  1. They seem to be concerned that Americans will suddenly stop buying imported goods it seems. This is not the case. I think they are over reacting but then again I don't honestly know how much raw material and components we buy from European nations. According to what I was hearing this morning, our economy is the largest in the world and larger than the next four top economies combined. Our economy directly effects the entire world and as our economy suffers so does theirs. Just look at the world economy and how many countries are having to "bail out" banks and so on. Our own mortgage/credit meltdown has had a global impact and so they look to us to fix it. Personally I think it would be nice to see our government more focused on internal affairs and minding it's own business for a change. Our leaders have been sweeping things under the rug for so long it's beginning to wreak. I don't think we should even begin to think we can fix all these problem at one time and neither should or "leaders".
  2. Uh Oh. Look like Obama will have to go and have a chat with Kim Jong Ill and remind him they are on the same team.
  3. The courts had better not override the public's decision again. Twice this has been voted on and twice the measure has passed. This is how democracy works. The judicial branch should not have the authority to override the social majority in a democracy. It's interesting that you don't hear about Gays putting the measure on the next ballot but continually resort to having activist judges override the will of the people. The next Judge to do so will likely find himself needing to move to another state in short order.
  4. This will help nothing. The problem is not their salaries but the Bonuses they have been giving themselves despite the companies they run going in the red and worse having to be bailed out by the U.S. taxpayer at the Governments "discretion".
  5. Despite what other nations think we do actually need to spend the bulk of this money on U.S. products if it is to have any impact. This is not to say that ALL products sold in the U.S. will suddenly be "made in the USA" but that our manufacturers should be buying as much raw material from the U.S. as they can, as it should be.
  6. I'm speechless. This is just like the government paying for abortions so they can justify even more immigration and/or amnesty for those that are already here illegally. Meanwhile they are all busy trying to have anchor babies as quickly as they can and like parasites begin feeding at the welfare trough created for needy citizens. I believe they should change the law to stipulate that any child born to a citizen of the U.S. is "natural born". The whole 'born on U.S. soil' qualification is wearing very thin. It's doing irreparable harm to our economy. This coupled with the fact that our government is so generous with our money it feels obligated to fund abortions overseas as well.
  7. There have been so many locust plagues in recent history that the one in Exodus was not the first to come to mind. Africa seems to be stricken by one of these at least once a decade.
  8. Not a fan of Locusts but I too like Cicadas. One of the few insect noises and can actually sleep to. They are fun to handle too. They make funny sounds.
  9. Without a doubt Israel in particular has every reason to believe that Iran would use nuclear weapons against them. Perhaps Iran would not openly fire a missile on Israel but there should be no question that they would equip terrorist organizations with them. That being the case Israel cannot afford to wait till Iran grows the nerve to face them one on one. As long as Iran has plenty of pawns to sacrifice it will sit back hurling insults and goading as it flexes it's muscle. I think Iran's main objective all along has been, not to attack Israel, but to get Israel to attack them. Only then would they be able to count on the rest of the Arab/muslim world to join the fight against them.
  10. Sounds to me like panic mode. It's not that any of them are starving. It's the prospect of starving that causes them to try and eat more than their neighbor, apparently. Let's compare it to a 50% off sale at your local Wal-mart. People, like locusts, will trample each other to get to the greener pasture before someone else. They may not even need or want the item in question but going with the flow they get swept into a big feeding frenzy. Sad but true. The same thing seems to happen when peaceful protests devolve into riots.
  11. Very sad and maddening. Despite all the anti-monopoly laws in our nation energy companies still seem to have a captive audience. Where I live the cable company has, until recently, been able to stifle competition though favorable legislation. Now they must compete against AT&T and other communication companies for television as well as broadband communication. One problem with the energy companies is that in order to accommodate competition they must lease the grids to their competition. It's not like you can buy electricity from someone else using the same power lines. There is hope though. I read recently that there is technology to create neighborhood sized nuclear power plants. Sounds promising.
  12. Perhaps they will put some of the Stimulus....aka job creation...back into the bill. According to Congressman Cassidy the bill originally had plenty of stimulus but much of it fell by the wayside in favor of useless spending (earmarks) that would do nothing for the economy but put the nation further in debt.

  14. I dread to think of all the wasteful spending that has been camouflaged in this bill. The idea that ACORN could wind up with billions, even millions of dollars to perpetuate voter fraud is a very sobering thought.
  15. Yes. If we (conservatives) are to have a shot at winning the next presidential election we need to get started now. I think it's a smart move to start collecting campaign funds now. I am still hopeful Jindal will run and if he and Palin were to end up on the same ticket we would have a winning team. They should start printing the bumper stickers now. Jindal/Palin 2012!
  16. Knowing where many thermometers find themselves I try very hard to be a thermostat. Many thermometers can have a nasty after taste.....if you know what I mean.
  17. Ah the "tolerant" left. Always ready to tell others what to believe and say. How dare an American speak his mind on radio or television. But it's ok to call conservatives bitter people who cling to their Bibles and guns.
  18. Truly. I too am ready for the madness to end. I can't tell you how much I want for our Lord to come and set things right. I can't help wondering if there will ever be a time where God can trust us to ourselves. At this point we don't seem to be able to take a hint. As Jonathan Doe said in the movie Seven. "These days you can't simply tap someone on the shoulder to get their attention. You have to hit them with a sledge hammer and then you'll find you have their complete attention." I can't imagine the sorrow God must feel to see his children so defiant and disrespectful just as so many parents these days are witnessing.
  19. This is exactly right IMO. These next four years are the honeymoon. If he should win a second term then we will be in trouble. As long as the media keep going as it has he can do as he wishes and the media will hose it down with rosy smelling rhetoric and the sheeple will lap it up. As I have said. I wouldn't give it long before the "good" newz starts oozing from the presses about what a good job he is doing and so on.
  20. That would be awesome. Glory be to God!
  21. I see no other reason for them to end their campaign on that particular day but in a display of submission or "respect" to the new president.
  22. Inhuman use of horrific weapons? You sympathies with a man because his name is Hussein but have no sympathy for those who have had missiles fired at them on a regular basis for years? What do you think caused Israel to invade Lebanon this last time? They were responding to missiles being fired at their citizens. The Palestinians whine and moan because they can't move freely across Israeli land between Gaza and the West Bank and then blame Israel for an Egyptian blockade. Billions and billions of dollars pour in to the Palestinian leadership and yet they blame Israel for humanitarian crisis. Gaza borders Egypt and the West Bank borders Jordan. If there are any blockades it by those nations and not Israel and the only reason Israel might even try to impose such supposed blockades is purely because of weapons smuggling.
  23. Yep. One of his first orders of business is to make sure we are spending plenty of taxpayer money on abortions both here and around the world despite having to borrow hundreds of billions of dollars to "stimulate the economy". I think he is missing the fact that the more people being born the more people there will be to tax.
  24. I don't consider it a denominational thing. I am baptist and I have a crucifix on the wall in my home. As others have said it is a reminder to me of the suffering he endured for our sakes. He did more than merely die for our sins. He bore them as he carried the cross and as he was flogged and when he died he took them to the grave with him.
