  1. I am curious, if you dont mind. What do you believe saves a person? What is your salvation based on?
  2. I just saw the junk food diet remark. That sums up my walk too, trying to eliminate junk food.
  3. Im not sure where I fit in. Some days I think, Im meat. Some days I think its a stretch just to get up to the milk Christian stage. I guess I will always need to grow, no matter how mature a Christian I get to be.
  4. Oakleaf, good to hear from you. Jesus gave words of care and compassion to people, as well as express concern about their salvational state. We are encouraged to exhort each other, and show mercy to one another in times of need.
  5. I firmly believe that the Lord will reveal Himself to all who seek Him. I trust in the Lord to be just in His judgements. Praise God for His mercy.
  6. Im guessing that he thinks that since islam believes in A Jesus, that it must be the same as Our Jesus. Sadly though, the Isa (Jesus) of islam is not the same. It is clearly a different belief altogether. Nor does islam have faith in Isa as the means of salvation. Here comes the one world religion.
  7. Whether it is pre, mid or post, I pray that I can continue to follow the Lord faithfully, and if necessary, die as Stephen did, with my face heavenward seeing God's glory, and not caring about death. I trust in Him to see me through.
  8. The bible is given to us as His word. Georgiabluesgirl, do you not believe that the bible is the word of God?
  9. Im sorry, but I have to add this comment I once heard years ago............ Even if you win the rat race, you are still a rat.
  10. I have resisted this thread all day. I cant beleive this was an issue for her. I was a tomboy, played with trucks, built forts, caught frogs......never owned a barbie, hated dolls. My friends were boys. I was as tomboy as you can get. I dont wear makeup or wear fancy clothes. But never once did I ever doubt that I was all female. Never once did I ever think of women as I do men....or more properly, my husband now. That show was ridiculous. Those kids were being taught to regard themselves as different. This world gets filled with more garbage and sin every day.
  11. (Gets the popcorn out for this) Thanks for the picture, it is nice to see a face with the name.
  12. Romans 8: 26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. That verse says that when you pray, the Holy Spirit is right there, so no matter what you say, you cant mess it up. Your prayers are heard. He knows what you need. Philippians 4:6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. God wants to hear from you about everything. Nothing is too small to talk to the Lord about. Thank Him for everything, ask Him for anything. (Although you probably wont win the lottery if you ask for that, see above regarding how the Holy Spirit intercedes in our prayers.) As for that peace, Ive felt it on many occassions. If you are interested in the formal form of prayer, then take a look at the Lord's prayer. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, Praise to God your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Acknowledgement of His will, not mine, be done Give us today our daily bread. Prayer requests Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Forgiveness for sins And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one Keep us safe from temptations and satan This breaks down to: 1) Praise to God 2) Acknowledgement of His will, not mine, be done 3) Prayer requests 4) Forgiveness for sins 5) Keep us safe from temptations and satan When all is said and done, the best way to pray, is from the heart, any way you can talk to God from the heart. Thank Him for little things, talk to Him about big things. Conversationally, formally, it doesnt matter. Just approach Him with a humble heart. I hope this helps.
  13. Hi Steve, Someone in questions to the editor asked this same question this week, and one of the board moderators answered by refering to this tutorial link. I hope this helps.
  14. Jesus was about: salvation and the kingdom of God
  15. I guess the one that always stays by me, when I need it the most is in my sig line Philippians 4 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  16. All interesting responses so far, looking forward to more thoughts on this.
  17. The Lord never leaves us. It is not too late to return to Him. He longs for that relationship with us.
  18. Praise the Lord Steve. I am still so very happy.......and yes, still crying with joy. May the good Lord bless you and keep you safe. No one can snatch you from His hands now. Our family of God rejoices, as does all of heaven. Sojc, I like that line: 1 down, 1 billion or so more to go.
  19. Welcome Magster and Santa Monica I hope you enjoy worthy. (Resumes lurking)
  20. Yes, Moses cant be one of the two witnesses, since it is appointed to man to die but once....and Moses died already. (which actually brings to mind another question......is it necessary for the two witnesses to be Elijah and Enoch? cant they be new people?) Law and Prophets, that is an interesting comment. Jesus did say the Law and the Prophets hung on loving your Lord and your neighbor.
  21. In the transfiguration, Moses and Elijah are with Jesus. Any thoughts as to why it is these two who appear and not other OT personages?
