  1. "HEY RALPH, DID YOU REMEMBER TO TAKE THE TRASH OUT BEFORE CHURCH THIS MORNING? AND I TOLD YOU NOT TO WEAR THAT TIE WITH THAT SHIRT!" Well...maybe... or not. Ha.
  2. Just old wives tales. Since no contemporary Christian was an eye-witness, no one knows if any of the above allegations are true. Just disregard conjecture. Chances are that there were more orderly meetings then than there are now in some churches, because the apostles were still alive, and their influence was very powerful. There was some disorder at Corinth which was addressed and put to rest, so far as we know. But these allegations are just stories concocted to suggest that the Bible is like any other storybook. I believe there are still old writings from back then, not just scripture. Ezra is right. There is no evidence of that claim. It's one of those things I refer to as, "Christian oral tradition." It is on par with the myth that the high priest went into the holy of holies with a rope around his leg. No truth to it at all, but preachers pass that thing around like a Christmas fruit cake. Then please explain how we know women were uneducated back then. Thanks.
  3. This post wouldn't post the was way I did it, so I'm deleting it. My phone doesn't often agree with this site.

  5. The can of worm means arguments about womwn bring silent in churches. Arguments by human beings. I know what you are saying, but not everyone understands everything in the bible.
  6. And, 'if she wishes to learn anything, let her ask her husband at home, it is improper for a woman to speak in church.' I heard they were separated in the congregation, women on one side and men on the other. They would yell, or loudly wisper or whatever to their husbands across the room and it had something to do with their lack of education.
  7. Good advice thanks!
  8. Some good advice. Thanks!
  9. What do think Paul mean exactley when he said, 'A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.' 1 Timothy 2:11 I have heard the explanation of something unique happening in the culture over there? I don't remember exactly what is was.

    1 Peter 3:7

She is part of the chosen lineage of Jesus. I'd be careful...? God's love to you.
  11. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2Chorinthians 9:7 What is giving under compulsion? I think I asked this last year, and I don't remember. Lol.
  12. People in old testament lusting after other gods causing big open door for satan to work in there, influencing them to go farther. Now a fallen angel who has a higher rank tells the smaller ones to go about the people doing their work on them. A house divided against itself cannot stand, so they are working together. The head principlality of all this is like the ring leader, as on earth there are various groups that fall apart without a leader. Gangs, churches, sports teams, etc. Well, that has been my understanding.
  13. Hi Pamelasv I thought to pass a few Christian tract sites your way in a PM. Because they link to a site that "sells" something, in the past Worthy did not want you to post to merchant sites. For those wanting to search for them, I'll post the ministries name only here, I'd be glad to PM anyone else that would care for the links as well: Living Waters Tracts Chick Tracts Mark Cahill One Million Tracts Fellowship Tract League Little Bible Ministry The Tract League I've used all of these tract sites over the years, they come recommended as each of them has a clear gospel message. The majority that they offer are well done, there are only a handful that I find "tacky" that I do not use. There are other Christian tract companies out there as well! A few of the sites also allow you to view them online in their entirety if you would like to look at them. Also handy for emailing a link of one along! A few of the sites also offer a "sample tract pack" that has an assortment of tracts that the ministry has to offer. A good way to check out a lot of them at one time. We do look to be discerning with some of them, as some deal with certain sins, false religions, etc, while others are general for anybody. I do use them often for follow up after witnessing to one or many, and hand them out in general when time does not permit one speaking much. We as a family put them about here and there as well for someone to find later. Some of those Chick Tracts are horrible, hate filled and a bad witness. Don't know about the others. There is a place in Los Angeles called the Free Tract Society has been in ministry for decades. I don't think they have much of an online presense though. I remember one that total freaked out my step son. The look on his face...then he hastily got it out of his hands. It sure didn't speak to his heart. It was just laying around our house, I don't remember where it came from. He hasn't come to Christ yet. It didn't have anything to do with his heart been convicted.
  14. 1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Eph 2:9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. I believe the Lord wants me to be led by the H.S. It keeps coming to me for that, but I KNOW He wants me to live in love so when He wants me to say something, then it will be believable. I have been told to say nothing already also by the H.S. But I have no problem with tracts, I like that sort of thing. Still didn't order any tho.
  15. You know, it actually doesn't say that in the bible anywhere, does it? In different wording, that is.
  16. Well that means he talked about it then.
  17. I can see how there has to be a leader, as in anything for something to work. In the church, the pastors, we respect them and have to go by their authority. In crime, gangs, they have leaders. Things fall apart without someone leading. No peace and harmony. Even we submit to the law for life to be safer and more peaceful for everyone. As for the Eve being deceived thing, she believed the serpent rather than God. Sounds like 'unbelief' to me. Sin talked about in the old testament over and over again when they were in the wilderness. Also, her husband must have seen she didn't die, not realizing that someday they would. I still stick by my thoughts that that is rebellion. Going against what God says is just plain rebellion! There are no if' and's or but's!
  18. Funny thing, because I shared this, seems so much easier going in that store now. Actually, I typed up a more detailed explanation, and kind of got it off my chest so to speak even tho I didn't send it. I guess I confessed my sin. ' confess your sins to one another...'

