I wonder if Jesus came today, and asked us to leave our TV, Computers, cell phone, cars, and jobs; How many of us would do just like the Disciples did 2k years ago?

The most knowledge I have learned about Strongholds was in reading "Free indeed!" by Tom Marshall, it quotes Williams "Do you know that when you habitually offer yourselves to anyone for obedience to him, you are slaves to that one whom you are in the habit of obeying, whether it is slavery of sin whose end is death , or to obedience whose end is right- doing?" In otherwords, that which one obeys one give authority. In Christianity, we obey God,... or we obey Satan ,... no middle ground. I recognize strongholds as things that a contrary to the Word of God, and usually I am reminded of that by a little small voice, and later if I had the salt to disobey that voice feel pretty badly, Convection. these two sentences in bold caught my eye. for the first one, i'm rather confused. given the opportunity to praise and worship and talk to your God.... out of spite, you wouldn't take that opportunity because of the reason the opportunity existed in the first place?? where is that rebellion coming from? as for the second, i'm a little confused on that one, too. what do you mean? are you saying God will bless our government.... no matter what? are you saying that, according to God, the government is always "right"? or are you saying God will not let this government fall? if it's any of these, i would disagree. but as far as Church and state being separate, i agree with you. James: i cannot give you specific verses, but i do know the Levites were separate from the rest of the tribes. they didn't hold land, and i'm not sure what kind of voice they had in what happened. there seemed to be different rules and duties regarding the Levites than there were for the other tribes. is that what you're looking for? We are looking for just that, which is written in the Bible, concerning Kings and Preist/ prophets. When these two switch roles what example is given in the scriptures, and what are the results of these actions? These are the verses I would be looking for as bible study on Church and State ( being the same as Preist and Country/ King). This would aid in a biblical understanding of where America is heading in Gods eyes, and I would be very grateful for some aid in finding such examples. If my religion tells me to run a bank or build someone a house, you have no legitimate authority to stop me. No it very bad for America to have the separation of church and state and it is not at all biblical or blessed by God. In the old testament or the new testament there is no such a thing as the separation of church and state. The only government God Himself set up was in the old testament and God set up a Theocracy. Which was then and still is to day the kind of Government God would have us to live with. There is no need for any kind of any other religion in any other country in the world except for the one religion that Jesus Christ is the Head of. That is why in the end there will once again be nothing but a Theocracy that will cover the whole earth. Why? Because that is the way God wants it. I agree that God gave us free will but man is inherently evil and only Jesus can change that so in spite of our free will man is choosing the way of evil and the righteous who are righteous because of the shed blood of Christ are becoming fewer. Denominations are all man made and have nothing to do with the word of God at all. So if we were to do it the way God has already shown us in His Word the only "denomination" we would have in this country would be none. We would live only by what the word of God says and no other way. It is ludicrous to us a place like Iran as an example to justify your reasons for a separation of church and state because Iran is a paganist nation that has religious police who will arrest, beat ,torture, the cutting off of limbs and the murder of any body they deem has broken religious laws. In the old testament there were no such police force or punishments because God knew of every infraction and no one needed to tell Him. Which is why He set up way to deal with those who broke the law. God implemented sacrificing doves, sheep, goats being thrown out of the camp for a time, sickness, stoning for breaking certain laws and other forms of punishment. Not 50 lashes with a cane for simply sitting next to a man who wasn't your husband in public Just look at what the separation of church and state has done to this country. We kill a million babies a year, we are giving in to and making laws that justify the gay agenda, there are some in our government who are actually trying to pass laws that will make certain scripture considered to be "Hate Speech". They want to shut down Christian Radio which in turn will shut down all of the preaching and prayer we are able to hear. Basically they are trying to shut down the Christian voice and you call that good? What do you think the future holds for us? Separation of Church and State? I am confused about whether the Bible actually says that the Church ( or holy priest) should be a seperate organization from the State (or Govenment) and What about Family? I have heard that the USA used to veiw this seperation of Church and State to Keep the Government out of controlling the Church, and its function in society. That in 1947 the Supreme Court re-asigned the definition of Separation and started a "back turning" step away from God. Does not history show that those who turn their back on God; Family, Church, or Government will fall out of God's grace, and usually fail in whole? God's word is spiritual in origin and have within them deep spiritual meanings not known to the average Christian. When we make "men's traditions" out of the Word of God we replace the spiritual significance, which is meant for our soul growth and enlightenment, with ideas that are related to this world, which is going to pass away. Remember the errors of the Jewish teachers of Jesus' time? Their great mistake was that they took the Holy Laws which were representative of spiritual realities and wittled them down to useless traditions which were displeasing to God. These traditions did nothing for the