  1. I read on some of the forum comments a "put down" of "The Resurgence". I have read their website and find it to be following the Scriptures and actually teaching/making disciples. What say you?
  2. There is a difference between discerning (you shall know them) and judging. discern = perceive or recognize (something). judge = form an opinion or conclusion about
  3. I agree, BoPeep. When folks really examine their hearts, fear of loosing control, fear of finding "we" aren't better than others (and that's where pride comes in), fear that someone is going to take our money "that we worked so hard for" (nevermind that we should give back to the Lord). It just makes me shake my head. If I didn't know that in the long run God is in control I would swim in despare.
  4. A Point to Ponder Prejudices come from Fear, Pride or Greed .... or maybe all three.
  5. Marv, if you do a word search through the New Testament, the elect are the Christians (i.e.: 1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. True? I don't know that anyone has really figured out who the 144,000 are. Some say they are the redeemed and saved Jews - I personally just don't know but I'm feel the elect are those who become saved believers during the tribulation.
  6. A little old man who was an elder in our church for many years would witness even in the line at the grocery store. After a brief sweet and kindly chit-chat he would ask "Do you KNOW you will go to heaven when you die?" If they said yes that they were sure, he would smile and say, "Good! I'll see you there!" If they said they thought so or wobbled a bit he would proceed to tell them about Jesus. I never heard of anyone being offended or brushing him off unkindly. He just was so passioned about Jesus they had to smile. I just wonder how many of us have that kind of passion. I've never had the nerve to witness like that and wish I did.
  7. When the opportunity comes to witness to someone, do you witness to them or invite them to church? How do you witness?
  8. If you wish to play word games, take them somewhere else. Rapture comes from the Latin word raptura, from Latin raptus, which is a translation of the Greek verb "harpazō" from which we get "caught up." 1 Thes. 4 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Do you see those two words, "caught up?" That is what we call today the rapture of the bride. No worries, since you don't believe in it, God will make absolutely sure you are not one that will be caught up. YOu will be left behind to see the Beast of Rev. 13. Rev. 20 & 21 search on "coming" results: Revelation 20:1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. Revelation 21:2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. There you have it. An angel coming....and the New Jerusalem coming. Seems you missed it yet again. There IS NO coming of our Lord in Rev. 20 or 21. Let me help you, for it is very clear you need help: Rev 19 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. This is His coming. Destination? Israel, Middle East, planet earth. He comes about 7 year previous to this, to get His bride, now here He is coming WITH His bride, and the angels. For the posttribbers, there is no rapture here at His coming on the white horse. It came 7 years previous. Bottom line? Pretribbers can read simple English. Paul described VERY CLEARLY a catching away of the Bride of Christ. We call it the rapture of the bride. Anyone can be ready and be snatched up to meet Him in the air. On the other hand, anyone can refuse, and be left behind. Anyone can follow Luke 21:36 and PRAY to be found worthy to excape what is coming. But sadly, many are confused, and cannot believe in the catching away of the bride. They will be left behind. Then, they will be beheaded. They will be OVERCOME by the Beast. Lamad Lamad, since belief in the rapture, being a pre-tribber, a post-tribber or whatever does not effect our salvation. Be honest - We really don't KNOW! We hope we understand the scriptures. We try to put together the Word of Jesus, the OT scriptures of Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekial, Joel, Paul's writing and Revelation. We are not sure. We all have different opinions and really think we have it down pat. It really doesn't matter that much. We are told by Jesus to be ready! That's where our emphasis should be. God will take care of us. Remember, He loves us as a parent for a child. Jesus told us how to be ready. WE MUST BE READY!!!
  9. Have to agree! There is a song that came out when my kids were teens - "They will know we are Christians by our love". I guess the question is really - do they?
  10. BoPeep I agree with you. The day you accept Jesus into your heart and become a true believer - yes you will do some changing but it's not all overnight! Paul writes about feeding milk to the baby Christians...God works on us and it just takes time but here is the thing: When the Bible calls us "saints" it doesn't mean we are perfect while we are still here on earth! We don't get rid of our humanity until the Lord calls us home. We are saved and in God's eyes our sins are erased but He isn't finished with us yet. Please don't expect Christians to be perfect. They may be fighting a number of old sins and just haven't won yet but they will.
  11. I don't think we will have all of our memory erased: Rev 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? They obviously remembered their time on earth.
