  1. Whenever I read this passage in Job, I think of a brachiosaur (brontosaurus). Although according to modern paleontology brachiosaurs did not eat grass, the Lord made everything within a few days, and they would just as easily eat grass as anything else. One species of brachiosaur is the largest dinosaur known, either ultrasaurus or supersaurus (I cant remember which of the recent discoveries is the largest). Early on in my Christian life, when I still beleived in evolution, I tried hard to see this as an elephant, or anything else, but I cant.
  2. If Jesus came to my home..... After I fainted and revived, I'd fall at his feet sobbing. Im too much a sinner to ever forget my unworthiness of God's grace.
  3. I am an RR refugee of sorts. I still go there, but have not liked some of the recent discussions. I have also gone to Infidels and sciforums to debate. Ialso go to a "personal" board of some friends, just to keep up on things. I like worthy boards the best I think.
  4. I mentioned the moral laws in the OT, not specific ceremonial laws. And many of these were modified in the NT. For example all food is now considered good, that is mentioned somewhere in the epistles. No, we dont put mediums ot death, but we should not consult one, and speak out against this. The priests and infections are also not part of the moral law. Read the old laws and see what the moral implications are, and see where they've been addressed in the NT. Most importantly, follow the convictions given to you by the Holy Spirit, that is God letting you know where you should focus in your life.
  5. Adstar you have no idea the impact your words have on me. I am facing a similar sort of situation, only not with a church, but another kind of ministry. Unfortunately God has shown me I am not yet to leave, but it is hard to recognize that it has fallen away and is dead. Thank you for showing me that it is indeed a dead or dying ministry.
  6. My sister in law is muslim. I live in a predominantly mormon area. I have to have some idea of what their beliefs entail or I cannot defend against it. Nor can I witness without knowing where their beliefs differ from mine. It is not for those weak in faith, but neither should all of us remain ignorant of the false doctrines out there either. Just my view.
  7. Just my opinion....... Although under the new covenant we are no longer under the Law of Moses, God desires we live a holier lifestyle. Only recently did I realize that perhaps the guidelines for that life can be found in the moral part of the law of Moses. Not that following it will save you, but that using it as a guideline for how God wants us to live might be a better way to view it. Some modifications to this were made in the NT, but otherwise, I think that may be a way to understand how God wishes us to be from a moral standpoint. I am still studying this for myself to see how this fits into the Christian life. As far as the sabbath, I beleive there is a scripture in the epistles that states that everyday should be viewed as the Lord's day, a sabbath day. So Saturday or Sunday really doesnt make any difference. Since all of the bible points to the fall of man and God's plan for mankind's salvation, both the Old and New testaments are important to us. Jesus isnt confined to the NT or the Gospels. He is to be found in the OT as well. Both are important to beleivers.
