  1. The only thing I find frustrating is that a large number of so called "conservatives" were supporting McCain despite there being more conservative candidates, like Huckabee or Hunter, to endorse. From what I have heard only the democrats have been complaining about Nader running since they blame him for Edwards loss. We all know it will be down to Obama and McCain and I believe of the two McCain will garner the hogs share of the moderate vote. But thats just me. Obama is very charismatic and there are enough sheeple out there to make his chances very good for beating McCain since there is a chance many conservatives may not vote. You are correct about conservatives being frustrated and it's all to do with the republican parties choice for candidate. Their choice indicates that the republican party has moved left and is more moderate than conservative, leaving conservatives out on a limb. Yes it is frustrating since there is not a single conservative candidate to vote for. McCain will get most of the conservative vote but only since we have noone else worth voting for that stands a chance. The same thing happened last election when Bush won only only to keep John Kerry from becomming president. Todays political climate ultimately seems to be choosing the lesser of two evils. Se' la vi.
  2. Wishful thinking on their part. Whoever thought this up needs a swift slap to the back of the head. As if the majority Muslim population of Arabs would willingly live peacefully along side Jews. They really don't give Jews much credit when they toss out such stupid ideas. The Jews have no delusions about how Muslims feel towards them and are not about to submit to control by a Palestinian, much less a Muslim "majority". Ploys like this are nothing more than obvious attempts at trying to get Israel to let down it's guard. Just as soon as the Jews permitted themselves to become comfortable the "Arabs" would set on them like a pack of starved Hyenas. As I said, the idea is so preposterous it's insulting.
  3. As long as this continues the palestinians can march and protest all the want and the blockade will continue untill the palestinians themselves are forced to do something about the rocket fire. As long as they encourage the rocket attacks and praise the militants then I believe all of Gaza should suffer along with the Israelis that are being targeted.
  4. As long as Nader is running independant he could win quite a few votes by virtue of people disliking all the other candidates. Rather than not vote some people may actually give their vote away to Nader to make a point. He is not likely not take many votes, like is last presidential candidacy, but he may take enough votes to be thought of as the deciding factor in the election. Just look at how they blame him for Edwards loss. It's like Montey Brewster running as "none of thee above". If he actually came with this message I would vote for him in a heart beat. He has already said he was running to give people the option to vote for a candidate that wasn't speaking out of the side of their mouth. He's likely to be nothing more than comic relief but as long as he makes the other candidates nervous I think it's a good thing. He will be an unknown quantity in what would otherwise be a two sided race. To me he is a reminder of how much we need a third political party.
  5. You will find that when you live for God you will find more resistance and turbulance than if you "played along" with the people of the world. For me this is proof that I am doing what is right. The world would not receive Christ and despite how good and kind he was they wanted to kill him and persecuted him and so I know my faith in him is justified when they do the same to me. We also have to consider that as Gods children we should expect to be chastened for our sins as we go along and for me, that chastening reminds me of how much God loves me. Like a mother who cries as she spanks her child or father also chastens us out of love also.
  6. I'm really just brainstorming at this point. Obviously cost is important. Thats why having access to worthy graphics and logos would help facilitate creating printed leaflets, bookmarks, bumperstickers or whatever. Perhaps George could cobble something together like a password protected forum that leads to a web page with the imiages on it and give access/permission on an individual basis. Christian magzines would be a good start and donations could be taken to fund them or perhaps there could be an article written about it. Who knows? As I said, I'm just brainstorming.
  7. Ever since I discovered Worthy Boards I have been wanting to spread the news and encourage people to come. Sadly word of mouth has not been very fruitful. I have always thought that a bumper sticker would do the trick but I can understand wanting to encourage mainly Christians to visit. Perhaps there is something we could print out and pass out at church like bookmarks or pins we could wear at church. How about T-Shirts? If WB does not want to get into marketing such products perhaps it would be possible to provide the artwork for non-profit reproduction. I would like to introduce WB to the many Christians in my area but word of mouth is simply not effective enough. Does anyone have any ideas that might be more effective then word of mouth that might not require paying to have anything printed? I thought I would be able to get in one of the weekly bulletins but that would take more influence than I currently have. What about advertising in Magazines such as Good News or something. Perhaps Lifeway would be a good place to start? Obviously such moves would require aproval from WB leadership but I am still considering what options there are. Any advice would be apreciated.
