  1. I believe the bible states animals that lived on earth wont be in Heaven so I doubt God will bring to life stuffed toys. I believe animals will be there not animals that lived and died on earth. former things will not be remembered just what I believe not attacking your views.
  2. https://www.spuc.org.uk/education/abortion/human-development#second A day by day look at conception I choose day one ( second paragraph ) even though day two and three are convincing day one is enough for me.
  3. The biggest difference between the Mosaic covenant and the NT is that the Mosaic covenant is written to a nation and the NT is written to diverse people, who are not a 'nation'. The Children of Israel is an ethnic group from common descendents (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob). God gave them land, in scripture called the land of Israel (the land belonging to the children of Israel). The Mosaic law includes laws needed to serve God while forming a government to run the land. The Mosaic law includes a court system, and the penalties for breaking the various laws, including the death penalty. God also told that the children of Israel was to make war on those who attempted to attack their land and people. Defending the land and the people from foreign invaders is a function of the government of the land. Since NT Christians are made up of various people from all differing ethnic groups and living in various land/countries. NT Christians as a group, were not given land by God, and therefore are not responsible as a group for protecting the land, like the children of Israel. Since courts and armies are not a part of the NT people, because the NT people were not given a land/country of their own, the NT does not give any laws concerning armies or courts. That does not mean armies or courts and death penalties are bad. It means it is the responsibility of the various governments to handle these necessities. In scripture, there were Christians who were professional soldiers (Centurians etc.) Being a soldier was not a sinful or forbidden occupation. In the future, depending on how you interpret the end times events, Jesus will return to reign on earth as King. As a King, He will have an army. Jesus returns with His army, and they defeat the enemies. But getting revenge is not the question. I doubt anyone here would think its acceptable to seek revenge with force. Its whether or not it is acceptable to use force to defend yourself or the lives of others. Although that brings up a point. Is it seeking revenge to press charges against someone for robbing you or assaulting you? Is that scripturally acceptable? To me this is simple. Remember Romans 12:19 above or all the other verses about not following an eye for an eye. If you hit me and I hit you back then I have retaliated against you or avenged myself. if you break into my home and start to rob me and I catch you and kill you with a gun, then I have retaliated against you or avenged myself. If you assault my family and I take out a gun and kill you, then I have retaliated against you or avenged myself. I am sure there are some that will spin it the other way. But the fact of the matter is, If we are attacked and we retaliate or avenge ourselves then we have went against scripture. Avenge and protecting oneself are not the same thing. Avenge has the thought of repayment for a wrong. Protection does not have this thought.

I understand that a lot of people believe this doctrine that Jesus taught violence, but it is not the Gospel I read. men had weapons before Jacob was named Israel, I do not see God saying to his followers ( Israel ) should live without weapons. Naturally in the mind of a follower of God or Jesus a weapon was for food and protection, killing with weapons are not part of the mindset.
  5. I'm not sure what the "as Christians" really means...... maybe I just dense this afternoon. Our government employees and office holders have always lied to us so nothing really is different or changed other than we are in a position to know it now...... But to answer your question in general no we should not submit to this government at all..... for in reality "WE" are the government. The folks we elect and sent to Washington are there to represent "US". Edited to add that I posted as though we were speaking of the US government..... Australia does have a different constitution. I see our government trying to do away with Christian beliefs/guidelines and eventually Christians. So we should not Pledge Allegiance to this new thinking. somehow we need to unite and try to turn things around. I support a group that I feel are doing this, not sure I am allowed to give them a plug or not. Example would be abortion; we as Christians should not allow the government to force us to pay for it. we must unite.
  6. Thank you Willamina for responding to my confusion, I am trying to get to there and need guidance in this area. I will study all these verses you list and hopefully come to a better understanding. Faith I have understanding is harder for me.
  7. Are we to submit to a government that deliberately lies to us as Christians?
  8. I can see the little cottage setting near the trees by the stream, good job must have taken you a while to do this work.
  9. your second thought, I think is wrong, which makes your first thought right.
  10. I just changed my about me page a couple days ago. And the four posters here is a good example of what I said there. Thanks I need to go do some reading in the books you all have listed here thanks again.
  11. My last doctor was the best I've ever had. You went into examining room and sat down to wait a few minutes then he came in sat face to face asked if we could pray then prayed for guidance from God and healing for me. after the exam he tried natural products if something else was needed he could write a prescription. I moved though and am looking for another good doctor it would be nice to get another Christian doc. My dentist is a Christian it just makes going to doc a better experience.
  12. 12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade , neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed : it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. ~ Ezekiel 47:12 My thoughts are one should try natural products like is mentioned here and if it does not work for some reason go to a regular doc. I have used many natural products that work.
