  1. You can pepper me with Scripture all day long, but that doesn't really address the issue at hand. Most of those passages have nothing to do with what we are discussing. They may not to you, but maybe to other than you they do... And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26) Yes, body is not used in God's Word, thanks for bringing that to light, God's Word states "image", Webster's New World Dictionary defines image as: A representatyion of a person or thing; esp., a statue 2) the visual impression of something in a mirror, through a lens, etc. 3) a copy 4)a) a mental picture; idea b) the concept of a person, product, etc. held by the general public 5) a metaphor or simile Metaphor- A figure of speech in which one thing is spoken of as if it were another. Simile- A figure of speech likening one thing to another by the use of like, as, etc. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. (I John 4:7) Love, Brother David
  2. And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26) God's Word is different than what your words are...for God's truth is in His Word... None of that indicates that God has a body, and it does not necessarily refer to any physical likeness. Nowhere does the Bible say that man's body resembles God. And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. (Isaiah 63:5) Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. (The Acts 4:10) This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. (The Acts 4:11) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (The Acts 4:12) This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. (The Acts 4:11) The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. (Psalms 118:22) Therefore thus sayeth the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. (Isaiah 28:16) Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. (Isaiah 40:10) He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. (Isaiah 40:11) Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. (Isaiah 48:13) That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? (St. John 12:38) The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. (Isaiah 52:10) My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust. (Isaiah 51:5) And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (St. Matthew 19:28) For whether is greater, he that, sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. (St. Luke 22:27) Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. (St. Luke 22:28) And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me: (St. Luke 22:29) That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (St. Luke 22:30) And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands: and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (Revelation 20:4) Behold my servant, whom I have chosen: my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgement to the Gentiles. (St. Matthew 12:18) And have given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. (St. John 5:27) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice. (St. John 5:28) And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (St. John 5:29) I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. (St. John 5:30) And in his name shall the Gentiles trust. (St. Matthew 12:21) Behold my servant, whom I have chosen: my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgement to the Gentiles. (St. Matthew 12:18) And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. (St. Matthew 4:16) And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (St. Matthew 4:17) BEHOLD my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. (Isaiah 42:1) Behold my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. (Isaiah 52:13) As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men; (Isaiah 52:14) (A footnote states: The literal rendering is terrible: So marred from the form of man was His aspect that His appearance was not that of a son of man--- i.e. not human---the effect of the brutalities described in Mt. 26.67,68; 27.27-30; Psalms 22) WHO hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? (Isaiah 53:1) (Read Isaiah 53:All; Psalms 22:All) This is only a part of God's Word, for God's truth is all of God's Word, Love, Brother David
  4. .... very literal.... Amen! I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14 Amen! I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation 1:10-18 Amen! Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 5. you are right, not one in the same, two aspects of the same God. why do you speak in the 3rd person? it makes you sound so very insincere, to say the least. very literal. A great verse backing up the trinity. have a nice night Yes, it is different, it has to do with this God's servant's testimony, to make a long testimony short, this soul received, by awareness, to place God first in all things including speech shortly after putting Dave away, and not trusting this soul for God's truth the heart of this soul asked God for Him to give this soul His truth, and there's more testimony, not now though, maybe later...This soul did put God first in all things including speech, not at first, but finally did after two or three months. Then after a year or so, this soul read in God's Word, Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (St. Matthew 16:24) This God's servant believes that as Dave was put away, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (II Corinthians 5:17) so was the words I, me, etc. all personal pronouns depicting the "old man", That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; (Ephesians 4:22) "natural man", as God's Word states, But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (I Corinthians 2:14) and put on the new man, That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; (Ephesians 4:22) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; (Ephesians 4:23) And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24) This God's servant agrees for