enlightenment of the people, and worse yet, because of them the teachers themselves were unable to recognize the Messiah who was foretold by the scriptures they taught every day. It is so important to approach the Lord with a sincere heart, unselfish motives when we seek to truly understand His Word. Here's some food for thought. The book of Revelation deals not with the destruction and judgement of this world as so many Christian teachers today preach. This Revelation of Jesus Christ was to the CHURCHES. That means to the Body of Christ. It is a revelation of what is going to happen to those who were prophesied to bring the CHURCH to the same kind of ruin that the Hebrew religious system came to. John was not instructed to write to the world, which would not value the Word of the Lord. But to those who, confessing Him, could, because of much falsity and inseminated tradition over time, sow the seeds of corruption in the Church itself. Jesus said, "He that endures to the end will receive...." Only those who know the truth can "endure". Thus you may know that the revelation was given to the Christians not to take to the world but rather to other Christians. Many Christian denominations have come into the world. They can't all be right if they differ so much. Do not think that Christ over looks this. Judgement is in His hands and He is not blind to the differences in the spirit of the confessions of all of these faith. From our faith we confess. And from our confession proceeds our life's ethic. Our deeds. Our minds and lives are shaped via our actions by means of the things we believe. These things, down to the minute details will surely be examined by God and angels. Believe the Word of TRUTH. Not the traditions. The Word is truth. Doctrines are not truth. They are for the most part, at least these days, derived from TRUTH . Learn and determine the difference for yourself. Present your thoughts to God and He WILL lead you to His TRUTH. OUTSTANDINGLY RIGHT!

Atrocities? The atrocity is the slaughter of inner city youth by their fellow human beings; the destruction of a class from the inside. And the use of the word "perpetrated" is appropriate. There is a concerted effort by the leaders of the community to keep past history in the face of the masses in order to explain away and justify poor choices and lack of character. When you don't have respect for human life, then your own life means nothing. I'm just about ready to give up on this. It is an astrocity when a so called Christian wants to point a finger at another race, using a biblical reference out of context. I am sure God would see it this way. If you continue to fail to see this, I can't help you. It's abuse of scripture and it's totally unChristian. And yes, there are gang members that are white, Black, Hispanic, Asian. What is your point? The Jewish people didn't have to fight for anything. The world rightfully came to their aid to make ammends and try to make things right. With black people, the fight for freedom and civil rights lasted hundreds of years. Prejudice in America still exists against black people and they are well aware of it and I will admit that today, they are choosing the wrong methods. "Living well is the best revenge" and this is exactly what they should be doing, but sadly, how many white people in America would be resentful to see Black people living well? Sadly, a lot. Of course there is. Nobody is denying that. But blacks are just as racist as any other class. It is wonderful to support missionaries anywhere, no matter where. The "black neighbors" you speak of (and whites/Hispanics too) have had many opportunities to stop using drugs, to pull themselves out of the "ghetto." They are kept there by the men, who refuse to support the children they produce; by the women who continue to produce children that they cannot afford to take care of, knowing full well that their "baby daddies" don't/won't fulfill their obligations. The women work 2 or 3 jobs to support their families, while the men (for the most part) sit around with their 40's and their blunts and the "crack" as you referred to. And all the while their so called "leaders" keep saying it is OK, that they are as they are because of injustices perpetrated on them 150 years ago. Atrocities? The atrocity is the slaughter of inner city youth by their fellow human beings; the destruction of a class from the inside. And the use of the word "perpetrated" is appropriate. There is a concerted effort by the leaders of the community to keep past history in the face of the masses in order to explain away and justify poor choices and lack of character. When you don't have respect for human life, then your own life means nothing. I'm just about ready to give up on this. It is an astrocity when a so called Christian wants to point a finger at another race, using a biblical reference out of context. I am sure God would see it this way. If you continue to fail to see this, I can't help you. It's abuse of scripture and it's totally unChristian. And yes, there are gang members that are white, Black, Hispanic, Asian. What is your point? The Jewish people didn't have to fight for anything. The world rightfully came to their aid to make ammends and try to make things right. With black people, the fight for freedom and civil rights lasted hundreds of years. Prejudice in America still exists against black people and they are well aware of it and I will admit that today, they are choosing the wrong methods. "Living well is the best revenge" and this is exactly what they should be doing, but sadly, how many white people in America would be resentful to see Black people living well? Sadly, a lot. The "black neighbors" you speak of (and whites/Hispanics too) have had many opportunities to stop using drugs, to pull themselves out of the "ghetto." They are kept there by the men, who refuse to support the children they produce; by the women who continue to produce children that they cannot afford to take care of, knowing full well that their "baby daddies" don't/won't fulfill their obligations. The women work 2 or 3 jobs to support their families, while the men (for the most part) sit around with their 40's and their blunts and the "crack" as you referred to.
