If God were walking among us as human, would he be Liberal or Conserva
PeterH replied to luke22ministries's topic in Theology
Honestly, since he is going to destroy all the nations and bring them under his rule I can't imagine he's too happy with either party. As far has someone with differing political ideals, the main things in the bible are the plain things. As long as they don't try to change those main things then I don't have a problem but if they do then I feel that we should correct them so they don't start to drift away following false doctrine. -
Whats with all this "Green", "Organic" and "Natural" stuff? Seriously, I just got a french fries from a fast food joint and on the side of the package it states the fries are "Natural-Cut" ... what is that? what does that mean? Makes me really worried about the other fries that aren't naturally cut. Will it come out later that Iran really isn't trying to make bombs but instead is making the world's largest nuclear powered potato slicer? I really don't want to offend anyone I just don't get it.

Thanks for answering. I guess the clarification "she" wants is the same clarification I want since she asked the question. What does Obama mean by "contiguous" Palestine, given the definition of the word? I doubt even he knows what he means by that at this point in the game. He probably added that to his speech to tickle the Arab's ears a bit.

Praying about this. If they can take away the your rights based on your age then what's next?

OneLight, I thought the saying was "if at first you don't succeed, then skydiving wasn't for you."

Do you know what that policy is? Which policy? The one he says or the one he acts on?

Jesus also said: John 14: 15

I loved this show as a kid and I saw it on netflix awhile back and started to watch it. Now I'm very worried about what was actually in those cookies my mom made for me when I was young.

Will the righteous suffer the wrath of God against a nation?
PeterH replied to nebula's topic in General Discussion
The rain falls on the just and unjust alike. To live is Christ to die is gain. Do not worry what tomorrow will bring. If God judged this nation and I died I don't know if my neighbor is saved. And I should find that out. -
Who are we to question God? What is the purpose of any sacrifice? Did He consult man about our opinion of the cross? How is this questioning God, this is a honest question. Frankly its a good one. I don't know the answer, but I wont spit on the question. Sometimes its best to say I dont know. I've heard it explained once and I'll probably butcher it trying to repeat the explanation for the 1000 year reign. Anyway, it was something to the accord of God is giving us so many years to live under the law with a perfect ruler to show us that we would still rebel against him.

Why's a Mule got to be 'rented'? Sorry don't want to side track this thread but I read your post and instantly heard Edie Murphy's voice from Shrek in my head.

To be fair shouldn't we use Israel's time zone unless Camping actually specified one to use. But is the 21st be almost over according to the day count with Jewish custom (ie day beginning at sun down) or would the 21st be starting in 15 hours or so since its 3 am there right now?

So who attacked who in 1967 when apparently Israel had the correct borders for peace?? Think it might be wise to start praying for the safety of our families and loved ones in the US. God is about to judge this nation and cut it to pieces.

T.D. Jakes Blasts Graham for Questioning Obama's Faith
PeterH replied to wyguy's topic in General Discussion
This is the problem with us Christians today. Well, I will say how we express the Gospel. What does it mean to win someone FOR Christ? How is that done? I may be splitting hairs, you may have a different meaning in mind, but from this viewpoint we horrible express the gospel. The gospel that we preach now-a-days is weak. We preach the Heaven and Hell gospel, the only reason why Christ is mentioned is so they understand He gets us out of Hell. Paul states: I preach CHRIST AND HIM crucified. The gospel is about a Person not a place. So it doesn't matter who says all roads lead to the same place (Heaven). We point people to a Person. Ruck1b, that is a very dangerously slippery slope. Yes the gospel is about a person, Jesus. John 14:6 Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. Where is the God the Father? Psalm47:8 God reigns above the nations, sitting on his holy throne. and where is this throne? Revelation 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. So God the Father is on his holy throne in Heaven and the only way to him is through Jesus then saying all roads lead to heaven is saying Jesus lied. No its not, Jesus states that He is the Way to the Father..once again a Person. The slope is only slippery when the focus is on a place. Yes it is. You can slice and dice it all you want but the bottom line is Heaven and Hell are real places. Heaven is where God is and will be eternally. The people whose names are not found the book of life will be cast in the lake of fire Revelations 20. There are many ways to the lake of fire but only one way to God who is in heaven eternally. To say anything else is to say Jesus died in vain. end of story. -

T.D. Jakes Blasts Graham for Questioning Obama's Faith
PeterH replied to wyguy's topic in General Discussion
Obama is a very public leader and as a leader people follow him. When he proclaims I'm a Christian then says things like this : "So, I have a deep faith," Obama continues. "I'm rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people. " ( Obama flashback: There is no heaven or hell, all ways lead to the same path ) people will follow him as a leader and adopt that same line of thinking. If we as true Christians don't say "Hey wait a minute!! That's not True!!" then how can we say we're concerned about winning people for Christ? If a leader is professing to be Christian ie having a personal relationship with Jesus the Christ and does not bear the fruits in his life that entails then we need to be vigilant to let people know that what that leader is doing is not an example of Christ. And I say that concerning all leaders. The men you mentioned may be good men, Obama may be a good man, but does not give them passes to mock God. Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. -
I believe he is referring to 1 Cor. 3:12-15 "Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire." (NKJV) What does this have to do with hell? here is the NLT 12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials

I'd prefer May 18th, 19th, or 20th ...

Would Jesus have attended a pro-rights rally?
PeterH replied to nebula's topic in General Discussion
The spirit of the question is if He would participate in the rally doing the rally thing - not if He'd be there as a non-participant. Ok.. So when I think of a rally I think of a bunch of people that have a common goal getting together, firing each other up about the goal and trying to convince others that their goal is good. Kind of sounds like what he told us to do while he was preparing a place for us. So for all the over all rally thing sure why not but specific rallies that have agendas that are contrary to what Jesus taught, no. -
Do you see the Bema Seat as The Great White Throne Judgment? No and I don't want to step on my own feet trying to explain my view here so I will just provide a link to a study done by J. Hampton Keathley, III published here. http://bible.org/article/doctrine-rewards-judgment-seat-bema-christ

These people will be at the great white throne judgement where everyone will be raised back to life and those who did not receive God's mercy will be judged. What causes you to say that? Also, what lawlessness did they work? I might be misunderstanding what you're asking. When are you say the Seat of Christ are you talking about the sheep and goat separation? The Judgment Seat of Christ, where all saints will be judged according to our works. Ah Ok. So yes these people of those choices will be at the great white throne judgement. The saints will not be told "I do not know you" by Jesus. The saints will have their works judged to see what their rewards will be and some will have all their works they thought were good destroyed and they will not receive too many rewards and escape hell by the slimmest of margins. The people that Jesus says he doesn't know will be cast out where there will be weeping and gnashing teeth.

You still havn't actually answered my questions, you are answering based on what you want to say. Here are my questions again. What judgement is this? Is this the Judgement Seat of Christ, or the Great White Throne? Two different judgements with two different outcomes...dont you agree? I would also ask what lawlessness did they work? Also, what is the will of the Father? These people will be at the great white throne judgement where everyone will be raised back to life and those who did not receive God's mercy will be judged.

I think Jesus would probably go to these rallies but not to support their causes. I think he would go to simply find his lost sheep. -
