I would NOT put it past Soros to do this. Pope Francis came to power at the same Soros was bankrolling/organizing gay marriage laws all over the world, and many of those nations were resisting though Vatican influence in their populations. Muslims have always had a fatwa against the Vatican. That's why they have the Swiss Guard. So that doesn't actually add up, imo. This makes a lot more sense and it was obvious that Benedict was pushed out under mysterious circumstances. .

Do you think if Bush had said we were going to fight Islam it would have been better? Everyone knows we're fighting an ideology but identifying it as "Islam" would push a billion people to the other side against us. This is probably the best compromise, though I agree it's hard to fight an enemy you won't identify. The most important thing we could do to defeat ISIS is help the people suffering from ISIS already, and show our allies that America is not only great again, but a dependable ally. We don't need a a lot of space to set up a few bases around them and just start closing in. Let them know we're not going to allow them to round up entire villages and behead them. We can bomb them into the 7th century when they stick their heads up out of the rathole they will be hiding in. We could support Israel's efforts against terrorism and benefit from their intelligence gathering.

I like a lot of the programming on NPR, if only for understanding the other side of a debate. Though most of the news is slanted hard left, the arts should be non-partisan. Problem is, they haven't been non-partisan for decades now. I don't have a problem with their programming as much as their economic model. If they can't compete in the arena of ideas, they shouldn't be propped up with tax dollars to make propaganda. In the real world, news and media survives on being competitive and accurate. No government agencies have that same standard, and therefore I believe that defunding NPR would be the end of it.

The wall will work just fine. Just ask the Israelis...or heck...even Mexico. They have a wall on their southern border to keep Guatemala and Honduras out. In a perfect world, your idea would work. But on planet earth, that would destabilize Europe and invite WWIII. Germany would take the mainland without firing a shot through economic strength, and the USSR would have a revival in eastern europe.

Why do you say that when Trump is actively going after terrorists (FINALLY!) and placing prudent steps of prevention in place? Everyone says they want to stop terrorism but then the Left complains if something is done. Trump needs to learn the lesson of Bush. The very same Democrats who voted for war and the Patriot Act and every prudent measure, were the same people decrying him for doing it when the cameras were on them. They will criticize and blame Trump/GOP no matter what the outcome, good or bad. He should just ignore them and do what is right. I think that is EXACTLY why he got elected and what his supporters expect.

This was unfortunate for 103 people who were detained for a few hours on the first day ONLY. This number out of well over 330,000 with visas who entered the country on the same day. Would you care to hear how much islamic terrorists have delayed my travel plans over the last 15 years since 911? Again, it's unfortunate for 103 people...but it's nothing that millions of Americans haven't suffered because of those islamic nations whose visas we are examining (FINALLY) a little closer.