  8. Farrakhan is a know racist and will of course be supporting ANY black candidate. "Hope of the world" eh? The man is deluded.
  9. They're not threatening the west, but Israel. Israel has served their time as far as I am concerned but they have yet to receive/acknowledge Christ Jesus. Parts of "the west" do deserve to be punished and are from the looks of it but Iran is not their instrument in my mind.
  10. It wasn't before Fidel came along. One would have hoped once he was gone it would again be reshaped to what the people wanted. I suppose they are willing to give Raul a chance.
  11. I suppose this is where they (Islamic extremists) find the courage to put a timeline on Israels existance.
  12. No election? Parlament decides who runs things? Not cool.
  13. And yet, the predominantly and formerly predominanly Chrtistian nations are now being overrun by muslims preaching freely.
  14. Where not much better here with "super-deligates". Are these deligates corporate moguls or something that their vote should mean more than another persons? Putin has been overstepping ans expending his power base for years now and the world has watched silently in disgust.
  15. This just tickles me. The unhappiness of the democratic candidates says to me that it's a good thing.
  16. I am lucky enough to live in the "Bible belt" but from what I have seen they are right. The U.S. on a whole is pretty ignorant about the religions of the world. Some are even fairly unversed when it comes to their own professed religions. The state of things in the U.S. is a direct result of that apathy and acceptance of secular rule/governance. Just look at how many people have been charmed by Barak Obama. So mezmerized are they that they become oblivious, even resistant, to fact and reason. They seem ready to follow, as usual, the loudest person in the crowd, like lemmings. I think the character "K" in Men in Black said it best. "A person is smart. People are dumb panicky animals and you know it!" As long as the secular/p.c. powers are the loudest in the crowd they will be the ones to garner the "lions share" of the peoples attention. Just as todays parents are failing their children by trying to be their friends rather than their parents, so too are we Christians by biting our tongues fearing that we might offend. Should Christians allow themselves to be silenced, even muffled, we would be showing that our faith is as diminished as our voices. As was said in the movie "Luther", "if we live the word by faith in love and service to one another, we need fear no man's judgment." Inspiring words in my opninion. As Luther also said in the movie, "silence will not save us". Mark 4:21 And He was saying to them, "A lamp is not brought to be put under a basket, is it, or under a bed? Is it not brought to be put on the lampstand?Luke 8:16 "Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light. Luke 11:33 "No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. Philippians 2:15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, ([url=http://www.lockman.org/]NASB
  17. I love it when Hannity gets these "focus groups" together and those who are for Obama cannot site any specific changes that Obama plans to make.
  18. I think Paul Harvey has it right when he says that Al'Sadr is being payed off. I guess once the U.S. leaves the Iraqi government will have to keep paying him as well?
  19. Perhaps the civilians should stop supporting terrorism and violence and send a message to the militants that they are ruining it for everyone.
  20. I think all the fanatcism about Obama is uuch ado about nothing. He may be inspiring to some but I don't believe thats why they are fainting. People who stand for extended periods tend to lock their knees which restricts bloodflow, causing them to black out. I've almost had it happen to me a time or two when standing at attention during military ceremonies. Many times it was because the ranking offer, usually the speaker, forgot to tell us "at ease". Most of us who have been in the military can attest to this. It's simply spin when they try to make it look like they are fainting from over excitement. You also have to consider the size of the crowds, whether indoors or outdoors, altitude/elevation, the persons health as factors that may have contributed to that person not getting enough oxygen. I understand that there are some people who get excited enough to faint. There were all too many women that fainted at the sight of Elvis in person. Need I say more? But Obama is no Elvis. I am more inclined to believe these people were simply on their feet too long and colapsed as a result.
  21. Women can use both hemispheres of their brain for thought, allowing them to multitask better than men. I would assume this also contributes to their being more emotional.
  22. If I am not mistaken, the Bible tells us that the generation that sees Israel restored to the holy land would witness the return of Christ. Of course there were several generations that saw Israel return to the holy land so there is still time for this to come true.
  23. Fidel has been making preparations for his brother to assume control/power. With any luck the people will prevent that from happening. Who knows. Perhaps the U.S. government has also been planning for this and has chosen someone they will support to replace Fidel in an election. It wouldn't surprise me at all.
  24. Yeah. All he could say is how conservative McCain is. While I disagree I will reluctantly vote for the man just to keep his more liberal contenders from winning office.
