  1. " Jesus declared in sober earnest that His words would outlast the created heavens and earth." Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall my words shall not pass away- Luke 21:33. "Poets and thinkers have sometimes boasted that their words would survice the most permananet works of man such as pyramids and momuments. But Jesus declared that His words would outlast the most stable works of God." Thus we can rightly conclude that what Jesus said about His self was take my word for it. . The Words of Jesus written by Dag Heward-Mills is a great read. I made some references to its content here. www.daghewardmills.org
  2. Salvation is one of the greatest gifts to mankind. Through salvation we have " all sins past and present forgiven by Jesus's sacrifice. Future sins will also be forgiven if confession is made. Eternal life is received according ot John 5;24, a person is considered a child of God according to John 1;12, a persons' name is written in Heaven in the Lamb's book of life according to Revelation 21:27". There are great book by Dag Heward-Mills entitled " Tell them", "Born Again" which gives indepth explanation about this great gift to all mankind. www.daghewardmills.org
  3. Great post Lisa. I was just reading a great book on how what we utter can be a destructive force to our lives. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21 that death and life are in the power of the tongue. We shape our own lives by what we speak. Here is a great quote from a book entitled "Poison" written by Dag Heward-Mills. " God made us in his own image. And when God was in the process of creating the earth, He spoke with his mouth. He said "Let there be"... and it was. These were creative words. They were spoken out of faith. These words created the world and brought life into being. It can be argued that if human beings were made in God's image, then He has also made it possible that His image will possess this creative power. We should not forget that He did not put this creative power in our feet, hands, heart or kidney. The creative power lies in our tongue. Whoever you are, whatever you do, your language must not be poisonous." Check out www.daghewardmills if you wish to purchase a copy. Its a fantastic read.
  4. Hi Dani, you have answered your own question the best possible way I can think of. Indeed, God is great and He would reveal Himself to them that diligently seek Him. I would only add a little to what you have written because you’ve basically said it all. The whole bible is important. God has never given man anything that he did not need. Every writing inspired by God{literally, God-breathed} is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction which is in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 1 Timothy 3:16-17 [WEB] I need not say anything more because the scripture is very clear. When we are saved through our faith in Christ, we have to move on from there. Paul calls this “working out our salvation with fear and trembling.” If salvation only involved your faith and acceptance of Jesus’ death on the cross for the remission of our sins, he would have only preached that and he wouldn’t have had to send the Holy Spirit to us. The role of the Spirit is to “teach you all things, and bring all things to your rememberance, whatsoever I have said unto you” [John 14:26]. You might be saved, washed from all your sins but empty. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of the man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also to this wicked generation. Matthew 12:43-45 You have to fill yourself with the Spirit. “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). Jesus said, “… the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). The Word will help you to grow after you become born again. “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of THE WORD, that ye may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2). The bible doesn’t say desire the sincere milk of the New Testament or the Old Testament, it says THE WORD. Another name for the Bible is THE WORD of God. My Bishop, Dag Heward-Mills, Made a point in his book The Words of Jesus: " Jesus spoke of the attachment to His words as the sign of attachment to Himself. Jesus considered devotion to His words to be the test of discipleship. If you continue in my words then are you my disciples. You will know the truth and the truth will make you free. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; John 8:31"- The Word The Word of God has a very big role to play in our walk in Christianity. The whole Word of God. However, we have established already that following the letter is not what will give life but following the Spirit. Therefore, we should pray that the Spirit would helps us to read and understand God’s word so that we can apply it in such a way that we would yield fruits thirtyfold, sixtyfold and even a hundredfold. daghewardmillls.org
  5. Here is a brief quote from Dag Heward-Mills’ Born Again: So, really, you can be saved at any time but preferably, it should be one of the first things you should do. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” [Romans 10:9-10, 13-15] I believe that you cannot separate salvation from the Holy Spirit. As in the scripture above, salvation is the Lord’s response to the man who calls on Him. However, to call on the Lord, you need to have prior knowledge of Him which is obtained by listening to preaching. A few verses down, we read: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” [Romans 10:17]. “But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things…” [John 14:26]. In essence, the knowledge that we gain about God so that we are able to believe in Him unto salvation is from the Holy Spirit. He teaches us all things and then we are able to gain faith. Salvation is originally initiated by the Holy Spirit. The Bible, by which many have come to the saving knowledge of God, was written under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We can thus conclude that the Holy Spirit initiated salvation long ago and so we must take the opportunity now. The Bible says this about God in 1 Timothy 2:4, “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth”. That has been God’s intention and desire for mankind. Therefore, the initiation has been completed and the actual process of an individual being saved depends on his own will and timing. However, as we read at the beginning, it is better to seek God first. My link
