  1. Well a 2 piece swim suit covers up what is important and all that is shown is what is legal to be seen. Maybe that could be a stander to go by? What is legal to be seen. Just a thought.
  2. I would agree that a see through gown would be immodest by my standers and something I would not want to wear. But the world does what the world dose.
  3. What is this Biblical standard of modesty that I keep hearing about? If I were to ask you Davida how should I dress modesty according to Biblical standers what would you say? Can I still wear my shorts and t-shirt in the summer?
  4. So what is the Bible telling us to wear? I think a point to make is that what would be consider modest to day in most people's eyes would not have been consider modest in the Bible days. Also what I may consider to me modest, someone else my see as not. I once knew someone who joined a church who's believe was that men could only wear long sleeve shirts. And the women had to wear long dresses that come down to the floor. What you all are not getting is that people have a different ideal what modesty is. Therefor we should just worry about how we are dressing and not someone else.
  5. I can find a joke in almost every topic on this message forum. I am sorry you do not like my humorous way of communicating. We cant go around blaming other people when we sin. Other wise we may end up demanding that our women dress as they do in the Middle East. A smile can be as temping as how one dresses. Should we forbid women to smile as well?
  6. I would guess that their are Christians in Africa if that is what you mean.
  7. Well the Amish don't just dress for modesty. They dress to not show pride. Bright colors and all of that is prideful to them. But I guess that is for another topic.
  8. My guess would be you would have to talk to them to find out.
  9. I changed because I had a baby and got fat. ROFL!
  10. So we should wear fig leaves? LOL I'm just being funny. Anyway where would I find fig leaves around here? I feel well covered. Even in shorts and a t-shirt, or my swim suit. No one is see anything they shouldn't.
  11. Well for me I see nothing at all immodest about a women in a 2 piece swim suite. Back in my younger days I use to wear one. My bottom and top was covered so I did not think it to be an issue. I personally do think that thong swim suits are immodest. They look uncomfortable too. My point is is that everyone has their own measure for what is and what is not immodest. My grandmother thought shorts of any kind was immodest. Was she wrong to think that? No. It was just her measure of what she consider immodest. So this is why I say this is a personal issue between you and God.
  12. Oh dear. It seems I have caused an uproar once again with what I thought was nothing more then my simple advice. Well first off I was not aware I was suppose to be addressing people in church.( I thought I said that) I was making a general statement about how people dress. I thought I had made that clear but I guess it was not clear enough. I think it is but like I said I understand if you see things differently then I do. I wasn't really trying to make a case of anything. Just my advice. You don't have to follow my advice if you don't want too.
  13. I didn't read threw the whole topic. So I do not know where we are in this topic. I did read the first post and a few others afterwords, therefor felt my post was appropriate for the topic. Anyway you may not think this is about judgment and that if fine to do so as that is your point of view. But I think it is. Which is my point of view when a women is shamed for wearing a swim suit or a pair of shorts.( my comment was on the swim suit issue so that is why I am talking about swim suits) No I am not saying anyone here did that. Overall I was trying to simply give what I thought was good advice on the topic and I just happen to use the word "judging" to which you picked out and ran with for some reason I do not know.
  14. Yeah! I got post of the day! Thank you thank you all!
  15. I meant to just make a general statement. Your comment just got picked. All is well.
  16. Well I said my 2 cents. I will now sit back and watch it explode.
  17. I just like to keep things like this as a personal choice between you and God. To some, women running around in jeans and a t-shirt is immoral and sinful. I just don't like the ideal of passing a judgement call on someone you don't know looking at how they are dressed. So in other words, you think something looks immoral; don't wear it. And don't expect a sinful world to not act sinful. Just make sure you don't.
  18. Then I vote for skinny dipping! But anyway. I wear a one piece when I swim and I have serious doubts any man seeing me in it is lusting after me. I only wish I join this debate sooner. I think I have lots to say on this one.
  19. While I understand that a discussion is open for well, discussion. And with that you will get different points of views and opinions and all of that is fine. I am talking more about if I post something just sharing what my church is doing. Like I could say "my church put on a play this Sunday about the a Bible story and it was just wonderful." My experience with positing such things on here have been for me (maybe not everyone's but me) has been several pages of me defending my church from people judging it to be a place of entertainment instead of God. When all I really wanted to do was share what my church did on the past Sunday. That is what I mean by people being so quick judge. Just maybe we should stop and think for a few moments before rushing in on scolded people? Maybe find out a bit more about things first? Just a though.
  20. It's all fake news. ROFL! Im joking don't get mad!
  21. So I see we are on bras now. Personally I hate them things.
  22. I hope I don't offend anyone. If I do you will just have to offended I guess. But sometimes I feel that some of the people on this forum are so very quick to jump to judgments. For example. I once made a post about my pastor accepting the call to go to another church. He felt like this was where God wanted to send him and even though he did not want to go he felt he should not disobey God's calling . I posted about it just to share that I was sad that he was leaving. But then I ended up spending several days defending my pastor and my church from people who were accusing him of abandoning his flock and demanding that I show them scripture to prove that my pastor was doing God's will by moving on to another church. Other times I have disagreed with a person's interpretation of a passage of scripture which causes them to accuse me of ignoring or twisting scripture altogether. Someone else talk about their church putting on a play and then someone started accusing their church of just being a place for entertainment. The examples can go on and on. At times I think I want to tell you all something then I think well if I post that I am going to have to spend hrs. defending my self or my church or even my poor husband from their judgments. Anyway, maybe I am the only one that see things this way. That is okay I guess. But I just wanted to share how I was feeling. I don't think Christians should be this way with one another.
