  1. Thank you so much for your advice! & yes i am not going to leave unless God leads me somewhere else that I know His Word is being preached through the power of the Holy Spirit! & like i was saying I grow a lot spiritually in this church so it does give me some sadness & pain to leave but I'm leaving it in God's hands.
  2. This is really interesting and it just caught my attention. 1 Corinthians 14:34 states "...just as the Law also states". Has Paul then put women under the Law? I was led to believe that in the spirit there is neither slave nor free, Jew nor Gentile, male nor female. If a church, being the body of Christ, and the offices and leadership of that church are not being rendered in the spirit then it must be run by the ? state of birth of the believer being either male or female in the flesh? I understand perfectly in my home and the running of the that home, and the "law" that Paul speaks of which is not the ten commandments, that my husband takes the ownership and the lead role. And I do love and honour him beyond measure. However, in the church, in things of the spirit, my husband will often ask me for clarification and bless me to minister. I wonder what women in ministry and/or leadership in the church have to say about this? Have you asked your lead pastor who is, as you have stated, a woman? Or have you spoken with the other pastors of the church who are obviously under her authority? If you are part of an organized religion such as Baptist, Pentecostal etc, then your pastors are under a headship that is under a headship that is probably under another headship that is under Christ who is the head of the church. Yes, same here. & that is exactly what my mentors & my pastor said. She said that at home the husband is the leader, He is the head & we have to submit to them but at the church it's not like that bc God has given us all different gifts and we have to use them, & if she preaches the truth& everything according to God's Word then it shouldn't be a problem. I guess I can see whether is pleasing or not by the fruit of the Spirit & i have grown spiritually like never before in this church, something that didn't occur in other churches i have been to that are lead by male pastors. My husband often asks me about specific points in the Bible for clarification also & he loves to see me so involved in the church all the time so i think sometimes God gives us wisdom that He doesn't give our husbands just like He reveals things to them that He doesn't reveal to us. Also i had asked my church brothers and sisters about it but I wanted to see somewhere else because i was afraid they where going to answer me blindly,& i just want to know what God's will is so that everything we do can be pleasing to Him. Thank you so much for your response :-) God Bless
  3. Hi Michael:-) Thank you for your feedback, About changing denominations that's not something I really care about. I care about the Word of God i care about the truth being preached even if it hurts, it something is the will of God then it's the will of God. I came from a baptist church & I'm sorry to tell you but even though the baptist church has many good things, it has one thing that i cannot stand (of course I'm talking about the baptist churches i know) they always have so many ppl that they are afraid to speak the truth, they are afraid to speak against sin & about hell, they are afraid to speak about holiness & guess what the bible says? It says that without holiness nobody will see the Lord . So yes maybe being a woman & in control of a church might not be pleasing t God bt im sure it is even less pleasing to have a church full of people that are ignorant about God's expectations from us once we are saved, i was in a baptist church for 2 yrs, got baptized, i was an usher and the power point assistant while dying in my sin. Sleeping with my boyfriend without being married & do you think anybody ever tell us anything? I was 16 and really seeking God bt didnt have a leader that could show me the right way & the pastor was a man. But God put somebody on my path that showed me the way to Him
  4. hi i think it all depend of what you call teaching ? is it like Paul explaining scriptures ,and stand against other elders in the church ? or is just reading scriptures and existing scriptures ? the first would be my choice Hi:-) I meant like teaching as a pastor, like be in front of a church & preach, & make decisions, explain scriptures, etc.
  5. Thanks all of you for your answers! So I guess I agree with what most of you said, women shouldn't be completely in control over everybody in a church bc that includes men also but of course we could help in the work of the Lord since we're all called to give testimony of Him. There are quite a lot of men in my church but they all love our pastor, but I feel bad now bc i don't think it's pleasing to God that we have a woman in control in our church. We do have board members but I still think our pastor is the one that makes most decisions. What should I do? I love my church & I would never want to leave but I also want to be where God's will is.
