  1. Ok, lets leave it then @ just "weeks" and see what happens: (Daniel 9:25) "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times." The decree to restore and build Jerusalem ---------------------------------------------------------> Artaxerxes Longimanus, 14 March 445 BC; Neh: 2:5-8, 17, 18 So 69 just plain ole weeks from then would put Jesus' Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem ----------------------------> in 444 BC !!!! Ya need a new "contention" regards thats how you look at it when you you try to hammer what you know about history to fit a prophecy, and its how you look at it if you are denoting the interpretation Gabriel gave Daniel concerning the vision was about Jesus Christ. the vision was not about Jesus the vision given Daniel was completely about the coming of the antichrist and what he would do thus since the antichrist has not shown up yet, then everything surrounding what he will do has not happened yet. thus the weeks that God said were weeks have not even started yet
  2. how about the simple fact that the word of God says "weeks" and some of you guys have interpretated this word "weeks" to not mean weeks but have interpreted the word "weeks" to mean years I'm pretty sure God knows the difference between a week and a year
  3. good post! Its completely illogical to denote any of the interpretation the angel gives Daniel to be about Jesus Christ for the simple reason that the interpretation given by the angel was entirely supposed to be about the vision in chapter 8, the word of God specifically is shown that Gabriel came to give better understanding of the vision Daniel received the vision was completely about the coming of the lawless one, the false messiah
  4. =============================================================================================================== Which Passage? Here this might help.... (Daniel 8:3-12) "Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last. {4} I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great. {5} And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. {6} And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. {7} And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. {8} Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. {9} And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. {10} And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. {11} Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. {12} And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered." "a ram which had two horns" ---- Medo-Persia and "but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last."---- Persia came up last and dominated. "he goat came from the west"----- Greece and "touched not the ground"---- Speed "and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes"----Alexander The Great. "smote the ram, and brake his two horns"----- Greece (Alexander) Conquers Medo-Persia. "he goat waxed very great"--- Alexander The Great and "the great horn was broken"---- Alexander Died soon after (~ 30 Years Old). "and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven." Alexanders Generals (Lysimachus, Cassander, Seleucus, and Ptolemy) divided the Empire. "out of one of them came forth a little horn"----This is Antiochus IV Epiphanes who came up from the Seleucid Empire. "he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down."---- This is Antiochus with the First Abomination of Desolation (I think he slaughtered a Pig on the Altar then erected a statue of Zeus or Jupiter in the Holy of Holy's). This then led to the Maccabean Revolt----the victory is celebrated to this day....Hanukkah Lets look @ what's AFTER Verse 17 and Identify the players.... (Daniel 8:18-27) "Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. {19} And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. {20} The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. {21} And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. {22} Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. {23} And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. {24} And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. {25} And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. {26} And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days. {27} And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it." "The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia." (Self Identified) "rough goat is the king of Grecia" (Alexander The Great) and "great horn that is between his eyes is the first king" (Again, Alexander The Great) "Now that being broken (Alexander Dies) whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up" (Again...Lysimachus, Cassander, Seleucus, and Ptolemy) ** This is eerily similar to the same scenario we just read in (Daniel 8:3-12) above. "And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up." "In the later time of "Their" Kingdom". Who's "Their"? The Antecedent----the Four Kingdoms (Lysimachus, Cassander, Seleucus, and Ptolemy). "a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up" --- This is where we head off the rails. This is definitely talking about the ac/beast AND it most assuredly is also talking about the despot Antiochus IV Epiphanes. There's Crossover here...a screaming "TYPE". Just as there's crossover when Jesus talks about an event that already took place (Abomination of Desolation) as a Future Event. This "Crossover" (Between Antiochus and the ac) happens again in a somewhat similar scenario @ the end of Daniel Chapter 11. This is correct. They are not Explicitly Identified. I first looked @ Scripture then I went hunting into Secular History to Identify the Principles. If you take issue with it, you are welcome to refute it; If so, Please Cogently and Specifically. Thanks regards does it even matter to you that the lives of the four generals do not line up with what the scripture says they will each do, this is a fact in the historical record and the four generals lives are not in agreement with the scriptures pertaining to the four kings mentioned that come out of Greece ================================================================================================================ Well it's not "The Generals" lives that are discussed but their respective