  1. I have addressed the OP and very clearly I might add. I was very kind in my response to you and again you have attacked me as though I did something wrong to you. I have reported both posts to the moderator.
  2. First off I am not sure what I did or said that made you so angry with me. All I did was responded to your post and the fact that there is no scriptural evidence of what your OP was all about. Yes I agree that you put Luke 24 in your post but that doesn't mean it supported anything. I also didn't say anything that others had said before me. Also I do not argue I discuss. I am not here to win arguments or discussions I'll let God's Word prove whether a discussion's point is true or valid. I am here on this site because I love the Lord and His Word. While I know that I don't know everything about God and even His Word (no one does) I do know when things are not right or true based upon my reading and studying of God's Word. I am also not sure what I said was self-destructive. If standing for God's Word is self-destructive then I guess that is that case but I won't stop trusting what God's Word has to say. I may not always have the answers and I know there are many more on this thread that know way more than I do, but I do know when an opinion is based up God's Word and when scripture is trying to be "fit" into an opinion. For the sake of keeping this thread clear of attack I won't respond to anything in here anymore. I apparently upset the OP and that was not intentional at all. Bottom line is God's Word will either prove the opinion right or wrong. And as I said I will always stand by what God says and not what someone's opinion is not matter how sincere they are about their opinion.
  3. Emphasizing is one thing providing scriptural support is a while other matter. What I'm gathering from this quote anyway is that emotion is somehow creating a belief in something that isn't supported by scripture. Throwing around a couple verses here and there just support. Its just throwing something out there blindly hoping at least one verse will be a hit. I'm sure that the disciples were sad and in mourning. But it doesn't prove that Jesus fasted the fast of Esther which is what this post is all about. If quote scripture if I could on this one. The problem is there is absolutely no evidence in the gospels that Jesus fasted the fast of Esther. So I wouldn't even no where to begin. However this verse I think is appropriate for this discussion 1 John 4:1 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world". Not saying that you are a false prophet however we must be careful we are not trying to add to the gospel or try to make something truth that really isn't there.
  4. I'm not I follow you thought process here. What are is that it is ok for you to not post scripture to back up your opinion yet others have to. I have to agree with several posters on this thread that you need to give scripture to support your belief versus others doing it for you. Also can you clarify something for me with your last part of the quote. Are you saying that if we don't accept the poor interpretation of scripture being given that we aren't Christians? I would think that as believers we would actually see it and then defend against it. A non believer wouldn't do that because they don't know God's Word. Just curious.
  5. Read my last statement in my quote. Never once did I give credit to the pope for saying it. My point was that the statement is a good one and needs consideration
  6. Still doesn't prove that it is fake news. But we can agree to disagree. However I think it is still a good point that needs some attention
  7. First off I do agree with you concerning Satan and I totally believe that we are to resist the devil and flee from him James 4:7. However this is completely different than loving a person. I think you are confused as to how this works. A human being has a soul that needs to be saved. They need to know Christ like you and I do. However you cannot compare a human being to Satan. Sure those that don't know Christ will experience God's Wrath but that doesn't mean we stopping loving them and showing them the truth. And if we are persecuted or die by there hands it isn't our position to condemn them. They will have to answer to God just like you and I do. I do have a thought though Ezra. Before you and I were saved weren't we enemies of God? According to Romans 5:10 we are. So based upon your statement I would take no one should be shown love because we are all enemies of God prior to salvation. Just something to think about. I do agree that we need to protect ourselves and our nation from groups that want to harm us. However we do need to show compassion because these people groups do not God or His Son. I am not being naive here and will protect my family however I do have compassion and we pray for them because as I said they are in need of a Savior. We need to be praying that God would use people to reach them for Christ even if only a few are saved. Unfortunately Ezra this verse really doesn't support your argument. Paul didn't condemn Simon. Nor did he show hate towards Simon. As a matter of fact Paul was still loving and and compassionate towards Simons soul. Paul pointed out Simons heart issue and then told Simon what he needed to do. I know we can agree to disagree but I would be hard pressed to find somewhere in scripture that we are to hate those that need a Savior.
  8. How do you know it is fake news? If you can prove that it is fake news that would be great and we can go from there. Also those side things that you see are there for paid advertisements. I know because I am able to get them on my own website as well if I so choose. You click on it and it will take you to an advertisement not an actual article. Those links are full of spyware and malware as well. Regardless if it is fake news or not the point being made is a pretty good one and I agree with it wholeheartedly.
  9. Can you clarify this a bit further Ezra? I don't think Jesus was saying to love your personal enemies. Based upon your viewpoint here Ezra you are saying that if we don't have a personal enemy we are not to love them? For example we know ISIS is an enemy that affects many people in many places including where you and I live. Would I defend myself against them? Yes. Would I allow them in my home as friends? No. However remember that God loves them and desires that they come to know the truth. We must pray from the and love them. It doesn't mean I approve of their behavior or actions. Not even by a long shot. Sure criminals will face justice and they should. It is called consequences. However remember that these people are also made in the image of God and need a Savior. No denying that. And if we have that attitude of only loving personal enemies then we have now compassion on these people. Unless they know Christ they are lost and on their way to hell to spend an eternity apart from God. Again we have to use common sense but we can still love the person regardless of their actions. So yes Jesus was telling the people that any enemy that affects our lives should be loved. Love doesn't mean we look over the action. It means that we look at the heart which causes the action and ISIS, criminals, rapists, etc don't know Christ and as a result their sinful heart is what controls their actions.