  6. Hello everyone :-) So I've had this question for awhile & always asked but I still don't feel comfortable with what other people have told me for some reason. I am a woman so of course I would prefer if the answer was no but I want to know the truth, i don't want to be deceived. The bible says: 1 Corinthians 14:34 The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. 1 Corinthians 14:35 If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. 1 Timothy 2:12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. Among other passages. Is Paul & Timothy only talking to specific people in their time, or to specific churches that where going through trouble or is this for everybody today also? I always feel the urge to speak about God & tell the whole world about Him but now i'm not even sure if I should do that, also at church I love to participate during the bible studies, i'm even the kid's Sunday school teacher, & my pastor is a woman (we have other pastors in the church but she's the main pastor).so can somebody help me? Thank you so much.
  7. Thank you so much, knowing that my family in Christ is praying gives me comfort ❤️ With much love, Leidy.
  8. Yeah, I read it to her after and she said she doesn't think that God is like that... So I told her then you don't believe that the Bible is the Word of God and she started contradicting herself saying that she did. But thank you for replying. God Bless
  9. Yeah, bad company corrupts good behavior the bible says. & i know, I understand but it is because like you said you've never had a convo or felt God, you've never had a personal relationship with Him but i know if you pray about it in Jesus' name you'll start developing that relationship, also reading the Bible because that's God talking to you so it's so important :-) i felt in love with God the moment I gave it all to Him and let Him do His will in me & now my family i guess gets a little jealous, and they always try to belittle God which is why I can't stand being around that... It's like if somebody was always talking bad about your mom in this case since I see that you love her a lot. Thank you so much for your reply, God Bless.
  10. Hello everyone :-) I need some godly advice and comfort I guess. I argue so much with my earthly family of unbelievers and it just gets me so upset all the time that i wish i could just completely go far away from them and focus on God and my brothers and sisters in Christ but it is so complicated especially in a family like mine that everybody is so close and so many live together, etc. but we just all have so many different beliefs and nobody wants to take God seriously:-( My sister is an atheist (i Don't even argue with her anymore bc it is pointless so I have put her in God's hands) My mother is lukewarm( she believes but doesn't really believe, she doesn't want to do the will of God, she doesn't want to go to church, she doesn't want to read the bible, and hates when i talk about God but then she says she loves God but shes serving the devil) My father just came out of prison, he never believed in God before and God changed him in prison but i guess he's kind of forgetting about it now so he's starting to not go to church anymore, questions the bible a lot and says its always contradicting itself and is still living a life full of sin. Almost everybody else is an idolater and say they believe in the bible but when you show them what it says they say "they don't see it like that". The craziest argument i had was just the other day when my aunt told me that i wasn't being a good person because I was loving God before my mother and father. She "believes" in the bible and God but then says that we have to love our parents before all because they where who gave us life??????? That's so crazy I couldn't even believe it. & then they're always making fun of my husband and I because we give God tithe and offering, and bc they say all we care about is Jesus. What can I do? Would it be bad if I stop going over my family's because every time i go we're really good at first but then we start arguing but if i don't go then they'll say that I'm a bad christian that doesn't love her family? The only thing that has given me some comfort is (Mathew 10:34-37), i would greatly appreciate it if you guys helped me thank you, in Christ's love, Leidy.