empires; Mainly two that are in focus in Daniel: Ptolemaic and Seleucid and the struggles between them... with Israel trapped (buffer state) in the middle. Does that clear things up? again the lives of Ptolemaic and Seleucid do not line up with what God's word says the kings will do, does this not matter? or is it more important that you hammer in the pieces you believe are part of the puzzle even though they don't actually fit then you jump from the four kings directly into the life of the antichrist and his rise to power talk about a time gap? ===================================================================================================== Again.... it's not "their" lives that are in view or discussed. And there is no "Jumping"; Have you ever read Chapter 11 of Daniel ? no Jumping!, really? I have read chapter 11 thousands of times and it appears to go from the lives of the four kings (whom you have said were four generals that succeeded Alexander the great) !!:3 Then a mighty king will appear, who will rule with great power and do as he pleases, after he has appeared, his empire will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. is this not the passages you apply to be Alexander the great and his four generals you have named as kings (even though they never were called kings historically) thats 11:3-4 from there the scripture starts describing a king of the south and a king of the north and clearly these two kingdoms practice a tradition that is rarely seen in todays world and only few people groups still practice this tradition and that is giving daughters in marriage we see these two kingdoms fight for quite a long period of time so from your theology we go from Alexander the great and his four generals in verse 11:3-4 and we have the antichrist rise on verse 11:21 you do believe the scripture is describing the antichrist starting in verse 21 do you not? and thats not a jump to you?

  6. considering the book we are told was sealed, it should be understood that it might not be unsealed as of yet, but in light of such a thing I would conclude the most obvious error in the interpretation of this scripture is not adhering to the word "weeks" for some odd reason this one word is stretched to unbelievable dimensions just to make it fit peoples theological ideas for this sealed up passage I would contend starting from the premise that weeks means "weeks" and go from there

  8. who is the king of the north and the king of the south? they arrive before the whole sun and moon episode
  9. It appears that the garden is a real place, and the entrance is protected by an angel, not sure you could get around the angel with the flaming sword
  10. fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
  11. when anyone has experienced a heavenly experience they all say the same thing, "words in our language do not describe it" in reality our human language is probably as crude and inept as listening to a two year old trying to talk and make sense in comparison to the language of angels and of those in heavenly places
  12. while I'm willing to starve to death rather than take a mark my fear is my unwillingness to watch my family starve to death, certainly I agree God has it in His power to feed His people just as He fed the Isrealites in the desert but according to the prophecy the antichrist succeeds in his war against the saints and overcomes them see Daniel 11:32-34 best scenario is escaping from the land he will control As I see it, if you're in a position of being confronted about taking the mark or not and you refuse, it shows your refusal to worship the image of the beast and you will be put to death. You won't have time to starve. I agree that the best natural chances (outside of divine intervention) will be in remote rural areas. In population centers it will be too easy to detect if someone has the mark or not. If I understand prophecy correctly, a good time to "get out of Dodge" and take your chances in the wilderness (if that is your plan) is when the ten horns destroy the world's capital. I expect there will be a few months of nation rising against nation at that point until the false prophet brings it all under control with the signs and wonders he performs, and sets up the image of the beast, demanding worship as the pseudo-savior. I see an iron clad prediction of who the antichrist will be based soley on the life of his predecessor in which Daniel 11:20 indicates clearly so its not Obama lol
  13. I think Daniel 10 shows an association between certain kingdoms of this world and the fallen angel "princes" that oversee them. Then he said to me, “Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future.” Daniel 10:12-14 Then he said, “Do you understand why I came to you? But I shall now return to fight against the prince of Persia; so I am going forth, and behold, the prince of Greece is about to come. However, I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth. Yet there is no one who stands firmly with me against these forces except Michael your prince. Daniel 10:20-21 There is definitely a spiritual aspect to the four beast kingdoms...or maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying. what I'm saying is the final kingdom is Jesus the King and Christianity are the Christians who make up the kingdom its more practical to imagine if the final kingdom is a religion then the beast kingdoms would be false religions
  14. FESTIVUS, Where The Tin Hats Of The World Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. Matthew 2:1-2 Magically Morph Into The Festivus Pole When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. Matthew 2:10-12 Thanks Brother Joe, for your kind, gentle, and as always, scriptural rebuke. When I first heard the word "festivus" I knew then that it was invented to ridicule the Christians and Jews during the holidays. "Festivus, for the rest of us." of course I was joking with Festivus but it should be pointed out that Jesus was not born in December and the practice to make it the date of His birth was another way the Catholic seeker friendly attitude adopted paganism into Christianity most theologians arrive at a date in September given all the criteria from the scriptures but certainly its whats in a man's heart that counts
