WN: Obama: America needs "soul searching" on gun violence - R

MorningGlory, Your stance is unconstitutional. You'd have to define 'large quantities' Arms are already regulated, you see. -

WN: Shootings renew fire at gun-law adequacy - Washington Times

I believe he killed 79 people and used bombs and guns. Both can be had whether legal or not if you are willing. Drugs are illegal. Who here couldn't get anything they wanted if they really wanted to?? -

A club or knife true isn't a good weapon from a distance, but my feeling is that if someone is going to try attacking me from a distance I'm probably not going to get a chance to defend myself with a gun anyways. In either case (if I had a gun or not) if someone had a gun trained on me I wouldn't try to pull a weapon out, I'd be stuck. If I was in a tight home-invasion type situation I'd rather use a blunt type makeshift weapon than blast around with a gun indoors anyways. Again though - if they had a weapon or a gun already trained on me I'd probably be stuck in either case. I just don't see that the odds I would actually be able to use my gun would be very high, even if the conditions for using it would be good. Short barrel 12 guage shotgun with pistol grips. then once you're out of amo, you can just beat them to death with it. Personally, I'd like to see someone start trying to tame down all the video games and blood and gurs movies...... It is my perosnal thoghts that is much more of a problem than guns are That's the parents jobs, not the governments. -

Good gun training would change your mind on that subject I believe. As to the shootings in Colorado....I just don't think a civilian, trained or not, would have done any good against a gunman armed to the teeth and wearing ballistic SWAT armor like he was. Pistol rounds would have no effect much like in the L.A. bank robber shootings. BTW, I am a trained, licensed concealed handgun carrier. I don't believe in placing the blame on the inanimate objects. -

Well, Obama minions seem to be getting their way. The very tiny percentage of the population here in the U.S. seems to have the loudest voice. I think if I lived outside of the U.S. and just watched the American media I would be under the impression that around 50% or more of the population was homosexual......gee, wonder why it's talked about so much. Nearly every television show has atleast one homosexual on it and usually a Brit or Aussie, lol. What gives?? The media is trying to get everyone to accept it or be labelled a hate filled bigot. Needless to say I won't be joining any church like those morons. Marry themselves all to hell..... -
No girls in field artilery units. I did work closely with female mp's for a while though.

Why does a college campus need an armed personnel carrier???
GojuBrian replied to goldust59's topic in General Discussion
Because guns aren't allowed on college campuses. The students have no right or means of protecting themselves.....they're not allowed to. Criminals, however, have no problem with this law. -

I swear and cuss sometimes. It's emotional...if I get mad i cuss, but I know (As do most) that it just isn't right. -
These are the ones I found info on that still use the 1911. I believe the 1911 is one of the finest handguns ever made, BUT.....it's combat effectiveness doesn't compare to some of today's handguns. FN 5.7 anyone??? 2800fps.....penetrates armor at 55yrds, 20-30rds!!! YIKES! Anyhoo... USMC - Force Recon uses the MEUSOC tweaked 1911. I don't really understand USMC organization as far as how widely MEUSOC units are spread around the Corps. USMC Det 1 - super elite and now part of SOCOM--(recently deactivated) US Army Special Forces - I think there is pretty good info that at least one SF group has gotten a load of old GI 1911A1's out of storage, presumably for use. Another elusive super Tier 1 or Tier 0 Army unit ironically famous for it's use of tuned 1911's. That's all that I've heard credible info on. You do know that many law enforcement agencies around the U.S. still use their 1911's though, especially SWAT. 1911's are just awesome. The fit, the trigger break, the accuracy...they've come a long way too!

Kenya: 17 Killed as Churches Attacked by Islamists
GojuBrian replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in Christian News
It's funny, in a sad way, how we go on about our everyday lives with little thought to how great our freedoms are here and how important they are for us to protect. God forbid we should become like that nation. Those poor people. I hope they are able to find justice and solice in the face of all the evil monstrocities going on. -
How can you gurantee that? You know how long it takes me to draw and shoot? Pretty bold statement from 1000 miles away with no possible way to prove otherwise, lol. I gurantee there's no way you could do that, lol. p.s. If you are afraid of shooting yourself, find another hobby. just my .02

I keep one gun on me, loaded, at all times unless I'm at work. Guns not in my immediate control are left locked in the safe. Right now my ccw is a G27
-
I always carry a round in the chamber. Otherwise, you might as well have a hammer.
-
Absolutely. My Dad taught me all of the above things. They are the "gospel" (forgive the term) of firearm ownership, but I will add one more because it is the one thing he taught above all else. Always treat the gun as if it is loaded, at all times, even if you know the magazine is empty and there is no round in the chamber. Always keep your finger OFF the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Always be sure of your target and what is beyond it. Always have the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