now, as this God's servant is not for sure what all is meant by "two aspects of the same God" but may later disagree as this God's servant becomes more aware of what those terms mean... Again, this God's servant agrees for now, as this God's servant is not for sure what all is meant by "trinity" but may later disagree as this God's servant becomes more aware of what those terms mean... From now on, this God's servant perceives that there may be disagreement, hopefully not, but may be, this God's servant asks that both may continually be in remembrance of all that there is agreement on, as a base of continued reasoning so this soul may grow, from reasoning with all others, and for this reasoning may be for the glory of Father Jehovah and precious Jesus... All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (II Timothy 3:16) (A.D. 66) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (II Timothy 3:17) (A.D. 66) Okay, here goes, previously you were asked, And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. (Numbers 21:5) (B.C. 1452) And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. (Numbers 21:6) (B.C. 1452) You previously responded that you believed that Yahweh sent the fiery serpents in the wilderness. This God's servant agrees with you...and that they were sent by Yahweh, and this God's servant believes the doing of that was done by precious Jesus... But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him: and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (I Corinthians 8:6) (A.D. 59) Remembering, And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (Ephesians 3:9) (A.D. 64) This God's servant believes that precious Jesus is the hands of Father Jehovah, Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands; (Ezekiel 20:15) (B.C. 593) And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; (Isaiah 49:2) (B.C. 712) And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (Revelation 19:15) (A.D. 96) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (Ephesians 6:17) (A.D. 64) The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. (Isaiah 50:4) (B.C. 712) The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. (Isaiah 50:5)(B.C. 712) I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. (Isaiah 50:6)(B.C. 712) Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (St. John 5:19) (A.D. 31) There are many, many verses that prove that the hands of the LORD are precious Jesus, hidden...for no man has heard God, nor seen him, nor heard him... All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. (St. Luke 10:22) (A.D. 32) No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (St. John 1:18) (A.D. 26) Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. (St. John 6:46) (A.D. 31) Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto: whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. (I Timothy 6:16) (A.D. 65) No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. (I John 4:12) (After A.D. 90) And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. (St. John 5:37) (A.D. 31) And, And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: (Exodus 33:21) (B.C. 1491) And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: (Exodus 33:22) (B.C. 1491) And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. (Exodus 33:23) (B.C. 1491) That due to St. John 5:37, that who passed by had to be precious Jesus as the hands of Yahweh, and that was not revealed to mankind until I Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 3:9 and other verses... Thanks for hoping this God's servant has a nice night, Blessings, Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. (I John 4:7) Love, Brother David
  6. If someone were to tempt my mothers son, they would also be tempting my son's father. To tempt Christ is to tempt God, as they are one in the same. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. (I Corinthians 10:9) (A.D. 59) And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. (Numbers 21:6) (B.C. 1452) The following is a portion from the Biblos website, Bible for Numbers 21:6 Hebrew, QUOTE Hebrew Transliteration Strong's English וַיְשַׁלַּ֨ח vay
  7. no, I am not confused, I was telling you what I had been saying to someone else for the last 20 pages. and to be totally honest, I am not really sure that you are not Haz under a different name. Look, this God's servant is trying to reason with you using God's Word about something that is quite important, if this God's servant has in any way offended you, For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. (James 3:2) then this God's servant asks for your forgiveness for God's Word states, This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. (St. John 15:12) and as you can see, this God's servant is a work in progress, probably will be a lifetime work in progress... This God's servant always is serious about such issues and does not like to have this God's servant's posts as an opportunity for someone to take a dig at someone else...this God's servant asks you not to do that PLEASE... I believe literally that serpents were sent in the wilderness, I think that the adjective fiery does not relate to flames. Is that clear enough for you? Thank you...absolutely...thank you for your patience... 1452) The following is a portion from the Biblos website, Bible for Numbers 21:6 Hebrew,
  8. I agree, which has been my point to Haz for the last 20 pages it is nice that we agree Yes, with the exception I dont think the snakes were on fire, but that it is a reference to their venom Are you confused? This is Brother David's post, not Hazards... God's Word does not say the LORD sent snakes that were on fire, but stated, And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. (Numbers 21:6) (B.C. 1452) And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. (Numbers 21:5) (B.C. 1452) Do you believe that literally, in Numbers 21:6, the fiery serpents were sent in the wilderness?
