  1. The faith I live by is not my faith (For my faith can weaken and even fail me), but is in Yeshua's faith; therein is my hope certain. Of course signs are in the heavens as well as within the seasons, placed there by God the Son for reveal of times appointed by God the Father, to be revealed as encouragement and also warning by God the Holy Spirit for those called out to eternal life with God to be about the business of Yeshua's Father just as Yeshua has been, is, and will be, along with the Holy Spirit my comforter.
  2. As for myself I worship what is. I do so individually and also under a corporate privilege of church congregation fellowship. I just do not worry myself about the tapestries hanging on the walls of religion. Long as they do not form a barrier wall between what I worship and myself I am good with it all. The Holy Spirit sweeps on in when corporate worship is in play . The Holy Spirit is always there for me individually too, especially to take over for me when I cannot form words to describe my prayers.
  3. Hi, well I guess I am doomed to be the contrarian yet again. Or at least start there. For I can't help but think of and question then that God can and does turn some over to their own strong delusion. "God" and "their", where is Satan to be found in this? I cannot blame Satan and be excused because of him. I am accountable for myself. I was never innocent. I was born in sin; evidently capable of sin even before my birth, much as has been shared about Jacob and Esau wrestling in their mother's womb, jockeying for position; a wrestling (battle) that effects all of us to this day. Well at least me. I have only that hope that is certain to both fall back on and go forward with in total confidence and joy. That hope is in the faith of Jesus; His provision for me my eternal security with God Father Son and Holy Spirit. Satan did evidently deceive the first of wo-man; but the man the first man Adam was he deceived too? Seems not. The first Adam chose his lot, naively perhaps, deceiving himself perhaps. Satan the ruler over this present world, rails against God for sure, but is limited by God. He influences of course, but he does not foreknow nor predestine. He is a creation fallen, and not the creator. The question might be would Adam or Eve have eaten of the forbidden fruit if there were no Lucifer?
  4. Seems to me that at least one of the "we' was individually mistaken to suggest, or declare, that another is a judaizer. It was kind of funny though! Got a chuckle out of it anyway, went good with morning coffee and toast.
  5. Seems the creature behind my own "hardships" is me. I cannot blame another creature for my own standing before God. I have been judged an heir to sin against God, born into it, an heir to the consequential fall of the first Adam. I am found to be short of perfection from before my birth even, and yet I am loved by my creator Yeshua whom has reconciled the irreconcilable, making perfection of that which is not perfect, for me personally, to be likened as being perfect in His Father's sight. Punishment has occurred and yet is still to occur, judgement(s) has occurred and yet is to be faced. Time itself will face it's own end(s). The wrath, the just wrath of God the Father, is before me, and yet my hope is certain, absolute, for it is placed in the faith of Yeshua whose willing sacrifice has covered my sin against God. How do I maintain certainty of my own hope? I do not even do that by my own power, but instead by the gift of God the Holy Spirit indwelling within me that I am aware of the certainty that is hope certain. I cannot detach myself from responsibility, as heir of what I am I can only give thanks to God for his perfect provision for my eternity forward. That eternity being a timeless pardon, one without condition except knowing of it, through the Holy Spirit's reveal, to delight in it having been changed by it turned about away from my sin against God. And even that knowledge and or turning itself coming not from me, but from God alone. No other creature can I blame, no creature can I claim. I am of God, by God alone. His will being done as he wills it from before time itself to after time itself.
  6. As to sermons, I much prefer expository preaching/teaching, word by word through the Bible, to sermons. Why? Because those word by word studies give to me fuller expansion of the significance of the word being shared. All that I may have it come to mind as and when I have need of it. The word and it's fuller exposition being the armor honed and at the ready when I need it. Whereas a lecture, a sermon, is list of don'ts for the most part. Kind of useless to me within the world I face. I need have do's come to mind, not the don'ts, and I need have rather precise clarification that expository presentation provides.
  7. Interesting, but this rather stoic conservative individual sings like never before in his life and raises his arms, (when they will raise), not in outward expression, but as a unity of all my components, a manifestation of inner heart, mind, body, and soul. God knows my heart, - and so do I.
  8. Well seems to me what God the Father sees is the perfected person made so by God His son's sacrifice for that very purpose, all by God's doing alone and not by any precedence setting or any meritorious work or works of any man. For it is my understanding at least that it is all of God and of God alone that any are saved out from under the consequence of His just wrath.
  9. My story? In a nutshell, God prevails. Doesn't matter if I get "it" or not God still prevails.
  10. The warring presently going on at Israel is not different from the warring elsewhere. The goal by all sides is to kill the enemy. Some western nations try to make "civil" rules for warring like one cannot kill the head of a government, but then do it, and/or one cannot target civilians, but then do it anyway. One very bluntly honest warrior the allied supreme commander at that time made it very clear that he was going to bomb civilians, wiping out Berlin during WWII. Long as you win you are heroic. Only the losers are held to account by a so called world court or the world of courts. So it is best to not lose, at all costs do not lose, and all will be well. As for myself; I do believe that God has foreknown as well as predestined this war. He will hold to account all, as He sees fit, not as I might deem to be righteous or just, but how He sees fit, when He sees fit to do so. In the meantime I continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem; doing so knowing God answers prayer rightly asked. My own hope certain is placed in my Lord and personal savior Yeshua.
