  1. You're right. I wasn't trying to debate evolution; it just happened to be the one that I thought of for an example. Any other theory would have worked equally as well, such as germ theory or the theory of gravity. Forgive me for correcting you but from what I understand what you are calling theories are actually hypothesis', which you will test and from these results you will add to the existing theory or, perhaps, even suggest a new one. I've never though of faith like a theory before. I never did that sort of experimentation you did. For me, I was not religious and then I became a Christian.
  2. Thank you Yeddy, for replying to my post. It's nice to be part of the conversation. I think a lot of misunderstanding about the compatibility of faith and science comes because some on the faith side don't understand the science and some on the science side don't understand faith. I have to disagree with you when you say that it takes faith to beleive in a theory. Theories are built up over time through observation, hypothesis, experimentation and rejection or non-rejection of hypothesis. The theories that exsist today have withstood repeated experimentation and have changed as new discoveries have been made. I don't believe in evolution on faith. I believe in evolution because the scientific evidence, so far, has support it and hasn't disproven it. My choice to follow Jesus, on the other hand, has everything to do with faith.
  3. I continue to be mystified by this debate. Maybe this is because I grew up in a secular environment but I have never felt any conflict in science and faith.
  4. Does Jesus Christ Superstar count?
