at least not having to completely support a man. Thank you.

As Christians, I think the point is NOT TO PITY, but TO WITNESS and share the Gospel. Muslims, Jehovah's witnesses, Mormons, Unification church people, Hindus, Raelians, Bahais, atheists, scientologists, unsaved people.... well that is what all of us were before we had our encounter with Christ. Sometimes this encounter was facilitated by a loving and prayerful Christian who prayed for us for years. Pity involves a feeling of superiority on the part of the one who pities. That is a bit out of place, knowing that it while we were still sinners that Christ loved us and died for us (Romans 8, remember?). Let us come off our high horses for a minute and realize who we are and who we were without Christ and lets get to work. If the pity for Muslims is so strong, please join Christian groups who work at spreading the gospel in the Muslim world and among Muslims in the West.

Praying for this person, Jennifer Knapp. God is mighty to save, and if she repents, there will be no condemnation in Christ. A month ago, one of my colleagues (who is gay) informed me that he is part of the board of elders at his church ( a Catholic church here in the city) where gay marriages and baby dedications are practiced regularly. He also said that no where in the NT is homosexuality condemned. I had to swallow back my words because I was a bit taken aback at that moment.... rather stunned. I know it is hard for gay people to admit what the Word of God says, but if you are gay and reading this now, know that the Holy Spirit can save you from this and change your orientation completely. There are lots of testimonies online of former gay people who were saved from this by Christ. When we are attached to certain things (fornication, alcohol, drugs, lying, stealing etc), the enemy tries to make us twist Bible words around to fit our own sinful wants. I am speaking also for myself. But that is why the Bible is also called the sword of the spirit, because it cuts through our flesh all the way to the truth.... not always pleasant. But the truth sets us free from bondage in the end!!! Our God is faithful and just to forgive us when we turn to him. He who loved us when we were still sinners!!!

I thank you. The Living Word of God, which is the Bible, is all I need to know. That is so true!!! I have left that church by the way. I received 48 phone calls in 2 days from the "Prophet" and his wife, the "Evangelist"... Almost made me lose my mind. They assured me that in that church they are going to heaven and that they do not want me to leave the church otherwise I may lose my salvation. I am grateful for the Bible that I was able to read for myself and that assures me of what to do and how to be saved. Thank you all and be blessed for all your kind support, prayers, and comments. -

It is now clear to me that I should leave this church. I am back from the service there. I am only praying to God to show me how to act with wisdom in this situation. I feel a bit "trapped" (yes, I know, it doesnt make sense). I trust that the God of Israel, Isaac and Abraham who pulled me out from the darkness of Islam and brought me to the light of Christ will never forsake me. I appreciate the responses from all of you and the fact that some of you even checked out the web site for me. Praise the Lord. God bless you. -

Talking about demons... There is this Indian restaurant that I really enjoy going too. Well, I was told not to go back there because of the statues and paintings they have in there that represents Indian gods (?). Entering that restaurant is basically inviting demons to come into your life. Same thing with Chinese restaurants ()especially if there is a statue of a little fat Buddha. Same thing with any store that has a name with dragon, serpent, mermaid, etc... They mentioned Rebecca Brown's books to me as a proof of what they were saying. I was very scared and asked God to forgive me for going to that Indian place. Now I am putting all the teaching into perspective and things are starting to sound odd. sigh. -

Drossfurnace: Ohhhhh everything you said rang a bell. From A to Z. The thing about leaving is I am trying to find a way diplomatically to leave without hard feelings on either side. Those who have left are mostly referred to as having a rebellious spirit as you said and some anecdotes about them is often shared on the pulpit or on phone conversations. This makes you feel like a traitor or a fake or something.... Sigh. I know I shouldn't feel this way. I shouldnt worry about what men think. Only about God. OneLight: I am very touched that you visited the web site. Yes, they are a deliverance ministry and they like to emphasize that they are a deliverance ministry rather than a church per se. I agree that they have a tendency to see demons in many places. I have seen them really help people mostly. And at first they appeared very Bible-based. Which issomething I admired: long thorough discussions of Bible chapters, and a strong emphasis on the Word, the Word. This new trend of these books on hell and heaven is bothersome though. Also they emphasize holiness a lot. Another problem I am having is that the wife is very nice as a person and so sincere in everything she does. It pains me that she will be hurt when I leave. When someone leaves, it is perceived as an attack by the enemy on their ministry. Oh... this whole thing has made me very tired and edgy in the past week: knowing i should leave, yet anticipating the drama.... I feel like a nervous wreck actually. sigh. God is my anchor... -

