Dealing with Non-Religious Parents
Neighbor replied to a topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Just a little contrasting humor from real life: Years ago, decades ago, more than half a century ago, gals dressed in two manners too; and one was an advertisement of how cheaply the "merchandise" may be bought. Seems to be the dominant style of today. And yet I was attracted to a gal that walked past my family's home in a Girl Scout uniform complete with sash and merit badges. I married her! We had over a half century together. -
Psychedelics for mental health treatment, good or evil?

But what if I "think" YOU might break a law. Best I report you within 10 days of my having that thought lest I later be found to have dismissed my suspicion and then YOU actually did break a law of some kind? Woe is me for not sharing my suspicion. Then sadly we hear of the latest USA school shooting activist having had many notices by others concerned about his rants on the internet given the USA's FBI. Can't depend on others, reporting suspicions is just so much "CYOA" motion, and not any real real preventive that will result in action. Well except to be able to arrest someone for NOT reporting a suspicion to an agency of government. Can you imagine the counter suits that will come from reporting when nothing illegal has happened or a person is found innocent? Life with many rules that accomplish little to nothing- all while kids forced into daily jungle that is "school" get hurt or killed even. Pray for kids, by name if known!

Slightly yes, but end result is pretty similar, a fear of prosecution/persecution for not noticing what may or may not be happening. If someone says a wrong word they must be reported within 10 days or any person that may have heard it is guilty of "something" to be punished. Should make for a swell working environment. Going to be very hard to build a team tht "pulls together" with these kinds of edicts. Anyway it is just news of the day that tripped my memory bank. Glad I am "retired", saddened for those not so fortunate that must endure this kind of intimidation and fear mongering in the workplace.

Federal employees asked to report colleagues who try to 'disguise' DEI From BBC News today Kayla Epstein US reporter Federal employees are currently bracing for change and upheaval as the Trump administration settles in. Employees at one agency received an email asking them to report any efforts by colleagues to "disguise" DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) programmes in their offices, according to a notice shared with me. Failure to report such information within 10 days would lead to "adverse consequences," the email said. US government employees always experience some changes with each presidential transition, but with his executive orders, Trump has signaled he plans to wrench the federal workforce in a very different direction.

Hi, The post quoted reminds me once again of all those that were determined to share of our Lord with me, doing so in oh so many ways and styles over the many yers that I always rejected. Some were kind, some were brutal, yet when the Holy Spirit came upon me at my own awakening or new birth I remembered how each of them had tried so hard to enlighten me. It was like a flash back experience. One that I recall bits of every now and again as life's situations provoke my memory. So for that reason at least, I suggest there is no really wrong testimony style for a Christian. Perhaps the "problem" is only in the mind(s) of the various witnesses and other Christians of Christ Jesus,- if each think they are the one that will reap a harvest instead of being planters of seeds or tenders of fields.

Hi, I suggest give no response on facebook. Let it ride and be in prayer, plus perhaps select a Bible as a gift to her. Might include a card that reads something like "saw your interesting post on face book, thought you might enjoy having for your own collection a study bible similar to the one I have found very useful. May God bless you, as you also bless God."

They are teasers of Christians, BUT they serve a good purpose too, that of challenging each Christian on message forums to learn why they know what they know, and then to be patient, not expecting an amazing turnabout by a teaser. God will handle that turning at His good timing if He wills it to happen. If a teaser's heart is further hardened that is the will of God, is it not? One cannot blame others for their own folly. Each that are turned about are turned by God the Holy Spirit.

Tidbit from WIKI "The Corps personnel play fifes, bugles, snare drums, and bass drums. Obtaining the instruments posed a challenge, as only a few manufacturers produce historical instruments. In 2012, a batch of 20 drums were produced in Basel, Switzerland, home to the Carnival of Basel, where a long tradition of marching drums and piccolo flutes is alive.[3] In 2023, the Corps introduced a new set of drums manufactured by Loyal Drums in Woodbridge, VA. The fifes were built in Switzerland by Skip Healy of the Healy Flute Company, a professional musician and U.S. ex-pat." Anyway it was quite the day yesterday. Kind of glad for the lousy here weather that left me nothing much to do but burn out my eyeballs watching from morning into night. Oh the early in the day part had a poor Secret Service agent trembling with the cold weather blowing his tie and open summer weight suit coat till his hands and arms shook as he stood at the closed door to the "Beast" the Presidential Cadillac SUV with the President elect in it. I kept staring at him wondering if he was going to make it or freeze, or have to run beside it like the old days, or what. Finally a lady replaced him that had a coat on, then a tiny tiny tiny almost midget tiny lady replaced her. I guess all were secret service agents. What a job!

