That's arrogant. Your taxes pay for the slaughter of people you'll never see. People you don't know. People you have no business in concerning their life. Your tax dollars pay for the law that can be invoked by state order to sterilize or abort a citizen under cause. That's the natural hygiene act that is in place in virtually every state. Your taxes pay for the junkie that shoots smack in their eyelids because they've blown every vein in their appendages and between their toes for satisfying the craving of the poppy. Because that person is diagnosed disabled due to their drug addiction. And if they happen to get pregnant and remain high for 9 months, you'll pay for all that comes after too. Including if she aborts. Meanwhile, your tax dollars pay foreign countries who's poor are starving to death and have in the time it took you to read this far! Those tax dollars go first to the corrupt government. While people deprived of health care more and more are so because abortion in disease filled malnutrition suffering communities is becoming less and less a healthy medical facility choice. Because in order for monies to enter into those countries from this government abortion must be illegal! Even the mention of the word abortion will stop the flow of funds. Meaning a woman who is skin and bones and pregnant and will die if she remains so shall die. Because in the most poor of nations your tax dollars pay for the murder through starvation of countless strangers. Pity that.

It is a notable phrase he uses in his sermons. And yet, it perks the listener to pay stricter attention. "LISTEN" Listen. Hearing that word gets our attention. Maybe Dr.Stanley knows people can be lulled by a sermon. So he says,listen, in order to garner peoples attention to a forthcoming synopsis of all he just said. That's the other thing I've noticed about his sermons. Right after he asks listeners to listen he retells everything he just spoke about in a very short phrase. That includes scripture to support it. I like him. He takes getting use to for that listen command but I find if I'm in the mood of patience and open to hearing something from God that day I will listen. And I won't be so pricked by certain repeat phrases that he incorporates into his sermon.

Bet if their wives , husbands, children, were dependent on the terms and conditions of a national health care program to replace Obamacare it would have been signed into law day one of Trump's entry into the office. Because some part of us needs that. Even when we scream opposition we still comply for the most part. At least not as many as do not. It's easy to believe. Living the word behind the belief and beyond that to the spirit calling that gave breath to the word, be it God's word or those words that give us a subjective filter through which we think we're viewing an objective reality. Don't count on that transmission anytime soon. It appears the Martians already know how bad it is here. Remember the lander years ago that was delivering live feed through NASA? The last time this would ever be allowed and because just as the lander was approaching through the atmosphere of Mars with the surface in view so as to make that landing a beam flashed from the Martian surface. It shot straight toward the camera and then everything went into black and white snow. The lander being shot out of orbit.. I watched that live event and saw the spark from the surface when it first flashed. Then if flashed larger and the beam approached fast toward the viewer. It was not surprising the excuses that came from all the official channels after that. But those that saw it will never forget. Years later when the Shoemaker Levy comet string was projected to impact Jupiter a live NASA feed was broadcast again. I tuned in. It was pathetic! What was the live feed we were allowed to see? All the researchers on the project and their emoting as they watched their monitors for the impact. I could give a red duck about how they react! I wanted to see the impact. However, because there was always obviously no way to predict what will transpire in a live broadcast space event, presumably because of that Mars lander event NASA seemed to not want to take a chance on the comet impact with Jupiter. What was going to happen? Impact string into the surface of the giant planet and then a bunch of angry UFO driving aliens fly out to respond? Television here is so controlled. Outlets don't even care about getting the truth out. Just as long as they're first. I've stopped telling friends about the latest broadcast I saw because too often, like once, it turns out the breaking news was false. Or the details weren't as reported. But that outlet just had to be first to stoke peoples emotions who are watching. No wonder in war one of the first things captured is the communications system. If you can control what people know you can control what people think about what they know and how they live from a place of knowing. Like all this garbage about enemy-obama. Please! Nonsense. Every preacher on earth would qualify for that label if it were true. The literal word of God does not exist for us today. The autographs are lost to us. Therefore "literal" does not ever apply. If one thought it should, then there would be 612 laws we'd still obey to this day as followers of the Jew's messiah. Jesus was a Jew not a Christian. He stated he did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill the law. He also said not one jot nor tittle would pass from the law until all is accomplished. Not all is accomplished being Jesus ministry included the teaching that he would return again. Not all prophecy is fulfilled either. Jesus knew all things happen in their time. Therefore, if there were such a thing as the literal word of God, there would have to be such a thing as the literal obedient servant of the word of God. Which would result in pain and carnage among the people of God because the Mitzvahs would literally apply. Today there are Christians that will tell you the ten commands no longer apply! I think if someone insists on calling Dr.Stanley a false teacher they should go there and do so. Because that is on topic. This thread topic is just the opposite. And I thought part of the terms of use here and the rules for posting concerned remaining on topic. The false teacher allegation against Dr.Stanley is not the topic of this thread. Are we as Christians incapable of keeping this thread positive? Are we incapable of respecting the original author of it and their opinion of high esteem concerning Dr.Stanley? Thinking otherwise, are we incapable of going to the proper forum and discussing our opposing opinion in that proper place?

It's that old adage all over again isn't it? Those that don't learn from their history are condemned to repeat it. There was a Hollywood blacklist during the McCarthy era. Actors didn't work if their names were on it because they were thought to side with the communists. It was like the witch hunts of old. Point, accuse, arrest, try, kill. Only in the case of the Hollywood black list the death came when the actor couldn't get work. And their name was smeared with the dread "C" word before it. After 9-11-2001 people were in a panic over the M word. One woman to her eternal shame made the news turning in three suspect terrorists she overheard in a diner laughing about the 9-11 assaults. The men she turned in were medical school students. She lied and profiled them because they appeared Arab to her. Long horribly sad story short, she reported suspicious behavior that only transpired in her warped imagination. And the three men lost their place in the medical college they were traveling to at the time they stopped at that diner. When that call came from homeland security encouraging reporting of suspect behavior, I remember when I was told about that call what I was thinking. Imagine the reach of such an anonymous reporting system. What a beautiful way for a warped person like that woman in the diner to destroy someone's life. "TERRORIST!" The scarlet T that when applied makes one guilty until they can prove they're innocent of the charge. Call authorities! Alert to the dread T word in your area. Ruin a life out of spite. Or just because while walking past their house one day you happened to look in the window and saw the lady of the house donning a Niqāb. When before this person walking by had never seen the lady of the house attired in such a way. A secret Muslim? Fear, imaginings of the worst scenario run through that neighbors head. And then they call that anonymous reporting line and turn her in. "See something say something" My friend that got the call said he felt sorry for the one customer he had that had a Che Guevera poster framed in his den. Because if a contractor came to work on the central air unit located outside the window of that den looked in they could decide to report that customer. After all, they're framing the image and likeness of a Cuban communist in their home. Which indicates respect for the man and his principles. Scary isn't it? You do realize no one is claiming Dr.Stanley is like unto Jesus? What is being discussed here is the positive of his ministry. And that is not detracted from because someone may disagree with what he says. As we are all not going to agree with everything every pastor has to say about the scriptures. Just as we don't agree with one another always in how we understand them.

I agree. No human is perfect. However, Dr.Charles Stanley is a man of God. And I think this thread was intended to represent a positive observation regarding his ministry . Being the Controversial topics forum is the fitting place for that which would think to state otherwise. It is unfortunate if a positive thread cannot have a long life in this community.

It's a travesty when American news is so smeared with bad reporting that we feel we can't trust any news reporting here.

Either or, when they're done they're the one's with the chauffeur that drives them home and they live better than we do when it is our taxes that provide that living.