I praise the Lord. because your answers have confirmed to me that I am not the one with the issue here. I was feeling like an oddity at my church because everyone is always talking about this and the sermons about these books captivate people. They are even now all praying to receive the Prophetic Dance that Choo Thomas was taught by Jesus in heaven. That dance is supposed to diffuse God's power around, act as spiritual warfare and as healing to people who are around. I have been skeptical about it, but was feeling guilty as well for questioning these books. I don,t doubt that the Lord would give visions to whom He wills. I have no problem with that. But I don't know if the LORD JESUS would do the following: force you as a Christian to watch as your loved ones are burning, return to the pit of darkness night after night even though you beg Him not to take you there any more, make you burn every day for 4 years in the flames of hell so that you can tell people what it feels like... The Lord Jesus said that He gave us His peace, and He doesnt give it to us the way the world does. Also I remember a passage in the Epistle of 1 John that says something like: Perfect love casts out fear. What makes me uncomfortable is the climate of fear that is now being promoted at church based on those books. Everyone at church is unsure of their salvation and is performing all these fasts and recently we had a 30-night prayer vigil which ended last week. I could hear church members saying they are hoping their sins will be forgiven because they haven't slept for those 30 days... I have asked questions to the Prophet and his wife already and if I continue they may accuse me of having a spirit of rebellion or something. I told them I feel the Bible is the final and complete authority for me. Thanks for your answers and God bless you all. -
Lately at my church there has been lots of talks about books written by various people about the Lord Jesus taking them out of this world and taking them to visit hell or heaven. As some of you may know, Mary K. Baxter's A Divine Revelation of Hell and a A Divine revelation of Heaven are bestsellers (since the 1980s). The lady was taken by the Lord Jesus, according to her, over a period of 30 days to visit hell annd heaven. In her book, she gives detailed descriptions of these two places. She also quotes the Lord Jesus word by word. The lady was invited last fall to speak at my church. Another book that is mentioned regularly during Sunday sermons is Heaven is So Real (By Korean American writer Choo Thomas). She also said that the Lord Jesus took her to visit Heaven many times and she even saw her own mother burning in hell for never having heard of Jesus. Finally, there are the experiences of a Korean pastor (Baptize by Blazing Fire 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) about his daily trips to hell (from 2006 until today in 2010) and the visits to hell and heaven that members of his church experienced during a 30-day all night prayer vigil. My question is, how do these revelations fit with Biblical doctrine? Personally, I have been feeling uncomfortable with certain parts of their experiences. The Bible, the Word of God, should be final say on everything. Yet these experiences claim to "complete" in more details the "vague " descriptions of the Lord Jesus about hell and heaven (these are not my words, but that's what the leaders at my church explained kindly to me when I raised questions). Now these stories are mentioned more often than Biblical descriptions at the church. Also, a lot of the preaching focuses on how we can lose our salvation based on what these books say. Example: in Baptize by Blazing Fire, the pastor said he saw many Christians burning in hell for one important sin: spending and selling on Sundays (not keeping the sabbath). Not tithing regularly was also one action that sends lots of Christians to hell. Please, I am a new Christian, but would love to hear from other Christians about this. God bless and protect you all.

AMEN to all of the above! I feel the same about the Christmas frenzy out there. I am happy to see there are other Christians who feel the same way. (At our church right now, we are in a period of prayer and fasting.) lol and to me it fits so well with the occasion. Much love to all.

OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCES VS. ASTRAL PROJECTION
fromIslam2Christ replied to MESSAGER85's topic in Spiritual Warfare
I have to agree with Alan here. I think you should pray and ask the Holy Spirit for the gift of discernement of spirits. Because astral projection is one of the ways in which "other spirits" play with you and gradually will exercise their influence. I know what I am talking about as I used to do these kinds of things and even more... Just pray and God will deliver you from these experiences. With love in Christ. PRAY! -
I have to say that I believe Islam is the BIGGEST DECEPTION and FALSE religion ever created in the past 1400 years!! I was born and raised and trained in Islamic schools and I know EXACTLY what is being thought in there. I praise God that Jesus touched me and didn't give up on me. Fez is right. Jesus is with us all until the end and the Holy Spirit is operating miracles now as we speak in the Muslim world. Astonishing numbers of Muslims are finding Christ, and holding to their new faith in the true God despite torture, rape, and murders. This is by itself proof of the VICTORY of Christ. No matter what they do. Many Muslims are accepting Christ as their Saviour but hiding it from all their immediate families for years to protect their lives. Just last year, an important Islamic clerics announced on al-Jazeera that Muslims need to take action because an estimated 6 million Muslims had converted to Christianity! If Christ could come and find me, who used to be a staunch opponent of Christianity, then He is all Powerful and Mighty Lord... sorry if I am off-topic.... Yes I agree Islam may be the Beast 100%. Loving regards, Priscilla