  11. 1. I feel sorry for unbelievers because they have no hope for their future. Their hope is this life, then after they die nothing happens, they just die... How sad would it have been if that's how life was! 2. I also feel sad because i know they are going to go through an eternal torment in fire, and after that there is not second chance, no repentence (no more Jesus
  12. Hello Alex :-) This is how i understand it: God made us PERFECT, ETERNAL but with a FREE WILL (because He didn't want us to be like robots he gave us free will). He gave Adam & Eve the choice of wether to obey Him or not (just like He gave it to us) . If it would have been you in the place of Adam and Eve maybe you would have taken that fruit also just like now you choose to do some things that God tells us not to do. We have the option to say no to sin and we still say yes (the same thing that Adam and Eve did). We don't pay for their sins, we pay for our sins. Because we where meant to be eternal you either go to Hell which is eternal or you go to the Kingdom of God which is eternal but YOU choose. I understand why you ask yourself that question because when i first started believing in God I always used to ask myself this also until one very important day that I remember as if it was yesterday, I said THAT IS IT, i'm not going to question God anymore simply because HE IS GOD. I know you really want to know but if you truly want to know the truth then don't get stuck on these type of questions, I know in the future once you get to actually know God & His promise to us you will understand everything. These questions will only bring doubt. Be still & know that HE IS GOD. Blessings, Leidy.
  13. Ha ha ha wow was this meant to be a joke...LOL I believe This is what you meant: It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” (‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭25‬ NKJV)
  14. The bible doesn't say it is a sin but.. The question we all as christiAns should always ask is "Would Jesus do it"? We are called to be like Christ, we are called to be Holy like God is holy. So if we know smoking is not good and Jesus wouldn't do it then why do it?
  15. The old testament law was different...but we have to worry about what Jesus tells us in the new testament (Mathew 5:38). We are not to revenge because vengeance belongs to the Lord. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭19‬ NKJV) We should ALWAYS forgive. Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. (‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭21-22‬ NKJV) God will use the same measure we use to forgive. “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭14-15‬ NKJV) God bless you
  16. Hello Mick :-) Don't worry I think we have all gone through this. What helped me understand the bible was 1. Believing 100% what is written in it without questioning at all since it is all God's word& God is God we can't question Him 2. Reading it EVERY SINGLE DAY(even if it is just 2 verses), it'll help you if you do it at the sAme time everyday so you get used to it 3. Start with the New Testament in order so from Mathew to Revelation it doesn't matter if you already know the story of Jesus and how the angel came to Mary And how he wAs crucified, read it again... It's never enough. (When i first started reading the bible i wanted to start from the very first book (genesis) & then every time i would start, i would stop because it would get so confusing and i would start questioning everything but now that i have read the new testament and i can understand The bible Nd God's plan better... I can also understand the Old testament... 3. Like other brothers have said: pray before you read it, ask God for wisdom, guidance and understanding 4. Read a version that you will understand, i started with NIV , but now i read NKJV. God bless you very very much!
  17. Haha its funny the way you say it. I did ask Him that awhile ago because I wanted to be able to experience having a bAby and of course my family to be saved, etc. Now, i ask Him to come again everyday. I just can't wait for Him to come and i know it's a little selfish because there are still a lot of other people that haven't been saved but I just can't stand this world except when I am around my husband, or with my brothers and sisters in Christ of course bc that's when you can feel His presence even stronger :-) Amen, Come Lord Jesus, Come! (Revelation 22:20)
  18. I believe John, the beloved disciple answers this question very clearly on the following verses: And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. (‭I John‬ ‭3‬:‭5-10‬ NKJV)
  19. These are the ones i find most helpful for a Christian life Christians have to be obedient to the Lord: And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. (‭I John‬ ‭3‬:‭5, 7-10‬ NKJV) Christians SHOULD LIVE BY THE SPIRIT: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭24-25‬ NIV) --------------------------------------------------------------- Christians should stay together in fellowship and care for each other's salvation: Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” (‭I Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭33‬ NKJV) Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ NIV) Christians need to allow God to make them Holy like He is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16) For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit. (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4‬:‭7-8‬ NIV) to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭23-24‬ NIV) For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬ NIV) and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭27‬ NIV) Christians need to show their love and faith to God by our actions and life. In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? (‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭17-20‬ NIV) If you love me, you will keep my commandments. (John 14:15)
  20. I like KJV but since it is a little harder to understand I reAd NKJV :-)