  9. Looking at just that one verse there would be no way to know. Lets look at the context, something that is very imporant that so many people dont want to do... 7 Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God
  10. Do you believe Ephesians 3:9 is literal or figurative? And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (Ephesians 3:9) IN the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (St. John 1:3) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. (St. John 1:10)
  11. Thanks for the nice welcome Leka, These verses of God's Word that are quoted are part of God's truth for God's truth is all of God's Word... And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. (St. Luke 4:4) The answer is no, Anyone who feeds a baby is aware of what happens if the baby receives too much milk at one time. The baby could drown with too much milk
  12. Maybe this is the bridge, maybe not... These verses of God's Word that are quoted are part of God's truth for God's truth is all of God's Word... First, using this verse from your quote, When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life." Acts 11:18 This God's servant believes that God did grant repentance to life for the Gentiles as he did his grace, the opportunity for salvation, and many more such things, but God has always called for mankind for action by the bodies doings on all things whether it be belief, grace, faith, obedience, love, etc. in order for mankind to serve Him and not the one precious Jesus put to death at Calvary proven by the following verses, By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (I Corinthians 15:2) WE then as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (II Corinthians 6:1) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (James 2:18) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Romans 8:9) So, God has given repentance to mankind, okay, Now mankind has to receive it, and that is why there is a call for action for mankind, for the body's doings to prove they have received it and are doing it, manifesting they have received repentance. This manifestation of repenting is for all things, by purging and purifying what one formerly did as the "natural or old man" manifesting the 'new man' which is proving having received repentance by the new body's doings. When God calls for His servants to action, that action is what this His servant has to do to remain obedient, including repent...just like love, faith, believe, or anything else God's Word requires for His servant to do...yes? Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. (I John 4:7) Love, Brother David You're right. You're all correct. But my question at the end of the OP was, will you (anybody) tell an unbeliever he must repent of his sins in order to be saved? He'll only think, "I can't do that, so I can't be saved" - and he'll be right about the first part if he's not yet saved, but he'll be wrong about the second part because it's faith in Jesus that saves us and not repentance of sin - the turning from sin and keeping from falling into temptation to sin follows after faith: "Now you are clean through the Word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." (Joh 15:3-5). "For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins," (Heb 10:26). The "go and sin no more part follows: 1. Faith in Jesus. 2. Cleansing from sin by the blood of Jesus. The unregenerate person thinks "I can't repent of my sin, so I can't be saved", and we have to tell him that it's not true - and explain to him/her about the sanctification which is the work of the Holy Spirit, all we have to do is to cooperate by confessing our sins to God and submitting to His Lordship in our lives, for: "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us." (1Jn 1:8-10). This is "walking in the light" because immediately before this, John said, "If we say that we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us." (1Jn 1:6-10). The water is the Holy Spirit - and it's an inward cleansing - and it follows believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and HIS righteousness and HIS sacrifice for our sins, knowing that our sins were nailed to the cross 2,000 years ago. How many poor souls who have never yet trusted in Jesus for their salvation and yet believed the message stayed away only because they thought that they must turn from their sins in order to be saved - because we tell them that? I don't know how many times I've told people that, I'm ashamed to say. Anyway, the OP quotes a man who shows that the N.T meaning of "repent" is to "change your mind" and is always linked to faith, not turning from sin. The "turning from sin" part follows naturally. The law (10 commandments especially) shows us our sin - faith in Jesus is the solution - not "repentance from sin" by human effort. Lekh By the way, welcome to Worthy, brother David and all the people who posted in this thread who only joined Worthy recently No, no, no Lekh...There is no bridge here...This God's servant will post a reply tomorrow... This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. (St. John 15:12) Love, Brother David
  13. (I John 4:7) Love, Brother David
  14. With all of the discussion that has taken place, has all of God's Word been considered? For, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. (Isaiah 55:8) For my thoughts are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) not all things are revealed to mankind and that's perfect for this God's servant... All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. (St. Matthew 11:27) Nice posts, Brother Joe, maybe one should read Brother Joe's posts again, Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. (I John 4:7) Love, David
  15. Amen, nice post brother, Amen...
