  1. Of the top ten or so translations on biblehub. The main words used is to fall away, to stumble etc. Not saying offend is a wrong translation but it does require a broader understanding of the word offend to fully grasp how its used in the verse. In that particular verse in the OP, offend would mean to disagree, other verses it can be to the point of insulted, feelings hurt, anger etc.
  2. In the 80's I thought the pager was impressive when it came out, until I had to hunt down a payphone to make a call.
  3. Even the ancient modernized civilization had indoor plumbing dating back to around 3500 BCE.
  4. On the first day of the new heaven and earth, death is a anomaly until its done. Isaiah 11 6The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat; the calf and young lion and fatling will be together, and a little child will lead them. 7The cow will graze with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8The infant will play by the cobra’s den, and the toddler will reach into the viper’s nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the sea is full of water. 10 On that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples. The nations will seek Him, and His place of rest will be glorious. 11 On that day the Lord will extend His hand a second time to recover the remnant of His people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 12 He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; He will collect the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth. 13 Then the jealousy of Ephraim will depart, and the adversaries of Judah will be cut off. Ephraim will no longer envy Judah, nor will Judah harass Ephraim. 14 They will swoop down on the slopes of the Philistines to the west; together they will plunder the sons of the east. They will lay their hands on Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be subject to them. 15 The LORD will devote to destructionh the gulf of the Sea of Egypt; with a scorching wind He will sweep His hand over the Euphrates. He will split it into seven streams for men to cross with dry sandals.
  5. It was the local church in Corinth, the audience mainly consisted of Jews and Gentiles. Christianity was new on the scene in those days.
  6. Most sciences is about discovering not necessarily an invention. Some hit the mark some don't, its sort of like interpretations. I agree salvation isn't based on different interpretations. There isn't enough books to cover every detail of creation. What's been written is limited in its scope. Neither the people of long ago or today can fully comprehend every aspect of creation. It's written in such away that even a child can somewhat comprehend along with the most intellectual people of the times.
  7. Can't be during the 1000 yr reign either, there's no receiving glorified bodies during that time. And then this happens Revelation 20 7When the thousand years are complete, Satan will be released from his prison, 8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to assemble them for battle. Their number is like the sand of the seashore.
  8. In the context of Isaiah not just one verse. That will happen when the new heaven and earth arrives. After the 1000 year reign not during the thousand years.
  9. Show me the verse not a opinion. And no human has ever lived a 1000 years. The closest any man has come is 969 years.
  10. I know the Bible says Christ will resign for a 1000 years. But where in the Bible does it say people will live for a 1000 years?
  11. Many will be offended of the Gospel. A great falling away. Only a couple of translations use the word offended.
  12. Certainly Priscilla and Aquila a married couple worked side by side. Acts 18 26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained the Way of God to him more accurately.
  13. In Corinth it wasn't that women were out of order. Paganism was very popular in Corinth. So much so that women were the leaders of the Aphrodite, Demeter and Kore (Persephone) cults in and around Corinth.
  14. The important commandment of the ten is the first and the greatest is to love. Matthew 22 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested Him with a question: 36“Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law?” 37Jesus declared, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” The Hebrew word "one" used in the bible is "echad". It means unity, not singularity. It is also used in Genesis 2:24 in referring to a husband and wife being one flesh. A husband and wife are not one as in a singular being. Rather, they are in unity with each other. There is a Hebrew word that means absolute singularity, "yachid", which is not used anywhere in the bible to describe God deity. John 10 30 I and the Father are one.
  15. Let's talk, post the verse that Jesus says God is one?
  16. In America, income and housing affordability is the leading cause of homeless. Globally its poverty.
  17. You don't have to be in Damascus to do the same. I believe the word was inspired by God and none of it is in error.
  18. To Love the Lord God is the greatest commandment.
  19. Are you planning on going to Damascus, Jerusalem and throughout the coast of Judaea then to the Gentiles to tell them they should repent?
  20. I'm not calling God an octopus but nature can reveal things. If an octopus can have nine brains and three hearts, I don't see why God can't have three brains and three hearts yet one Spirit.
  21. Thats a good point, no one is a shoe in. It takes faith and perseverance.
  22. I liked what you mentioned before about the opening two verses being a narrative If the earth became a wasteland. imo i can see that happening before God said let the earth bring forth vegetation. the land became dry appearing from the water. A desert wasteland with no vegetation, no life on a desolate dry land scape. gen 1 10God called the dry land “earth,” and the gathering of waters He called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. 11Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees, each bearing fruit with seed according to its kind.” And it was so.
  23. That something you need to do. It's not my problem you got taught wrong in thinking that all Darwin knew about was single cells.
  24. Who's we? nobody has agreed with you. You could of just ask what I meant but your stubborn and incorrigible.
  25. No it doesn't, when I said other days I was referring to days 2 through 6. You never asked what I meant by other days. You assumed something.
