  1. "Since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you."
  2. Between you and me my accusers wish I was...so they could better handle me....but if you wish to know my back ground I use to be Catholic....now I'm just a messianic gentle without a earthly church I am not in a position to "handle" anyone, and hope I am not an "accuser"! You said that you used to be Catholic. I'll ask the obvious, and I am sorry if this is too personal. You can just ignore me and I will not be offended, and hope you are not by my questions. You believe you were wrong about Catholicism. At the time you "were" Catholic, were you convinced that it was "right"? [ unless you were a child at the time you accepted those teachings ] If so, then you know all too well that being convinced of what is "right" may not be one's "final answer".
  3. My apologies. I thought you were asking for opinions on Bible versions. My earlier question to you now seems moot.
  4. "No, I consider myself a Christian mystic (as in knowing God, and He reveals Himself to me and communicates with me directly)." "Well, I did get a bit mixed up during some things that happened to me during my return to God, but I was raised Christian, believe Christ is the Son of God, and confessed with my mouth that "Jesus is Lord" again when I returned to ensure that I was saved. I just got bit overly obsessed with God the Father and was a bit unsure how to handle Christ as the Gatekeeper as that relates to mysticism when it comes to faith--how to ensure that I was making Him my Rock instead of becoming overly dependent on God, the Father. I believe Muslims and Christians believe in the same God, but we may not go to the same place in the afterlife." I am not trying to corner you but if God speaks to you directly, then how can you be unsure?
  5. Oh, THAT battle. I don't think guns will help. "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:"

  7. InChrist, Are you a Jehovah's Witness? Sorry to take the topic off-track.
  8. Ezra, I only meant that they were dead. I apologize for any offense.
  9. I wonder what Paul would think if he could hear all the different ways his words have been interpreted many years after he died? I can't even fathom how my own words are taken, moments after I type them. I will tell you that the spirit behind my words is love. I don't have the gift of answers.
  10. I am not interested in a debate or argument. You answered my question (with your question).. I will answer yours without a a question. If what I love and has been given to me by God is threatened, I would use whatever means I had to protect them from certain harm (this I know). If God judges me as wrong for doing so, then I would accept His righteous judgement. Peace be with you.
  11. So, are you saying it is wrong for a follower of Christ to own a weapon?
  12. Yes Isn't he a Muslim? Not anymore. Yes,I will use that in a past tense. Was this person a Muslim? Yes, however a lot of their poetic writings reflected Hinduism.
  13. I felt that point was important as well the_patriot2015. It may seem a small point to some, and maybe contentious to others. Prophesy had to be fulfilled, and was. I do not covet weapons, or do I even feel comfortable around them. Then again, I have seen cars used as weapons (which was not designed for that usage). It is a matter of intent. One can find (if so motivated), a weapon in almost anything, including words.
  14. (roughly translated quote); "Stop acting so small. You are the universe in ecstatic motion.” -Rumi
