  1. I am glad I have to answer to my merciful Father instead of you.
  2. So there is no verse...didn't think so. Smoking is a manmade sin. Do you drink coffee? Do you drink anything other than water? Dangerous chemicals can be found in just about everything we eat and drink...and touch. Look at all the things that went into the making of the computer you are on right now. I bet you could find a chemical or two that would be considered dangerous. And I would be willing to bet you are addicted to it. The computer that is. And you are right...there is much talk about purity...but the purity that is spoken of is purity of the heart. Read what Christ has to say to the scribes and pharisees. He too speaks of purity. Care to respond to the rest of this? I enjoy coffee in moderation. No sin in that. The Lord promises us safety and that things that would harm us won't. Mark 16... And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Wait a minute...I'm confused. You are saying that smoking (even in moderation) is a sin but coffee isn't (even though it is not healthy) because the Lord promises us safety and that things that would harm us won't. Sounds like a contradiction.
  3. Read the whole chapter...what is it talking about? 1 Tim 5 19-22 is talking about accusation against an elder. It say's not to be prejudice or partial when it comes to deciding if "this person has sinned". Don't lay hands on him hastily..."don't accuse" because everyone else is accusing him (don't share in their sin of accusation) unless you are convinced with evidence that the accusation is true. Keep yourself pure (motives) when deciding to agree or disagree with the accusers. In other words don't agree with the accusers just to agree before knowing the truth.
  4. Are you absolutely sure that the Holy Spirit who resides in you (if you know the Lord) would be happy to have you ingest poison-laden smoke into your lungs? Think about it some more. It is not what goes into the body, but what comes out. The Holy Spirit resides in the heart...not the lungs. I know that the Word tells me in 1 Corinthians 6:19: "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;" What does that say to you? Read the whole chapter... It tell's me in 1 Corinthians 6: that the main vein of the conversation is about sexual sin. In verse 18 it say's Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. If you want to go along that same line of thinking then it would be a sin to eat greasy food, drink soda pop and eat sweets because in my opinion those things are just as unhealthy as smoking.
  5. First you have to be clear what is a sin and what is not.... In my opinion smoking is not a sin... smoking 14 packs a day might be a sin just like gluttony or drinking alcohol in excessive amounts. As far as "little white lies" to get a massage...why not just tell the truth?
  6. I have 2 questions. 1. I am white and I adopt an Asian child...the child gets sick and needs blood, our blood matches, so I give blood and they use it for the child...does that make the child white? 2. If we all became Jews when we were born again than why did Paul continue to call Gentile belivers Gentiles instead of Jews?
  7. Very interesting...but I couldn't navigate it very well. When I would click it to move to the right or left or up or down it would bounce back to the original spot.? I'll try again later.
  8. That made me jump.... also gave me goose bumps! What a great clip...thanks for sharing it.
  9. I got it to work. Thank you for posting...I needed reminding.
  10. I keep getting... "The page cannot be displayed"
  11. I was in bed when my roomate came yelling down the hall to wake up. I had been up a short time watching when the second plane hit the second tower.
  12. I love the pics. I really like the one's of the inside's of the church's. Did you take the pic's? Thanks for sharing!
  13. Beautiful! Gave me goose bumps.
  14. Thank you for the scripture but could you tell me what you believe they are saying in regards to those raised when Jesus was resurrected? I have always thought of Revelation as being in the future; not pertaining to these particular people. Does that make sense?
  15. That's my question to. Did they die again or did they get taken to heaven with Jesus? This is probably one of those questions we won't get the answer to until we meet Jesus.
  16. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; (Mat 27:51) And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, (Mat 27:52) And came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. (Mat 27:53) What do you think happened to these people?
  17. I could have lived without this information! I'll never eat anything red again.
