  3. Greetings Alexandros, I do not believe that any person who claims to be a Christian comes to Him in "pure blindness" or ignorance. It certainly was not that way in my case. I had a personal confrontation with the Holy Spirit of God (the Christ Spirit), and he convicted me of my unrighteousness and God's absolute perfect righteousness. You may call this "subjective" and thus not of any value, but for those who experience this "meeting", they are changed forever. Many people look for a "sign", but this is what Jesus said: Matthew 12:39-40 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. I will attempt to "interpret" this for you. This response was to the question of the Pharisees and Sadducees "give us a sign", meaning they wanted Jesus to do something to demonstrate that He was who He claimed to be. This is in essence what you too are asking. So this is what Jesus is telling you TOO: Jesus died. For 3 days He lay in the Grave. On the third day He came back to life - He AROSE! He was seen by all His disciples and thousands of others before He ascended into Heaven where He is now seated at the right hand of the Father. He was ABSOLUTELY DEAD, DEAD, DEAD. If you saw the "Passion", which was probably not as bad as the reality of Jesus' scouraging and torment and death, then you must acknowledge than NO MAN could go through what Jesus did and NOT DIE. There was NO swooning, no one stole his body, and there was absolutely NO gain for any of the Lord's disciples in spreading the Word that Jesus WAS ALIVE, in fact most all of them died a hideous death. They never got rich, they never prospered over preaching the Gospel, in fact Paul often found himself doing tent making in order to support himself. So there was NO reason for ANY of the Lord's disciples and Apostles to "carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world". They did not foment rebellion against the governing authorities, but instead told everyone "to obey the government". Now, if you want to check these things out, you can prove these things to yourself. The Lord's DEATH AND RESURRECTION are going to be the ONLY SIGN you are ever going to get from God, UNTIL YOU MEET HIM FACE TO FACE, even as I and many others have. Blessings, Dad Ernie <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dad Ernie, all I can say is WOW!! I have never thought of it this way before. Thanks Moosegirl

  7. Woodrow Kroll? Have anyone heard him on the radio? or read his stuff? Is he for real?
  8. Why does Cain think everyone will want to slay him? And what kind of mark did God use? Why would there be 7fold vengenace on anyone who would slay him?
  9. Why did God have no respect for Cains offering? What was wrong with it?
  10. Our church records all sermons, we start recording after the singing, or they pause the recording if there is singing in the middle.
  11. I agree with ya Soulwinner. The sad thing is its probably only going to get worse until Jesus comes back. Who knows what the world will be like then.
  12. Ok, I have seen him on TV. I asked my pastor about him, and he told me not to watch him.
  13. He is the one who wears those wierd kinda suits?

  18. Please be nice. It was just a honest question on why. I have never ever seen it spelled like that. It was not ment for people getting "ugly" on each other.
  19. It doesnt offend me seeing G-d, I have never seen anyone spell it like that. Of course this is my first time being on any kind of christian web site.
  20. Actually X was sometimes used in the Greek as a sign for Christ, out of respect So when people are saying X-mas, they're using it as a sign of respect Thats what I read somewhere also about x-mas. Cant remember where.
  21. I was just wondering why I see people spell God here like G-d?
  22. On Wednesdays we really dont have a special place to go. There are 3 kids under the age of 2. One is ours and the other 2 are not....LOL So for now I have been keeping the other 2 in service with us but soon that will have to stop. Our church is fairly small yet about 200 on the weekends per service, and a lot less on Wednesday night. There are more kids then adults usually one Wednesday Four of the adults I hate to ask because they do Sunday school so they miss 1 service a weekend. My husband is lucky he can multi-task and still learn, I on the other hand.....can not. We do record all of the sermons, and my husband and I keep them and make the copies people need. So I have always thought I can just listen to them at home...Ha that is way easier said then done. I was told that the enemy would make it hard to be with God and read the Bible etc, I kinda thought yea whatever.. but I am learning it is soooooo true. Please its not the same as getting it in person. Thanks for all of your imput. I will have to do something soon before I just get angry and say something I shouldnt. Lets just say in their house the kids run the show....and it shows alot at church also.
  23. We started going to church a little over a year ago. Now my 5 year old probably knows more about the Bible then I do. I am very new to the things of the Bible. There is this family in our church who has 5 kids under the age of 7. The parents teach our teen class. 3 of the kids are old enough to go to kids club. Now we have 4 kids under the age of 11, so 3 are old enough to go to kids club. We have been watching their 2 plus our one on Wednesday's during adult Bible study. I have told my husband I dont want to go on Wednesday's any more because I get nothing out of the study since I am watching 2 kids, he watches ours. I feel cheated since I am very new and want to learn, and this couple and others in the church have been going to church for many, many years but we have to watch the kids. I know 4 of the adults miss Sunday morning service due to sunday school and the baby room, I have offered to help out at times so they could go to service, but they say no. One of them did make the comment, Well I do miss am service, thats why I offered to help. My husband has said that I need to talk to them about not doing it but I cant. They are great people, and I am afraid if I say no I cant watch them then the teens will be out a teacher. I feel the teens need teachers. I guess I feel like I should be allowed to learn and not babysit. Am I being selfish? Please be honest. I try and think what Jesus might tell me but I cant really come up with anything that would help me decided one way or another. I just hate going to church anymore on wednesdays, which causes huge fights between my husband and I. He says its better I am at church to watch the kids then not go at all. Which to me makes no sense really. Am I being selfish?