  11. There are some medical fields whose practitioners claim ALL illnesses are self inflicted, and are mental/spiritual (not physical) in nature. That one may will to be ill, or will not to be ill. Personal attitude towards one's self sure plays a huge part!- In practice of life I have found that to be so. And yes, I too fail to foresee and handle well what may be causing consternation (That's consternation!) at times, and it does often lead to manifestation in physical illness. If I ask myself, okay "What's the real issue here?" and face it, I heal almost immediately, if not avoid illness altogether. That said I was sick for a full two and half months recently, till I dealt with a serious issue rather than waffle on about it. Advice from the peanut gallery: Face life as it is, praising God in all circumstance, and be happy or at least "Quit y'belly aching". "When you laugh the world laughs with you, when you cry, you cry alone" is not an unfair appraisal.
  12. Hi all , Needing a little comic relief from the pomposity of views on this subject and that including my own, I gained relief this morning in the form of the parody song by Willie Nelson. Secular though it may be, I find it profoundly funny in that it points out who the enemy is; or as Pogo said in the Sunday comics of old "I have found the enemy and it is me".
  13. The basis for the presentation or argument seems to be built upon an error, or bluntly a lie followed in error, for one does not covet what is one's own, one cherishes and protects what God has granted one, but not covet. Regardless, the manifestations of war around the world, threaten to affect the interests of those that do control vast sums of money in trusts, supposedly held for common benefit of tax exempt organizations, run by trustees that benefit handsomely. The protests in the USA at university campuses is one such battle, where trustees of massive trust funds exempt from IRS /federal government taxation invest in stocks mostly common stocks of corporations. Such investment ( In the USA) is counter to the legal precedent set in 1964 (IRS vs Western Weymouth) that non profits may not invest in anything that is speculative in that it may lose value (Stocks), that all funds must be invested in US treasury notes. The idea that one will have to divest of investments in companies that do business with Israel is a bit of a red herring. One that if looked at closely will result in massive changes in how trustees of trusts invest as well as get compensated and how all such funds are invested. As to the horror of war and civil unrest around the world, now highly focused upon Israel but being fought out most everywhere, it is camouflage for the "useful idiots" to get excited over, while the very wealthy of this planet earth gather in ever more for themselves. Eventually it is all going to burn, and there will be a new heaven and a new earth. Till then, hey it is a tough place to be, this planet, but there is hope certain in Christ Jesus! So "hang on my child joy comes in the morning". It all is about that simple,- follow the money trail, but place total confidence in the faith of Jesus.
  14. The answer given is likely dependent on whether you are a Jehovah's Witness or not. (Say what?) The 144,000, 12,000 from each tribe, will witness like never before and the number called out of great tribulation will evidently be beyond counting.
  15. Therein is the catch, for "whose land is it"? As to violence, you bet war is violent, awfully violent to man, woman, and child, warrior and civilian. The idea that there can be surgical strikes and minimal collateral damage is folly sold to placate the feint of heart from wilting under the reality of just how violent real war is. Personally I think that violence, the severe degree of it is a great thing to have to face for it makes people wretch at the sight of it. It makes warriors suffer long term mental anguish for having been in the midst of it's reality. Nations and their rulers and subjects all need have their own blood invested in the issue of war. The idea that one can hire professional career soldiers and remain of clean hands is a very bad way of thinking, for that that leads to easy war, way too easy. The nations need to negotiate truces and for peaceful settlements; or else go all out, no quarter asked nor given and suffer horrendous loses all around. In the time of photographic recording of war the damage done to whole nations is not different from what is happening today. Some of the mages of dead piles of humanity and totally pulverized cities and barren-ed poisonous countrysides are far worse than what is happening this moment.
  16. Hi, I think I find the basic premises to be somewhat errant including the comparable I have quoted. For there are some 52 Native American tribes that have lost their "status as nations". Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy has been fighting for the establishment of their treaty rights by bringing lawsuits against the USA federal government for years; and if elected President he will make it a priority for the USA to honor those rights. As to Palestinians, there are no Palestinians. The land grant rights of the Jews were established by God, the only such land grant ever issued, and that grant was issued long longlong before 1948 or even 1920.
  17. They never ask of what they do not know to be the answer. God does the same thing does he not? Seems He asks many a rhetorical question. It's also kind of a Jewish mannerism to make a statement but to do so in question form.
  18. Anytime the discussion gets around to patriotism I recall the 169 families I dealt with in arranging the funerals of that many that were killed in combat at Vietnam; the first I encounterd was during 1964 the last was in 1972. Now there was a cause that was indeed suspect, with oh so many drafted into it. Yet those that fought were heroic in an effort whose justification may have been seriously faulty. One can be seriously appreciative of a citizen's sacrifices made including death itself, without being either naive, nor a government toady. Hard to deal with survival assistance officers and the families of the fallen in combat and remain naive.
  19. "Very naive, very patriotic, very uninformed." Hey thanks for the compliment.
  20. Matthew 6 seems to put the torch to that thought.
  21. Psalm 83: Psalm 83 New King James Version Prayer to Frustrate Conspiracy Against Israel A Song. A Psalm of Asaph. Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera, As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon, Who perished at En Dor, Who became as refuse on the earth. Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, Who said, “Let us take for ourselves The pastures of God for a possession.” O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like the chaff before the wind! As the fire burns the woods, And as the flame sets the mountains on fire, So pursue them with Your tempest, And frighten them with Your storm. Fill their faces with shame, That they may seek Your name, O Lord. Let them be [e]confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish, That they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth.
