I mostly agree here that if people do not want to " hear " it then it only makes matters worse - your being " comfortable" is your own issue to deal with and the Prince of Peace Can COMFORT us in the worst of places we might be and in anyone's company In order for your parents to take you seriously they must SEE a change- do they? That's the fault of a very biased media that twists everything & anything they know very little about - sensationalism and then the internet reminds me of the children's game " telephone".... I think you are right about these 2 issues being mixed up- sounds like it It's extremely difficult to get accurate information,even videos are edited (eg: Trump encouraging peaceful protest- quite a few different snippets on the news )so " statements" - gee? Of course we have access to reliable sources of current foreign policies ,relations & historical docs straight from US Dept of State websites and WH.Gov etc It is certainly best to get ahead of this NOW👍

You cannot rewire your mindset ,not the carnal mind but the Word of God Renews the mind--- you have access to the Mind of Christ ,if that access is hindered then what can it be.... you can't really try,with human willpower or effort to be better or to be Christlike...walking in Spirit & Truth you Can do All things in Christ Jesus You say you've separated yourself from the many things & distractions of this world but still if the heart is waxing cold then you must seek God in this matter,the only real hindrance is " self" ..... do you see what I'm Saying? Loving people,the unbelievers does not mean you have to be friendly and partake- we lead by example and spread the Gospel to every creature,usually complete strangers Receive more readily than people we've known our entire lives- so of course you can share the Good News with people that you wouldn't have anything in common with- think about Jesus having dinner at the tax collectors house,the Apostles couldn't understand this either so it is not by human effort but by the Power of Holy Spirit and in the Love of Christ Pray about this,seek God with all your heart ,mind and soul friend... ask Him to Reveal what you need to SEE ,with the Eyes of Understanding.... your eyes are seeing the flaws,what is vile,unclean,not pleasing and acceptable to God because they are still dead in sin.....Your spirit groans What has always helped me is the thought of a person spending eternity in torment--- eternity is a very very very long time to say the least- would you say your friends that are cussing,swearing and doing other things that make you uncomfortable and disturbed to be around should be cast into outer darkness forever for their behavior?Of course not,perhaps 10,50,100 or a 1000 yrs but ETERNITY? Well,what is old? ... of course millions of years are old but so is 2000,4000 or 6000 - right ? Still,it really is off Topic ,there are plenty of Threads regarding the subject that keeps coming up here You responded quite early on about the fact that scientist missed the mark regarding a 20yr prediction so how could you believe them about 15,000 yrs which is very true So the Topic is not about how old or young the earth is but how it certainly is effected by the past and continues to shift,there's much more to atmospheric conditions ,sea levels and weather systems than just global warming or the earth "cooling" but as we go we do have much more data to explain the complexity of it all I see changes in the landscape of my birthplace (Alaska) from photos from the 50s and compared to present day.....it is unrecognizable and that's only in less than one century- it's very interesting but we know that everything is temporary ,even physical life itself - everything here has a beginning and and end and so it is Written I believe mankind would go( become extint )long before the earth would become uninhabitable because of either wars or nano technology but God's Word Reveals that none of what science predicts will be " the end" Praise God we Understand the end here is the Beginning of all things New❤️
