  1. @Marathoner How do you determine that the voice you are hearing is from g/God?
  2. To be of s/Spirit one's heart is joined with the things of value that reside in God's heart and the flesh and the world God holds nothing for either... 1 John 2:15 (KJV) [15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
  3. sorry but this is not your chair alone! 1 Corinthians 8:2 (KJV) [2] And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. As this verse indicates >no man< has perfect knowledge and won't till we leave this place so you don't get the dense seat alone! we all own a chunk of it... I was referring to the fact that none of any of this will be retained in the eternal state Isaiah 65:17 (KJV) [17] For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 1 Corinthians 13:8 (KJV) [8] Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. Revelation 21:1 (KJV) [21:1] And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. [5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. As making all things new I take very literally for the Isa passage says the former things will no longer come to mind... Thus, fulfilling the perfect unchanging will of God from all eternity -sin never had place in His eternal realm... and why we are considered in fulfillment of this verse below as well Matthew 19:14 (KJV) [14] But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Is it not the good son to not look back to what is being burnt up and forgotten, a major understanding of Lot's wife, but forward to that which shall never end... part of that flesh verse s/Spirit stuff we talked about earlier... Luke 9:62 (KJV) [62] And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. and why John warns us of this 1 John 2:15 (KJV) [15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. As we know ->that which is kept is of God and that which is not kept is not of God...
  4. The creation introduces to all mankind that God 'IS'... Romans 1:20 (KJV) [20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: However, His written Word, the work of The Holy Spirit, leads us in The Who of that 'IS'... John 17:17 (KJV) [17] Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 2 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) [15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
  5. I think that was a good point! And as in s/Spirit would be the eternal keeping yet the absolute of everything of here, creation, is being taken away and forgotten leaves only child like ignorance of what that will exactly be... 1 John 3:2 (KJV) [2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
  6. God has clearly outlined His desire unto all mankind toward His leading of man John 12:46 (KJV) [46] I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. [47] And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. [48] He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. [49] For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. [50] And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak John 17:17 (KJV) [17] Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth John 8:32 (KJV) [32] And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. His Word is established and complete Revelation 22:18 (KJV) [18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: [19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Clearly the sufficiency of God's Word is stated unequivocally 2 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) [15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
  7. A good online soure is Got Questions Bible Questions Answered | GotQuestions.org Their soteriology is skewed toward Calvinism ... where I believe the solid teaching of soteriology is found here SOTERIOLOGY 101 – A Professor and former 5-Point Calvinist Discussing the Doctrines of Salvation, Election, Predestination, and God's Amazing Grace. The matter of fact is a proper hermeneutic, tool to arrive at an exegetical interpretation, which will produce The Word of God leading us and not man using his ideas on The Word of God... How I know this is that Scripture speaks very plainly to this John 12:46 (KJV) [46] I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. [50] And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
  8. I have come to the conclusion not to rely anything on the flesh as it is not convertible Gal 5... Romans 7:25 (KJV) [25] I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 8:1 (KJV) [8:1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV) [12] Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. It cannot be made perfect but it can be denied if one remains in The s/Spirit... 1 John 2:16 (KJV) [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. One remains in the s/Spirit when keeping one's mind stayed on the Scripture and desiring in love produced by knowing and desiring to please God...
  9. I'm sorry bringing one's body under obedience unto Scripture is not metaphor... it is plain English grammatical fact... it is a practical way God has given us to return love back to Him by denying our flesh and living to Scripture...
  10. Absolutely! The finishing rule of hermeneutics- taking any verse in immediate context, chapter context, book context, testament context, the whole of God's Word context.... no wonder God calls this work! The work seems inexhaustive indeed...
  11. Looking over the whole of the verse and word studies -none go with the word which indeed is what derived from the eye concept... However, the majority of NT translations do not follow that derivative trail perhaps because of which directs from the derivative eye to that of body... Undoubtedly the easiest part of the body to sin with is the eye... and when Jesus disclosed this Matthew 5:27 (KJV) [27] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: [28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. [29] And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. [30] And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. which conjoins the concepts being spoken of here in this thread... The Catholics certainly practiced the beating of oneself to become obedient to what they thought the verse means BUT the error was flesh correcting flesh... The s/Spiritual battle is of course dying to the use of flesh and living within the confines of s/Spirit which reckons all flesh and this world as dead and not to attach ourselves any longer to either... a very difficult road indeed!
  12. seeing how John is part of the church and Elders are present your argument is moot as far as I am concerned... the real seal on the whole is God's own promises 2 Corinthians 5:6 (KJV) [6] Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: [7] (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) [8] We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. John 14:2 (KJV) [2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. As the Father is never stated as dwelling on the earth this can only be referring to heaven...
  13. Revelation 4:1-5 (KJV) [1] After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. [2] And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. [3] And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. [4] And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
  14. may I ask how long have you known The Lord and studied His Word to us?
  15. no wonder people try to make this a parable... the truths are eye opening!
  16. Your errors are abundant in not rightly dividing the Word 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) [15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. What is the major division from Genesis 1 to Genesis 7?
  17. You say somethings from here will be remembered... Bible says no.. this is the dispute and we must agree to disagree... thanks for the discourse...
  18. knowledge for one 1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV) [9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 8:2 (KJV) [2] And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. Righteousness another Romans 3:10 (KJV) [10] As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 1 John 1:8 (KJV) [8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
  19. The ignoring part is not true since the site does allow people to be placed on ignore by the individual... I usually ignore when both points have been given and then only repeated rhetoric... what benefit is that... I am here to discuss Scriptural truth that is all I am concerned with in this life... I choose to glean what the Word, Itself, is saying... for that is God speaking to us all! I have already quoted the Scripture that states it is incomplete and you quoted what will be done with that 1 Corinthians 13:10 (KJV) [10] But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. It is stated by Scripture... and that always settles the questions I have on anything... When Scripture clearly and pin pointedly speak to a subject that becomes my thinking always...
  20. It is clear no point in quoting you as I am dialoguing with my own thoughts on the thread,... I think you think because it is your thread all reply must be to you... not so unless I quote you!
  21. if there aren't quotes then I am commenting to the thread as a whole ...
  22. shouting is caps... enlarged text is for emphasis to what is being said...
  23. I always quote what is said and then give why I dispute or agree with what is said... I am not locked into anything but that which I quote and reply... this might help you in dialogue with me from here on out...
  24. Interesting how Scripture says otherwise as has been quoted plainly... and you ignore it... even when God instructs us we can't Isaiah 28:9 (KJV) [9] Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. [10] For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
  25. Peter asked pin pointedly this 2 Peter 3:11 (KJV) [11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, [12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? [13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. God is about completeness >yet< here and now is slated as incomplete and laid out for total and complete destruction The incompleteness of the now: 1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV) [9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 8:2 (KJV) [2] And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. So, one must ask if nothing is known as it should be how can this be the perfect? I am concerned with the spirit that indicates the perfection of here and now because it is simply not supported by Biblical text!