  15. I imagine your favorite gift will give away your age, like if I said "Dune buggy wheely" yeah its out of sight!
  16. I find it interesting every theologian accepts the final kingdom that God sets up in the time of those kingdoms (the four beast) to be Christianity manifested by Christians world wide but in interpreting the four beast kingdoms they quickly decide the four beast to be human empires with no spiritual connections what so ever yet the final kingdom is completely a Spiritual kingdom manifested by humans connected to His kingdom, while the other four kingdoms are just political parties and have no spiritual ties
  17. while I'm willing to starve to death rather than take a mark my fear is my unwillingness to watch my family starve to death, certainly I agree God has it in His power to feed His people just as He fed the Isrealites in the desert but according to the prophecy the antichrist succeeds in his war against the saints and overcomes them see Daniel 11:32-34 best scenario is escaping from the land he will control
  18. while I don't have three years supply of food, if the scripture is correct and some dictator insist on a universal mark to buy or sell seems the prepers just may be on to something Only if they can get away and hide..... for if they refuse to worship the beast they will die.... food or no food. from what the scripture in Daniel 11 says it appears the antichrist doesn't rule the whole world, as verse 41 shows some people escaping his hand while verse 42 shows Egypt not a good choice for a place to spend the endtimes in
  19. =============================================================================================================== Because it's Unequivocally Correct. (Daniel 9:25) "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times." (Daniel 9:26) "And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined." Who and What are these passages describing? Say what?? Can you show me in Daniel Chapter 9 anything concerning Chapter 8, with a: Ram with 2 Horns (Medo-Persia), a Goat---with a Notable Horn (Alexander The Great), the Goat Smoting The Ram (Alexander defeats Medo-Persia), The "Great Horn being Broken"---with 4 notable horns coming after Alexander (Alexanders 4 Generals---4 Empires) ?? Moreover Daniel Chapter 8 was in: (Daniel 8:1) "In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first." Whereas, Daniel Chapter 9 was in: (Daniel 9:1) "In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;" Furthermore, the vision in Chapter 8 was explained AT LENGTH (The Whole Chapter): (Daniel 8:15-16) " And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. {16} And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision." Which is thoroughly explained in the following 10 Verses! Here's a more in depth discussion of Daniel Chapter 8: Gabriel, in Daniel 9:25, predicts Christs Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem 500 years before to the exact day! : They are 70 weeks of Years; SEE discussion above with Christ's Triumphal Entry chapter 8 is about a vision of a goat and a ram with the story showing host of heaven being thrown down and trampled, It set itself up to be as the great Prince of host, It took away the daily sacrifice from him and the place of his santuary was brought low, because of rebellion the host of the saints and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. this is the passage you are denoting is the work of Jesus? It should be noted all the other perscribed interpretations are your own "Alexander the great, the four generals....etc....there not found in scripture
  20. Whether one sees or hears apparitions of the supernatural, one ought to recognize that humankind has NO powers against them apart from minor changes affecting the physical environment. Men consider themselves to be the supreme entity in the universe. It is unsettling to discover we are not. So it is with those, myself included, who have engaged beings on the supernatural level. It must be reiterated here that only the blood of Christ can save a man or woman from the clutches of the kingdom of satan. This includes, but is not limited to demons, unclean spirits, ghosts and disembodied human spirits. A tip for anyone who wants to de-haunt a house or apartment: If the haunting is a disembodied human spirit, one only needs to rearrange the structure. A new coat of paint often goes a long way to ejecting an unwanted spirit. A caution should be noted here that such entities do not appreciate anyone manipulating what they consider to be their domain. They will do what they can to interfere with the process. In the initial phases, things can get very interesting. You don't need to hire ghostbusters, the local witch doctor or a ghost whisperer. Just buy paint at Home Depot. Think I"m kidding? Check it out. Make permanent or semi-permanent changes