  1. I am firm about what I believe. But I am not so close-minded that I can't see and understand and appreciate another persons point of view. Have I changed my views and opinions with time and experience and age, or "flip-flopped" as you put it- yes but I don't go back and forth with the wind or to please people. I think, consider and study the issue, whether Biblical, moral. political and come to point of view or call it a draw.
  2. Hard as it is, you have to rise above and pray for them. Because if you don't and feel hate or any feeling like it, you only poison and burden yourself with that negativiity and that drowns and drains you and chips away at you, even unconsciously.
  3. I do not think anything anything can ever be "new " again- nor would we want it to be- we need all our experiences, memories, and journeys to be a part of our growth. But we don't have to dwell on them or keep them alive and festering. We let them slumber and become small so we have room for a new journey- a clean heart.
  4. In the Garden and the two mentioned by Dawn, above
  5. I believe In God and Jesus too. But there are parts of the Bible I cannot believe are true, for instance the first 10, or is it 11 books of Geneisis. And many other things, including numbers given. Some things I believe absolutely. But I do believe in the lessons learned and the peoples journeys and the messages. What else is more important? Your Christian walk has to be renewed every day- be careful of who you listen to and who you use as role models. We only really have 1 good one as far as I know! Don't pay attention to self-righteousness because that is all it is, tell them to examinre themselves first. Remeber about the splint in the eye? Let them remove their own first. Good luck on your journey.
  6. Well, the Vatican can and does make mistakes. The Jews have always been and will remain the chosen people. That cannot change. what has changed is that some of them now accept Jesus as Messianic.
  7. My Pastor and I disagree a lot about interpretations of some Scripture. Granted he is an educated Pastor, but also I have been to seminary and have a Mastors in Theology. We listen to each other and respect each others opinion and it never affects our relationship. I feel sad that it did in this case. I hope reconciliation happens. It is okay to hold on to your own beliefs and still maintain a relationship. I will pray for healing to occur. I am sorry you are so deeply affected by this. Maybe you can be a mediator?