I was wondering about the Red Coats amongst the several military bands on review; who are they? Red Coats? ??? They were indeed an outstanding part of the review with their fife and drum marching. I still don't know about the uniforms though. Will have to look up what I might find. Ahha some fascinating information is at https://fifeanddrum.army.mil/faq.html

Hi all, Having nothing to do Monday ( Lousy weather here) I watched some twelve hours of TV channel flipping the inauguration of the 47th President of the USA. Very impressive series of ceremony and tradition, despite the talking head's commentaries interrupting way too often. I am pleased to have lived long enough to have seen so many and yet nothing like this one! What a kick, quite the entertaining day; pomp, ceremony, prayers and rather odd prayer too, awesome ceremony and singers, and low crass entertainment by five marching band drum majors holding their crouch with one hand while dancing a jig together and waving their batons with the other arm as they paraded past the president- a more weird moment of the late in the day's proceedings. The day had it all, high ceremony, serious business, a call of Godliness though limited in scope, and some very WWE like jibs thrown about. Nothing like an Eisenhower nor Kennedy inauguration, but these are very different times too. I found myself enjoying it all -shame on me? What of you all anyone have a day to burn watching it all?

Trump threatens to take control of Panama Canal

Have a lot of native American friends do you. LOL I love Zola Levitt's line about Israel when he talks about whose land is it ( Israel) and the Title from God the only land grant from God. Another title to land being a matter of who won the battle for the land last. The winner owns it. The idea of land title being subject to the greater good of the most powerful at the expense of the less powerful might be a fact of life around the world, but how does a Christian justify taking whatever they want if they have to overwhelming power to do so? Do "you" champions of taking Panama, taking Greenland, also champion the power of government at all levels having the power to take YOUR own property by imminent domain for the highest and best use of the land as governments see fit, regardless of the title you may hold on it? (I) Bet if you own real property you don't cherish the idea that it can be taken away at the whim of what entity is more powerful than you. Well unless you are part of the" Sheriff of Nottingham's" legions of tax collectors and land grabbers. Doesn't seem Jesus like to me to be taking what belongs to others just because it will benefit you. -
https://nypost.com/2025/01/20/us-news/melania-trump-launches-cryptocurrency-ahead-of-inauguration/ cryptocurrency ahead of Inauguration By Emily Crane Published Jan. 20, 2025, 7:40 a.m. ET Melania Trump launched a meme coin on the eve of her husband’s inauguration — causing his own new cryptocurrency to briefly tank amid a buying frenzy. The incoming first lady dropped news of the cryptocurrency — “$MELANIA” — on Sunday night — just days after her husband, President-elect Donald Trump, revealed his own newly created $TRUMP coin. “The Official Melania Meme is live! You can buy $MELANIA now,” she said in a post on X. Melania Trump launched her own meme coin on the eve of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. melaniameme.com The coin was trading at about $12.03, with a market cap of $1.9 billion, early Monday, according to CoinMarketCap. Soon after the Melania token launched, the president-elect’s own coin briefly crashed as much as 40%, analysts at The Kobeissi Letter reported. Dave Portnoy says he made $1 million on Trump coin — immediately bet it on Bills to win Super Bowl 2025... ...“Melania memes are digital collectibles intended to function as an expression of support for and engagement with the values embodied by the symbol MELANIA. and the associated artwork, and are not intended to be, or to be the subject of, an investment opportunity, investment contract, or security of any type,” according to its website. Meanwhile, Trump’s cryptocurrency, which sparked a buying frenzy that saw the token skyrocket more than 300% within its first few hours, soared back Monday to nearly $12 billion in market value — drawing in billions in trading volume just hours ahead of his Inauguration Day festivities getting underway. Trump’s meme coin surged to $58.56 early Monday, giving it a market capitalization of about $11.7 billion, according to CoinMarketCap, which ranked it as the 18th biggest cryptocurrency. Its 24-hour trading volume reached $52.5 billion. The latest venture from the Trumps is the latest in a series of merchandise released by the Trump Organization in recent months, which has also been peddling Trump-branded sneakers, fragrances, Bibles and digital trading cards.