to the environment. Install a new door or remove one altogether. Put in a new window or seal an old one. Remove all old appliances and renovate the kitchen. These may not all have to be done. They are suggestions only. With regard to oppression and/or possession of more powerful entities such as demons or particularly unclean spirits, only Christian prayers and an appeal to God in the name of the blood of Christ will suffice to succeed. Bear in mind that such afflictions are usually due to some personal flirtation with sin. Before any of this can succeed, sin MUST be totally removed, denied and forgiven by God. Do not take this for granted. A determined effort must be made to make sure one has peace with God before entering spiritual warfare. Finally, it should be considered whether a spirit or spirits should be, in fact, removed at all. If removal is not accompanied with sincere changes in behavior and peace made with God, the spirits will come back seven times stronger. and that's just me, hollering from the choir loft... once a man dies his spirit is located in one of two places, the only spirits that pretend to be the spirits of dead people are familiar spirits and they are nothing more than an evil spirit that is familiar with the departed.
  21. Sounds like the right diagnosis. And clearly you have more awareness of these things than most. What you need to do is to take dominion over the premises in the name of Christ. Preferably, bring in someone with experience with such matters, and go room to room, praying in the authority of the name of Christ, that any spirits not of Him must depart. These prayers must call upon the Lord in true faith, nothing doubting, which is why it is helpful to have someone with experience in these things take the lead. This is really good advise, I would seek out a pastor who understands these kinds of spiritual manifestations (probably a full gospel pastor will you find the man your looking for) and deal with them right away, the good news is Jesus has given us all authority over such spiritual dark entities and they must leave in Jesus name!
  22. He only did what He saw His Father doing who knows the mind of God?
  23. I think Mary Magdaline had seven demons cast out of her, one good way to pick unwanted spirits is joining yourself with others where your flesh becomes as one, one place to get a spiritual transfusion. then again you have to imagine what kind of work could a demon possessed girl hold, and what would these demons be driving her to do, what behaviors do demons provoke their subjects to do while its not stated in scripture, considering the all the people Jesus chose to be His disciples, it only makes sense that He had a few ex-prostitutes hanging around
  24. If your in a church that believes they're the only ones saved then I would suggest going elsewhere, as the body of Christ exist across the world and not one church is ever identified as being the only church, at the very least we see seven churches that some are found in each one worthy of wearing the white robe and at least five churches were prepared
  25. No. Not at all. God will certainly chastise His children, but our salvation is still secure - because it's not based on what we do, but what Jesus did, on the cross. If keeping our salvation is based on our performance in any way, then we can rightfully claim part of God's glory for ourselves. We can proudly declare we have a share in redemption and deserve some of the praise reserved for God. I'm sorry, but you are starting to sound pharisaical - heaping rules upon people - until they are so weighed down, they are crushed. The reason Scripture states the things you quoted, is to show once and for all that nobody can keep the law - because God requires perfection for anyone to enter His Kingdom. Perfection in thought, word and deed. That's the reason why Jesus said if you even lust after a woman, as far as God is concerned, it's the same as committing the act of adultery. Or if you hate your brother, you are a murderer. As a matter of fact, the Bible says that anyone who tries to continue on with the Law after salvation is under a curse. Actual believers do strive to obey God, but it is out of love and reverence for what He did to save us - not out of obligation. We will still fall, because we are still in the flesh. Whether you accept it or not, we will all remain sinners until we go to glory. Some will go on to great rewards, and some will arrive "as if through fire" having all of their works deemed worthless. Remember, even Paul said, "I am the chief of all sinners" not "I was." I think you should look into the two different kinds of sin, as stated in 1 John 5:16-17 we know that we all sin, but do we all live in sin that leads to death that is the difference between sin, grasping this truth will be very helpful to your walk
