All opinions are welcomed but not all are perfect. Lets make this truth be known now. No single bible is perfect in translating from Aramic, Greek, Old english to modern english. Id rather read a book by Spurgeon or Wittfeild or.....than a Living bible. Pilgrims progress is not in the bible yet is very inspireing, No extreemly inspireing. And there are thousands of Holy spirit inspired works and books and writeings that are helpful. And the New jerusalem bible is not acsepted by the popular majority of protastants ? Please. The so called perfect KJV is flawed with many mistakes. 1st john 5:7..isnt even in the origanols. And I could go all day with rants. What good does it do to have a bible(inspired of God) and disobey it ? Ive been on forums where members acuse others of Spiritual adultery if we read any other book but the bible. Hog wash. There are millions of Christians around the world that never even see a bible and are better Christians than we. Dailey people are recieved christ and have no idea what a bible is. 2nd-ly, The bible contains Gods Words and Mans(many). We are to rightly devide it. No bible is perfect. It is the Holy Spirit that gives life to the word. The Apocrypha was sandwiched KJV between the Old and New Testaments as an appendix of reference material. This followed the format that Luther had used. Luther prefaced the Apocrypha with a statement: "Apocrypha--that is, books which are not regarded as equal to the holy Scriputres, and yet are profitable and good to read." Thank you K, Great post for starters. Im new today. I was born again as a teen but fell away. For years I roamed around but God restored me in 96. I just want to say about true salvation: "Ye must be born again". Its a happening event. Not just takeing communion as so many believe to be life giving. If communion were salvation then any one could take it without a pure heart. True Salvation is a covenant agreement you make with Jesus Christ and then proclaim to all. Then, water baptism should follow as a sign of obedience. I also incourage believers to take the Lords supper often , By faith as Jesus asked us to. Do this in memory of me.
