  1. shiloh, why would the messiah sit in the temple and have sacrifices going on? He is the sacrafice,
  2. Answer: The Bible mentions that some end-times events will occur in a temple in Jerusalem (Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15). Second Thessalonians 2:4, speaking of the Antichrist, tells us, "He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God." The Prophet Ezekiel described a temple that has as of yet never existed (Ezekiel chapters 40-48).
  3. what! the book of Daniel has this info Really? Please show me. In the middle of the week, the sacrifices ceased (already happened), then the city and temple were to be destroyed (already happened). The prophesy in Daniel 9 has already been fulfilled. If you look up Matt 24:15 and Luke 21:20, we see the 'desolation' as being the Roman armies. I don't see anything in here that talks about the prophecy concerning the seals and trumpets, which has come to be known as the Tribulation. Having grown up steeped in dispensationalism and turned partial-preterist after studying, I do not feel at this point I am well qualified to debate partial-preterism without mixing it up with some of my previous beliefs. And even after I come to further conclusion, I might still believe in aspects of both. All I know at this point, is the more I study the Bible, and having never read a commentary on preterism of any kind, I find myself seeing the prophesies as having already been fulfilled more and more. Answer: The seven seals (Revelation 6:1-17; 8:1-5), seven trumpets (Revelation 8:6

An understanding of Daniel 9:24-27 is necessary in order to understand the purpose and time of the Tribulation. This passage speaks of 70 weeks that have been declared against "your people." Daniel's "people" are the Jews, the nation of Israel, and what Daniel 9:24 speaks of is a period of time that God has given "to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place." God declares that "70 weeks" will fulfill all these things. It is important to understand that when "70 weeks" is mentioned, it is not speaking of a week as we know it (7 days). The Hebrew word (heptad) translated as
  5. Daniel 9:27 gives a few highlights of the 7-year Tribulation period. This verse says, "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate." The person of whom this verse speaks is the person Jesus calls the "abomination that makes desolate" (Matthew 24:15) and is called
  6. Sha Alu Shalom Yirushalayim (Pray for the peace of Jerusalem)... not the "piece" of Jerusalem... ps 122:6
  7. Its evident that our nation is leaving the word of God out. God calls this kind of union an abomination. And the word says... God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he them. And God blessed them, And God said unto them Be fruitfull and multiply and replenish the earth. (ish) male and (ishah) female.
  8. ps 121;4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep .

  10. shalom all! i hope you dont mind me posting a scripture , i read through the discussion, looked at the links, and looked up scripture for an answer, i found Acts 8; beginging in verse 5, simon the sorcerer, Then phillip went down to the city of samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the ppl with one accord gave heed unto those things which phillip spake, hearing and seeing the miricles which he did.For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice came out of many that were possessed with them, and many that were taken with palsies, and that were lame were healed. and there was great joy in the city, But there was a certain man called simon which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewithched the ppl of samaria. giving out that himself was some great one. v10 To whom they akll gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.And to him (simon) they had great regard.because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries,(this is not simon peter)But when they believed Phillip preaching the things concerning the the Kingdom of God ,and the jesus Christ, they were babtiz, men and women,Then simon believed also; and continued with Phillip and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. now when the apostles which were at jerusalem heard that samaria had recieved the word of God they sent unto them Peter and John.who, when they came down prayed for them that they might recieve Holy Ghost,(for as yet he was fallen upon none of them, only they were babtized in the name of the Lord Jesus, then laid they their hands on them, and they recieved the holy Ghost. v18 and when simon saw that through laying on of the apostles hands the Holy spirit was given he offered them money, saying give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands he may recieve the Holy Ghost,But peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.......
  11. this Book to me is alive!,it comforts me, its a path to eternal life, it teaches us about life , and tells all how to come through any problem we may face, it teaches us how to Love and forgive ,how to pray and how God is faithfull to hear our prayers, its promises are more precious than gold,it leads us to the author(sp) The King! Yeshua
  12. mark 16;15 GO into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (or person)He that believeth and is babtized shall be saved;but he tha tbelieveth not shall be damned and these signs shall follow them that believe,in my name (Yeshua) shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues, They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover,,, Amen! Luke 10,20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoice!,because your names are written in heaven
  13. I have no idea what we are even disagreeing about!!!!!! sw What we are disagreeing about, SW, is that our leaders may not be all they're cracked up to be. We are warned about great deceptions in the last days, maybe this could extend to so called nationalism. We brits are not so eager to salute the 'flag' as you Americans are. No offense meant. Time will tell. I take no offense but I see nothing terribly unbiblical about patriotism. Further, why are you so sure we are in the "last days"? There is no basis for that view. Once again you are not engaging me in specific policies by either Bush or Blair. I sense you are reading some things that are leading you away from the truth. The only things you have mentioned are conspiracy related ideas and that is revealing of your mindset. sw But, StWorm, Christians have always been taught that we are living in the last days. As for patriotism, I've nothing against it. I just think that where patriotism supercedes our requirements as Christians, our faith in Christ should come first, as should our loyalty. All I'm saying regarding the other stuff is, until we know and can demonstrate for sure that we are in the right, and we are not being deceived, we should at least band together and weigh up the possible options What are some examples where you believe that patriotism and policy have taken precedence over our Christian requirements? Also the last days means different things to different people. To some it means the return of Jesus is imminent. There is no evidence for that view since only God when that will happen. sw it is true knowone knows the day or the hour,But we do know when it is near,Matthew 24,7 is one example,2 tim3,1thess 4;15,18, The word tells us to not lean unto our own understanding,Israel is the key to phrophecy, keep your eyes on Jerusalem, pray for the peace of Israel. ps 122;6 a comforting scripture to me is Isaiah 57;1