Robert Kennedy Jr. had a plan to make the USA the cyber currency capital of the world calling it the most massive growth industry and the way for the USA to dominate the world economy while reducing the USA debt/GDP ratio. His plan was to use the income to provide funds for first time home buyers to get 3% interest rate mortgages. look like he and trump have teamed up on this one in a way perhaps not previously envisioned with Trump holdings having 80% of this first Meme offering. But not to worry this will work out well for apartment dwellers the homeless and the widows and orphans. Watch it all trickle down like a supply of daily mana.

I do! What do you think of Trump Launching His Trump Crypto currency hours ago? Rhetorical question- -
Go to https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c9vmym2jvy9o to see imagery Trump launches cryptocurrency with price rocketing 3 hours ago Share Save Ana Faguy BBC News, Washington Getty Images US President-elect Donald Trump has launched his own cryptocurrency, which quickly soared in market capitalisation to several billion dollars. His release of the meme coin, $Trump, comes as he prepares to take office on Monday as 47th president of the US. The venture was co-ordinated by CIC Digital LLC - an affiliate of the Trump Organization - which has previously sold Trump-branded shoes and fragrances. Meme coins are used to build popularity for a viral internet trend or movement, but they lack intrinsic value and are extremely volatile investments. By Saturday afternoon, hours after its launch, the market capitalisation for $Trump reached nearly $5.5bn (£4.5bn), according to CoinMarketCap.com. CIC Digital LLC and Fight Fight Fight LLC, a company formed in Delaware earlier this month, own 80% of the tokens. It is unclear how much money Trump might make from the venture. "My NEW Official Trump Meme is HERE! It's time to celebrate everything we stand for: WINNING!" Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social as he announced the meme coin on Friday night. An image for the Trump coin on its website Some 200m of the digital tokens have been issued and another 800m will be released in the next three years, the coin's website said. "This Trump Meme celebrates a leader who doesn't back down, no matter the odds," the website said. Thousands protest in Washington against Trump It included a disclaimer noting the coin is "not intended to be, or the subject of" an investment opportunity or a security and was "not political and has nothing to do with" any political campaign, political office or government agency. Critics accused Trump of cashing in on the presidency. "Trump owning 80 percent and timing launch hours before inauguration is predatory and many will likely get hurt by it," Nick Tomaino, a crypto venture capitalist, said in a social media post. Such digital tokens are notorious for speculators using hype to pump up the value before selling at the top of the market, leaving latecomers to count their losses as the price crashes. Cryptocurrency investors are hoping the Trump administration will boost the industry. President Joe Biden's regulators cited concerns about fraud and money laundering as they cracked down on crypto companies by suing exchanges. Trump was previously skittish about cryptocurrency, but at a Bitcoin conference in Nashville last year he said America would be "the crypto capital of the planet" once he returned to Washington. His sons Erik and Donald Jr announced their own crypto venture last year. Bitcoin

Mike Pence an honest man doing his constitutional duty was not praised nor defended by then president Trump. President Trump said he likes winners, and derided Senator John McCain as being a loser for having been a prisoner of war. When the Trump Condo tower at Tampa failed he sued the contractor he had sold use of his his name to for a $1,000,000 fee he charged for use of his name ( The Apprentice Show). Many a local retiree lost a whole lot of their own money by putting deposits on those units. -
Interesting opening. Yet, for me it is unimportant who I am especially by comparison to who God is. That God has extended mercy upon me is certainly amazing. I live in awe of that daily.

Yep, have a little talk with Jesus. "Lord is it good between you and me?" Listening helps too, so that one ( Me as example) does not talk over the response.