  13. Most states have codified the common law rule that a warrantless arrest may be made by a private person for a felony, misdemeanor or "breach of peace".[1] A breach of peace covers a multitude of crimes in which the Supreme Court has even included a misdemeanor seatbelt violation punishable only by a fine. The term historically included theft, "nightwalking", prostitution and playing card and dice games
  14. 12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade , neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed : it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. ~ Ezekiel 47:12 Ezekiel 47:12 12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade , neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed : it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. ~ Ezekiel 47:12 Some may not have read this verse. Some my ignore this verse. Some may incorporate into their life. What are your thoughts about this verse? How do we relate it man made medicine ( chemicals)
  15. While we are under the New Covenant, the New Covenant and the New Testament are not entirely equal. The book of Matthew is primarily written to the Jewish people who were under the Mosaic Covenant. So much of Matthew is discussing an interpretation of the Mosaic Covenant. The Jewish people expected the Messiah would expound on scriptures and the law. Until Jesus death and resurrection, the New Covenant was not in force, and Jesus had to be obedient to the laws of the Mosaic covenant, born a Jew, or He would have been a sinner, as He was born under the Mosaic covenant. Matthew 5:38-39 You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth'. 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also Jesus is expounding on the Mosaic law and the understanding and interpretation as well as the application of the Mosaic law. The Mosaic law goes into fine detail about various things, such as a person who damaged or hurt a person. If a person damaged or hurt and animal etc. The penalty for this kind of damage or injury must be of equal weight. If a person kills your ox, the penalty must be in equal proportion. And eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. If a person killed your ox, then equal proportion would be paying for the value of the ox, or replacing the ox. If you put an eye out of the ox, that would devalue the ox, so a reasonable reparation must be paid. This is entire discussion is in reaction to crimes and judges decisions in court cases. The Mosaic covenant included how to appoint judges and taking cases to the judges, what is sufficient evidence etc. There are sections of the law which allow for a family appointed avenger in very narrow circumstances but, generally speaking, the Mosaic law did not allow for revenge. Even to appoint an avenger required the judges to determine that the violation of a particular law allowed for the avenger, and that avenger had limitations according to the law. Turning the other cheek is saying, do not seek personal vengence, but allow the courts to judge the matter. The New Covenant is of course different then the Mosaic covenant, as it does not allow or include the appointment of judges for a court system within Christianity. A Christian is not to sue another Christian in civil court if they accidently damage our ox. Ideally, we should be able to work it out, and if not, other Christians are to judge the matter, and not secular courts. But, we are to be obedient to the secular laws of the land. If a person steals, that is against the law. If a person murders, that is against the law. These are matters for government law and the courts. In the U.S., the law varies by state, but in most states, the law says that a person who illegally enters a home with a weapon, the owner of the home is permitted to defend themselves, their family and their property, as long as they are not using excessive force. But, the verse you are quoting is not NT law as opposed to OT law. It is an explanation of the correct application of OT law. It mentions, what you have heard. What the people heard was the application of the Mosaic law, and Jesus is refining that interpretation. In the NT, several different members or leaders of the Roman army are mentioned. These centurions and others came to Jesus and believed on Jesus. Jesus granted their requests. The officers in the Roman army of course carried weapons, and financed those beneath them, providing weapons. Jesus never told them to stop carrying weapons or to change professions. In the early church, there were many members of the Roman army which became Christian. No where in scripture does it say to cease being a member of the army. I wish I could remember, but I need to search some books to find which one, but one of the cities visited by Paul was a city known to be a big retirement community for ex-officers. In the NT, and in the history of the Church, it is standard practice that when a person goes out as a missionary, they go un-armed, as their primary purpose is to share the gospel. They are called to put their lives on the line, for the sake of the gospel. Hundreds of missionaries have died on the mission field, killed by those to whom they are preaching the gospel. Most missionaries take a pacifist stand to the people they are called to. Most of the stories in the NT, are about apostles, like Paul, who were sent out as missionaries to share the gospel. Yet, those who are saved by these missionaries, are not told to disarm themselves. They are not told to change professions. It is only those sent out to share the gospel to a specific group of people, who disarm and die for the cause of bringing the gospel to 'heathen'. Antioch Of Pisidia Acts 13
  16. People can kill with bare hands if they know a few things. I do not hear anyone saying they are willing to live without there hands as they are without a gun. both can kill someone.

  18. most of them probably did not last a month i would guess they most likely were eaten by other bigger fish they just were not attached to a fishing pole. Also it is illegal to use gold fish as bait every where I fished in the U.S. However it is legal to buy bait ( some bait is taken from the place one usually fishes ) and use food coloring to add color to them like orange or red coloring. just keep in the bucket and add the food coloring for a day or two. I'm pretty sure they'll survive because it's a tiny 3 ft deep pond with only 4 or 5 sucker fish which feed off the bottom. The water is clear and I can see what goes on in there... cool, Id be eating me some sucker fish they are really good.
  19. hey guys, thanks.... but let's ease up on him a bit. i don't know if ya'll have finished reading the exchanges between firestorm and me yet, but his past has given him a pretty solid reason for thinking as he does... but he's also said he's willing to prayerfully consider the points made for self defense. it's time, i think, to leave this between him and the Holy Spirit to sort through. ok, Lady C, sorry Firestormx.
  20. Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. Exo 22 2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. this clearly says protect your home and family and God will not require your blood for his.
  21. if that person is about to rape/kill my child or wife and I kill him the Lord will help me deal with it Guns are weapons to kill with if in the wrong persons hands, they are for Protection in the hands of another. one should be able to see this distinction.
  22. Yes I would try to help anyone that wanted to know what I know about Jesus. I would not be caught off guard if they tried to get their 72 virgins with my head though.
  23. Exo 22 2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. verse 2 expresses protection of family (home) Psa 82 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. verse 4 express protection of others Ezk 33 6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. also before these all men carried a staff it had two purposes verse 6 shows again one must protect others Deu 23 13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee: verse 13 shows the "staff" most carried was a weapon, which God had them modify not get rid of the weapon
