  7. http://www.raptureme.com/cgi-bin/rrnews_li...Dad_arrested_af A father who protested a pro-homosexual book his 6-year-old son had been given in school spent a night in jail after being arrested by police. David Parker, 42, confronted officials at Joseph Estabrook School in Lexington, Mass., Wednesday after his son brought home a copy of "Who's in a Family,'' a storybook that includes characters who are homosexual parents, the Boston Herald reported. According to the report, Parker refused to leave a meeting after Lexington Superintendent Bill Hurley rejected his request that he be notified when his son is exposed to any discussion about same-sex households as part of classroom instruction. Police arrested Parker for trespassing and he spent a night in jail before posting a $1,000 personal surety, Boston's WCVB-TV reported. "Our parental requests for our own child were flat-out denied,'' Parker said in a statement. Parker said school officials have continued to tell him he has no right to control whether or not his child is taught about same-sex marriage. "What I am saying is, because of the same-sex marriage law, people are treating it as a mandate to teach the youngest of children. It is not a mandate to teach the youngest of children, particularly if parents say, 'Hold on, I want to be the gatekeeper of the information. It is not that I don't want my child to ever learn it, it is I want to control the timing and manner,'" Parker told the TV station. Brian Camenker, director of the traditional-values organization Article 8 Alliance, told the Herald Parker also asked that his son be pulled from discussions involving homosexuality that arise spontaneously. According to the Lexington Minuteman, Parker spoke at a school committee meeting Tuesday and complained that schools have "unfettered ... access to children's psyches."
  8. This past sunday my wife and I along with my parents went for a walk here in upstate NY. Towards the end of our walk I happened to look up and saw a rainbow around the sun it was away from the sun but it circled all the way around meaning that the rainbow did not look like it was touching the sun it was bigger around than the sun and there was also a dark cloud that was within the rainbow but the sun was still bright and this cloud was only inside the rainbow. I couldnt help but point it out to my wife and parents. My parents are lost by the way but I asked my wife if it maybe was a sign from the LORD because i remembered seeing that somewhere in the scriptures. Ill add some verses here but did anyone else see this or is there an explanation to this or is it a sign? Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. Dan 4:3 How great [are] his signs! and how mighty [are] his wonders! his kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion [is] from generation to generation. Dan 6:27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. Mat 16:3 And in the morning, [it will be] foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O [ye] hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not [discern] the signs of the times? Luk 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; This last verse Luke 21:25 was the one I remembered when i saw the rainbow it also goes along with the sea and the waves roaring with the tsunami. I know the bible says Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: \ But those who are saved dont seek after a sign we walk by faith so to us can this be another thing that tells us the rapture is that much closer? I am very intrested in all of your comments and thoughts!
  9. what gets me is how here in America we value the life of a frog or elk more that a human life. A friend of mine works for a logging company and drove a loader thru a creek and the state fined him 6,000 dollars because there may have been frog eggs there but we can kill thousands of babies a day here and call it a persons right to choose and we can starve a women to death kevorkian was jailed for murder and this is what they are doing to this poor women. God's judgement is quick to come to this nation.
  10. another way for the media to put christians in a bad light.
  11. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0%2C2933%2C149286%2C00.html this is shocking to me! i dont think he is saved but only the Lord and him know that. WICHITA, Kan. — On the same day he was fired from his job, the suspect in the BTK serial killings (search) got assurances he will continue to be a member of the church where he is a leader. Dennis Rader (search), charged with 10 killings over the past three decades, was let go from his job as a compliance supervisor in the Wichita suburb of Park City. The City Council took the action on an unanimous vote Wednesday evening, giving failure to report to work or call in as the reason for Rader's dismissal. Earlier in the day, Rader was visited in jail by his pastor, the Rev. Michael Clark of Christ Lutheran Church (search) in Wichita. "We are not going to cut him off. I could tell that he was relieved," Clark told The Associated Press. "He is still a part of the body of Christ — and that is something some people will have a hard time hearing." In an interview, Clark declined to disclose more details of his 45-minute conversation with Rader, citing confidentiality as his pastor. They spoke a day after Rader was formally charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder His demeanor seemed to be OK," Clark said. "He seems to be handling things as well as he can." Since the BTK killer's first slayings in 1974, investigators have searched for the man who gave himself the "Bind, Torture, Kill" nickname and taunted police with letters and packages sent to media outlets. The Wichita Eagle reported Thursday, citing unidentified sources, that investigators had obtained DNA before Rader's arrest from a tissue sample linked to his daughter's medical records. The sources told the newspaper that the sample was obtained without the daughter's knowledge and that investigators wanted to hide from Rader that they were zeroing in on him as a suspect. BTK had been wanted for eight killings for years, but when authorities announced Rader's arrest Saturday they alleged he also had committed two other murders, the latest in 1991. For now, Rader remains president of Christ Lutheran Church Council, although he will eventually have to relinquish some church leadership positions, Clark said. As far as Rader's job is concerned, Mayor Emil Bergquist told the Eagle that the city planned to tell Rader on Thursday about the council's decision to terminate him, probably through county jail officials. Rader can receive benefits he has accrued, said city attorney Tom Powell, although it's unclear how much vacation time, sick leave and retirement savings Rader has available. Park City hired Rader on May 10, 1991, and he was earning $16.20 an hour. The case has shaken Clark's church since Friday, when detectives arrived with a search warrant and informed the pastor of Rader's arrest in connection with the BTK killings. Clark was so dumbfounded he asked detectives to repeat their information three times. He gave police a list of 10 to 15 people, including Rader, who had access to the church computer. A diskette authorities say was sent by the BTK killer to a television station apparently contained an electronic imprint that identified the church computer, Clark said. Rader used the computer at least once, when he printed out a council agenda in late January, Clark said. The pastor said he had to show Rader how to put the disk into the computer and use it. Clark also said he learned from Rader's family that police had taken a DNA sample from Rader's daughter, but he did not know any other details. He stressed the daughter did not turn her father in as a local media outlet had reported.
  12. amor the pastor in this church is the final authority or so he thinks he is. as far as going to other church members i don't care to cause a stink there it's not my purpose although i dont think you mean for me to do so, i can see where it could stir up problems i have talked to a couple of people who are really close to me who go there and they are really upset and are going to take it up with the pastor. Thank you everyone for all your prayers and advice this has been a learning tool for me I will still serve God and have thanked him through out the midst of a troubling time. Please lift up my old pastor i think he is a decent pastor and person who is just off in some areas that need to be dealt with, God sometimes uses us in spite of ourselves i hope that he does change.
  13. not stepping in it anymore. I do believe God wanted me out of there i dont need to be around that type of preaching but it's sad because we live in a fairly small city and alot of my wife and I's friends go there, and no they are not legalistic with the exception of the pastor and one other family, but the pastor was not that way when i joined
  14. l little off the pastor brother teaches and he is in open adultery the jerk part was correct though. It's just that you expect to be treated badly from the world but not from other christians and it blindsided me.