    1 Peter 3:7

'But God said to Abraham, "Do not be distressed because of the lad and your maid, whatever Sarah tells you, listen to her, ..." So Abraham listened to God. Are you Arab by any chance. Forgive my bluntness, but I wonder if that is why you are so mad about this.

    1 Peter 3:7

Sarah had a very stange personality, I don't mean to judge her, and I won't do that. But if I had daughters and tell them that Sarah is your role model, who is going to come to my rescue? they will tell me the story of Sarah parading her self, adorned with the most expensive dressing of the time, ( Abraham was a very rich man) and the most expensive jewelry of the time, making herself attractive at that age to be fit to stay in the palace of Faraow, and the lies, and the deception, and the distruction in her path, in the house of Faraow, and the gain in material as a result. Do you get this picture, or you want the one with Agar, and the child she left to died in the dessert, do you think my children will be under some spell not to see that, they will laugh at my suggestion. or should I tell the parents of my intended wife, that I want your daughter in marriage, but she must learn to called me Lord. Or if I tell this to my fiancé. Can you guess their reactions? Did she do all these things without any fear? I do no see most of what you are saying even in scripture. And really do not know how you know what Sarah's personality was like. Sorry. We don't know at all what she was really like except a few clips. A few clips from anybody could give the wrong impression. But not only that, sounds like you are saying scripture is wrong by her calling him lord? That was a very cultural thing. Everybody called certain other people lord when showing submission to them.
  21. Well I will ponder that, and read the scripture carefully. But we do not know if Adam was there listening to the serpent, or if Eve walked to where her husband was and told him. Odd that He would also just passively listen to the serpent too and take it from Eve. Otherwise, the serpent deceived him also? The serpent didn't approach him, it approached Eve. If the husband was just standing there doing nothing, same thing.
  22. Many Christian women fail to realize (and that is because of a lack of proper Bible teaching) that Eve's transgression had serious consequences for women. And even after they hear Bible Truth, many rebel against it. It would appear that Eve's dialogue with the Devil was itself an ACT OF REBELLION. Consequently women are now to be in submission to their husbands, and they are forbidden to preach and teach in the churches. That does not mean that Christian women are rendered ineffective, since there are many spiritual gifts that they can exercise and do exercise. But Scripture makes it clear that the husband is the head (authority) of his wife, hence Christian women are to also have the symbol of authority (the head covering) on their heads during worship "because of the angels" (1 Cor 11:9,10) AND ALSO BECAUSE OF MAN'S PRIORITY IN CREATION: 9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. "Power on her head" is a metaphor for the symbol of authority -- the head covering. When the angels see Christian women with covered heads, and Christian men with uncovered heads, they note that that local church is in submission to Christ (provided there is genuine heart submission). While we may not be able "to figure out" all of this, we are expected to simply obey. We disagree, definitely. Eve did not rebel. She was deceived. Adam sinned. Genesis 3:13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” 2 Cor 11:13 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. Since scripture says Eve was deceived, that is the truth. That is important because the fundamental belief is that Adam's sin was inherited by all of his descendents. Jesus father was God, not a human, so Jesus was born without sin. She did rebel by going against what God told her to do. The serpent deceived her in what she thought she would become. Oops. There is an argument I have heard which we can not know if it is true or not. In scripture, God told Adam not to eat from the tree. Chronologically, Adam was told not to eat from the tree before Eve was created. There is no record in scripture that God told Eve. Genesis 2: 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” 18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Going on to Genesis 3, the serpent attempts to deceive Eve, so if Eve heard directly from God, it is not recorded. The only other possibility is that Adam told Eve the law about the tree. Genesis 3:Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” In verse 2, Eve is repeating the law to the serpent, but she has the law wrong. It is not just eating, but Eve includes not touching, which deserves death. Did Eve add to the law, or did Adam add to the law and tell Eve the law with the added restriction. We don't know, but some people believe that Eve never heard the law from God, but instead Adam. With the expansion of the law, it sets Eve up to be deceived. 4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. The serpent told her a lie, and from that lie, she 'realized the fruit was good for food, and pleasing to the eye.' Eve believed the serpents lie. That is the basis of all deceptions. Thinking that it is actually good and pleasing. Being deceived leads to sin. The other important point is that Adam was with her. Adam did hear the law directly from God. Adam should have known that touching the fruit was not a part of the law. There is nothing recorded in scripture which shows Adam correcting Eve's misunderstanding of the law, and nothing which shows Adam objecting, or trying to stop Eve. Eve did not deceive Adam into eating. Scripture never says that Adam was deceived by the serpent. If she did not rebel, she would not have been guilt of sin! Go against what God tells you to do, and it is rebellion, plain and simple! I do not understand what the argument is here.
  23. Decided not to post this.
  24. It is not in the Spirit, but in the spirit of a person! If you could explain what you mean. Thanks.
