Hmmm...well there are many "danger zones" in the world then, because this has happened time and time again in world history.... sorry, but I find this comment absurd.. Meanwhile he is busy appointing people to his cabinet and various other positions such as judge that he might be better able to impose his own "values" on America. In his latest display of "transparency" he and his administration refused to release info on how much his latest trip to New York cost. I believe Israel understands all too well what Obama means by "transparency".

Crippling fear of death
O'Dannyboy replied to stitchy's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Bible Truths to Conquer the Fear of Death Matthew 14:24-33 But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary. Shortly before dawn Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid." Peter answered him, "Lord, if it's you, order me to come to you on the water." Jesus said, "Come!" So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he noticed how strong the wind was, he became afraid and started to sink. He shouted, "Lord, save me!" At once Jesus reached out his hand, caught him, and asked him, "You who have so little faith, why did you doubt?" As they got into the boat, the wind stopped blowing. Then the men in the boat began to worship Jesus, saying, "You certainly are the Son of God!" Not long ago I realized the significance of this event and the telling of it. When we accept/receive/submit to Jesus we invite him into our boat. When we have done so the waters will calm. Just as Peter began to sink the same happens to us. When we doubt and are fearful we become weak because it is our faith that is our strength. Understanding this I begin to imagine God as a huge mirror amplifying our very being back at us. When our faith is weak then so are we and when we fear we become even more fearful. Psalm 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup runneth over. When we love we receive love in greater proportion. We are taught that with but the faith of a mustard seed we can move mountains. Consider the state of your relationship with God and think what about yourself you are seeing amplified back at you. John 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love. The only thing I fear is for the souls of those I love as a result of their relationship with God. If they reject God then so too will he reject them. -
A. Who wears their kid out in front of everyone? That's just poor parenting and tacky. B. We spank our kids. Let your child or a neighbor report you to child welfare services and see how understanding they can be. It's not only in the movies. Children can, will and do use the threat of such things to keep their parent/s in line. When I was a teen I broke something of my fathers, something expensive. In a fit of anger he lifted me up and pushed me up against the fireplace and struck me on the chin with his fist. It didn't hurt but my pride was very injured. Later that night he was in jail because of me. From that point on I was more aware of my rights and less fearful. My sister is now paying the price for her lack of discipline and over protective nature. She has had adult friends and boyfriends living with her that would attempt to correct her children and every time they did (it seems) she would undermine their authority by snapping at them in front of the children. This caused them, I think, to loose respect for those adults and as a result they have become accustomed to talking back and generally disobeying. So many "parents" want to be their children's friends rather than raising them to become adults. As a result my niece is 17 with child with no desire to finish school or get a job and continues to string her male friends along so they will buy her things. Meanwhile my nephew is failing classes and beginning to back talk the adults that live with them. It sets a bad president.

FOX news "Are 'No-Fail' Grading Systems Hurting or Helping Students?" This is a dangerous prospect. First they take away the parents ability to exercise corporal punishment and as a result today's children have a total lack of respect for adults, even their parents. Strangely enough, despite an apparent lack of respect for authority, these new generations purportedly prefer a system of government that is more controlling of it's citizens. I find that very ironic. Now we hear of programs that seek to eliminate even the very semblance of failure in schools. Can you imagine? As if these children weren't "protected" enough now they can go through school, life even, comfortable in the knowledge they don't even have to try or care enough to improve themselves. What's also disturbing is that members of our government would like to reward this lack of ambition by removing their tax burden and possibly even giving them money in a "redistribution" of wealth. Where, I ask, is the incentive for anyone to take responsibility for their own actions? But it goes much further than that. The government has even "bailed out" failing companies who unwittingly loaned money to unqualified persons. I was listening to a radio program Friday in which a seemingly well known economist was giving a lecture. He said something that was both hilarious and profound at the same time. He said something like "The last administration "bailed out" incompetence, now this administration is "stimulating" incompetence." How can these newer generations learn about consequences when they are never allowed to face them let alone witness anyone else having to face them?

WN: Pro-Gay Marriage Hollywood Piles on Miss California - Fox News
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
I feel badly that she lost but I don't believe she feels badly about her choice. This wicked man that caused her to lose and has been demonizing her will pay for his false witness. He should not have been made a judge for this pageant and definitely should not have been permitted to write his own questions or at least should had them screened. The contestants should have been judged on criteria determined by the pageant holders, not by the personal views held by the judges themselves. Had one of the contestants been openly gay and asked the same question it's very unlikely the heterosexual judges would have given her a zero yet this spiteful man gave Miss California a zero for having an opposing view to his own. It's hypocrisy at it's finest. Liberals (not democrats) profess tolerance and diversity yet when someone holds an opposing view they are the first ones to go on the offensive. They are like the child next door who only wishes to play with you as long as they are the ones to set the rules for the games. Just as soon as you protest the unfairness they resort to hurling insults and asking you to leave. They are spoiled brats who lack humility and therefore respect for others. They are the centers of their own universes. How pitiful. -
Woosh! Huh?