  10. No offense but this sentence absolutely makes no sense and on top of that did not answer OneLight's question at all. Not even by a long shot. In all the verbose language and jumbled up sentences I have come up with a conclusion: I have no idea what message the OP is trying to convey. Here though is the answer to the OP's post title: What are we to do when the gospel is presented to us? We have a choice, a very simple one at that, whether we believe that Christ died for our sins and rose again to complete that work. Or we reject the gospel and continue to live in unbelief. I think it is pretty simple really.
  11. To answer the OP's question I think we should always report suspicious behavior. We should just turn a blind eye to it. Now with terrorism on the rise I think it is that much more important to keep an eye out for it. I don't think we have to be paranoid about it but still be aware of our surroundings and what is going on.
  12. Monopoly for girls? Jenga for girls? and Twister for girls? What are we coming to? We live in such a weird and wacky world. I thought these games for the most part were gender neutral. Trust me my daughter likes the classic monopoly game and does not feel that she needs a game catered to her gender to enjoy it.
  13. First I see a declarative statement here. You say "Most are going back to the 12". Do you have some really good evidence for this? I find that quite a few Christians will make declarative statements without actually doing the research. This is more of an observation. Also not sure why we keep referring to the 12 apostles when they didn't have any authority apart from Christ. Their message was the gospel of Jesus Christ which is the same for the Jews and Gentiles. There is not separate message for either one. God chose Paul to go to the gentiles but he wasn't given a brand new revelation of what to preach. Maybe I am not following the conversation well enough of something. If I am getting something out of this that isn't there I apologize. However whatever is being said is very confusing and seems to not make any sense most of the time. I also think the lack of strong scriptural support to back up the opinion is lacking. Because of this a whole bunch of red flags go up in my mind that there is something a bit off with the OP's argument.
  14. While I sort of understand what you are saying it is a bit unclear. What I think is missing from this post is scripture. I don't see scripture to back up your viewpoint. Also just as a side note the gospel is Paul's. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ that Paul and the apostles preached. If we don't use scripture to back up our viewpoints then we are dealing with opinions and human thought. I understand that a lot of Christians, including myself, say things that sound godly and biblical but when we look into scripture we find that God says something different.
  15. Reported to the moderators.
  16. Ok I can see that this conversation is going away from the original post and feel that it is also going nowhere. I think I will respectfully bow out from the conversation and let others discuss this conversation. I thought I asked a good question about 911 but I see that I won't get a good answer.
  17. Shiloh thanks for the great response here. The OP is just cutting a pasting verses in the hopes that one of them will fit his opinion. Sadly though all of them have missed the mark.
  18. Your quote, "Well if you want to put you trust in main stream media that's up to you. History tells us that the masses have been lied to and decived since the dawn of time. I prefer to study and think for myself. " did not answer my question. The facts are there that is was Al-Qaeda. Main stream media didn't lie to me. Al-Qaeda owned up to the act. But back to my point who do you think was behind 911? If you had answered my question satisfactorily I wouldn't ask again.
  19. You still have not answered my question: Who do you think was behind 911?
  20. Sadly I think this tells me enough that conspiracy theories are part of the OP's whole argument. This bothers me because his belief in conspiracy theories is influencing his interpretation of scripture. The belief in conspiracy theories should not be confused or mixed up with scripture. Scripture should always guide us and our thinking. Stories that haven't even been proven true should not. I would still like answer to my question of who he thinks was behind 911 if at all possible.
  21. Yowm that is a great point about telling a Jew he needs to become a Christian. Never really thought about it that way. I guess I just take the name of Christian for granted many times. Definitely a good thought.
  22. Standing with Israel is because they are God's people. Not sure why you don't seem to see that. God told Abraham in Genesis 12:3 "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." Not sure why I wouldn't stand with God's people. Second they want their land back. And I support that. What I am finding is people who do not believe God and His Word are trying to stop it and are siding with the wrong side. The Jews aren't doing whatever they like, not even sure where that is coming from, they are just doing what they believe the need to do to get their land back.
  23. Who was behind 911? I thought we all know who was behind that attack. It was Al-Qaeda. Sounds to me like there is a conspiracy theory here that somehow is influencing your train of thought. I could be wrong though. I am curious as to who you think was behind 911.
  24. I guess I am confused. Is this a prophetic discussion or do I support Israel discussion? The original post said, "I Stand With Israel?" I was just answering the question. However you seem to want to take into a prophetic discussion which quite frankly doesn't really answer the question. I will let other's go into the prophecies with you. But I stand by my comment and will support Israel because they are God's people and also will support their expansion because quite frankly they are wanting to take their land back. So yes I support Israel.
  25. This statement is incorrect. Numbers 20:9 - 13 says why Moses couldn't enter the promised land ,"So Moses took the staff from the Lord’s presence, just as he commanded him. He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?” Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.” These were the waters of Meribah,[a] where the Israelites quarreled with the Lord and where he was proved holy among them." Moses did not enter the promised land because he disobeyed God.