MSNBC, CNN Use Tea Parties As Platform For Sex Jokes

Anarchy is already happening and the bulk of it sponsored by our own government. What these "talking heads" at FOX are advocating is not an armed revolt but for those people who are unhappy with the direction this country is going to speak up before it's too late. The silent majority needs to find it's voice or watch the nation they love fade into history as it's transformed into a socialist state as our "representatives" in government lead us into a new age of "world unity". -
Interestingly I don't believe they will flock to these states to live, at least not in the numbers many might wish to believe. It is more likely, as we have already seen, that many more gay couples will run to these states to get "married" only to move somewhere they are not likely welcome. Why? They are individualists who exist to go against the grain. Everything they do must in their minds be in contrast to what is socially acceptable. They are "rebels" and as we are told by the media, "everyone loves a rebel". They will either move back to where they came from insisting that their home states recognize their "marriages" or they will go where their movement calls them and one by one they will conquer these states.
-
Legal equality is not the issue here. Homosexual couples already have equal rights for their unions. The difference here is that they wish to declare these unions as being spiritually equal to those God himself has sanctified. By calling them "marriages" they presume to supersede God's laws, as you have said, and in so doing WILL bring God's wrath upon them and those who "tolerate" and encourage them.
-
No disrespect but marriage is not " the lawful union between one man and one woman". Marriage is the spiritual union between a man and a woman in the sight of God. The legal aspect is limited to the governments that chose to recognize/sanction them. Nothing more and nothing less. God sanctifies and blesses the unions... Not Man.

Here's a quote from the movie "Signs" that (roughly) sums it up. "People break down into two groups. When they experience something lucky, group number one sees it as more than luck, more than coincidence. They see it as a sign, evidence, that there is someone up there, watching out for them. Group number two sees it as just pure luck. Just a happy turn of chance. I'm sure the people in group number two are looking at those fourteen lights in a very suspicious way. For them, the situation is a fifty-fifty. Could be bad, could be good. But deep down, they feel that whatever happens, they're on their own. And that fills them with fear. Yeah, there are those people. But there's a whole lot of people in group number one. When they see those fourteen lights, they're looking at a miracle. And deep down, they feel that whatever's going to happen, there will be someone there to help them. And that fills them with hope. See what you have to ask yourself is what kind of person are you? Are you the kind that sees signs, that sees miracles? Or do you believe that people just get lucky? Or, look at the question this way: Is it possible that there are no coincidences?"

1,130 Christians Reconvert to Hinduism in Mumbai
O'Dannyboy replied to nebula's topic in Most Interesting News Developments
I can only think that these thousands that "re-converted" did so under pressure and likely even threat. May God have mercy on them. -
That's kinda what I was thinking. To the question "Jesus Prophet or Christ?" I would answer YES.
-
We should not be afraid to speak the truth. If people are offended then that is a personal problem. All that we can tell them is that it is never too late and through Christ alone will our sins be forgiven.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,509687,00.html Recently a Judge hinted that the children of a divorcing couple would be "better served" by attending public school. Today he ruled that they MUST attend public school despite testing two grades higher than their age. This is an outrage and if I were the mother I would appeal the decision and sue on the grounds of religious discrimination. This Judge can not pick and choose which laws he is going to uphold.

Had Conspiracy-O's for breakfast, did we? Part and Parcel with being an analytical thinker. Granted, it's not always a good thing but it can't be helped.

Somehow I don't think the judiciary will be the imposing obstacle they portray it as. If these Justices were so imposing a force they would not have shied away from merely hearing the cases brought to them regarding Obama's birth records. IMO these Justices that make up the Judiciary are, despite their robes or political leanings, greedy power hungry lawyers. They should be fairly easily purchased and if ever that fails the potential remains that one of their family members could be faced with an increased risk of accident. Politics is far more sinister than what we see in the news. It's not all horse trading and kissing babies. Many of these "elected" officials were wealthy before they sought office. Why do you suppose they would pursue political office rather than playing tennis or shuffleboard? Boredom? I think not. It's because they seek power and people like this are ruthless in that pursuit. They will say and DO anything to get what they set their eyes on. That being said I would not expect Obama's political machine to have much difficulty "persuading" the Judiciary to play along. Chicago, believe it or not, does not have a monopoly on this "style" of politics. Perhaps if the Justice are open and willing their family's could benefit greatly.

Sounds Reasonable. If they wish to hold Shalit for ransom then the same can be done in reverse concerning humanitarian aid.

So after the war was over what states still had slaves???? At the time of its ratification (the Thirteenth ammendment), slavery remained legal only in Delaware, Kentucky and Missouri. Ya know I just really think that this type of nit picking is really trashy. The man and this nation did a marvelous thing. The only reason we had slavery is because the southern states refused sign on in the beginning unless they could keep their slavery. After further research I have learned that Lincoln was the primary sponsor of the 13th ammendment so for all intents and purposes he was the driving force behind freeing the slaves. In fact emancipation was the main reason he ran for the Presidency.

While Abraham Lincoln has always been my favorite President there are some things about his role in the civil war that have been mischaracterized. It has been taught that the civil war was started over slavery but this is not so. President Lincoln's "Emancipation Proclamation" wasn't issued until two years after the attack on Fort Sumter. Interestingly enough the Emancipation proclamation only freed slaves in certain states and counties. Ironically these were the states and counties that raised cotton.

When a state is free of one tax you can rest assured that they are making up for it elsewhere with other taxes. Texas for example has no state income tax but compensates by having ridiculous "property" taxes. Where many states tax people for owning land Texas taxes certain possessions such as mobile homes and vehicles. In addition they also require vehicles be registered every year. Granted they have excellent schools and roads but nothing seems immune from taxation except income. If you think about it the lack of an income tax probably seems very appealing to those who make a good deal of money. If only their assets are being taxed they can find ways to write them off whereas any source of income like interest on savings is fair game.

I believe they were actually using his comment to illustrate how far left the Republican leadership has swung. They stand to loose more and more voters with comments that highlight the "moderate" views much of the leadership now holds. I believe they underestimate conservatives and how serious we are about such issues.
