tsk, tsk someone is getting upset. 1John 2:27 But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him. John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Jeremiah 31:34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbour and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. 1Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

Good grief, what twaddle.

It is referred to as defending the gospel once delivered to the saints. But people who live in glass houses ought not to throw stones. Posting critical posts is also done by you and many others. As for the Sabbath that is now achieved when we pray and walk in the Spirit as we now rest from our own works.

And how is praying in tongues emotional? Rather it is spiritual and done in the power of the Holy Spirit. I do not get emotional when praying in the Spirit, but I do get refreshed. Isa 28:11 For by people of strange lips and with a foreign tongue the LORD will speak to this people, 12 to whom he has said, “This is rest; give rest to the weary; and this is repose”; yet they would not hear.

No this is unscriptural 1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of *God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1Thess 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophecies. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Well said @Paul James for this is what we all have in our Pentecostal fellowship: testimonies. Testimonies to the power of God by His spirit transforming our lives, and to miracles and healings; laying hands on the sick and seeing miraculous healings. In Papua New Guinea where people are much more childlike and faithful (without doctors and hospitals) there are several documented testimonies to the dead being raised up when the saints have prayed in tongues for such. Praying in tongues is an integral part of walking in the Spirit because it permits a disciple to yield unto the Spirit and to come boldly before the throne of grace. Praying in tongues delivers many miracles and blessings. The mind and nature of God and spiritual beings is infinitely way above our mere mortal comprehension [have you created a universe from nothing?]. So why not the spiritual language of God and the angels be beyond our comprehension. 1Co 14:2 For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 1Co 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

1John 2:24 Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he made to us—eternal life. 26 I write these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you. 27 But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him. 1John 3:23 And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. 24 Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us. 1John 5:11 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

1Co 12:13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. Mathew 3:11 I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Acts 1:5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

I dont understand the trinity

Psalm 82 1 A Psalm of Asaph. God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: 2 “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah 3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. 4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” 5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. 6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; 7 nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.” 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit all the nations! Yes, well said. Even the Jews prior to the rise of Christianity (the second temple period) taught the doctrine of "two powers in heaven" - a visible God that interacted with humans here on Earth [the angel of Yahweh for instance] and an invisible God that remained in heaven and spoke to and through the other. Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulphur and fire from the LORD out of heaven. Genesis 19:24 God the Father who is with God - the Son, the Word, Redeemer, Saviour, Prince of Peace, bread of life, Yahweh, creator, ... ... the Holy Spirit is the operative power of God the Father that works and achieves outcomes here in the world John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Luke 24:49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high. -
When the voice gifts of the Holy spirit operate at a church meeting - on Sundays straight after communion - God (both the Father and Jesus) speak directly to the saints present. Up to three gifts of various tongues followed by up to three gifts of interpretation. Then followed by up to three gifts of prophecy. In these voice gifts God extols, even demands, that we pray daily and often in the power of the spiritual language He has given to us by His Spirit. God explains the work of the Holy Spirit and how our praying in the Spirit enables His Spirit to do its work within us (helping us to be victorious over the flesh and sins). God often cites the scriptures to us expounding their relevance to our walk and to our new life in His son, Jesus. More than once God has used the parable of the wise and the foolish virgins to remind us that those who quench the Spirit imperil their salvation. One specific revelation given through these revelations is that OSAS is not true. What is it then, brethren? When ye come together, each hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation. Let all things be unto edifying. 1Corinthians 14:26

Wrong. Being baptised in the Holy Ghost is being born of the Spirit. One baptism consisting of full immersion water dunking coupled with baptism in the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of praying in a new tongue = being born from above or new birth.
-
Oh how wrong you are. You do greatly err in your use of scripture. One cannot enter the Kingdom of God without the indwelling Holy Spirit (God making his abode within a true worshipper, thus such disciples become temples of God) One does not have the Holy Spirit without the God given evidence of speaking (or rather praying) in tongues - a spiritual prayer language of the Holy Spirit (and promised to believers by Jesus himself). To walk in the Spirit is to walk in accord with the gospel and to become a new creation in Christ Jesus by means of the power and work of the Holy Spirit within a disciple. All of the above has been confirmed many times when at worship meetings of the church we operate the voice gifts of the Spirit and God talks to His saints - tongues followed by interpretation and up to three gifts of prophecy.

This is foretelling the coming Spirit-filled church wherein disciples would be baptised in water and baptised in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of signs following; such as speaking in a new tongue. John 3:8 (DRB) The Spirit breatheth where he will and thou hearest his voice: but thou knowest not whence he cometh and whither he goeth. So is every one that is born of the Spirit. (LITV) The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice; but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone having been generated from the Spirit. (YLT) the Spirit where he willeth doth blow, and his voice thou dost hear, but thou hast not known whence he cometh, and whither he goeth; thus is every one who hath been born of the Spirit. A Spirit-filled Pentecostal Christian understands this verse after they have been born new again.

Au contraire but these scriptures in Galatians do precisely instruct us as to walking in the Spirit. All the epistles instruct us unto righteousness and living to serve God and the gospel. It is not complicated.

I have only ever known one Pentecostal church that Jesus himself brought me to. Previously I was Roman Catholic, but that did not stop me from falling into a very sinful and worldly life. But on that day I was baptised in the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues the power of God cleansed me and miraculously healed me instantly from many addictions and ailments: tobacco, marijuana, injecting amphetamines etc, alcohol and my kidneys. I truly knew that Jesus Christ is my God, my Lord and my saviour. I experienced the presence and truth of God within me. And I began praying in tongues in the Spirit. From then on my daily walk is this battle between the old person and this new person; but in the power and work of the Holy Spirit and in doing the word of God I choose to be an overcomer (and to remain loyal and steadfast). 1Corinthians 2:4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 2Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 2Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 2Timothy 1:7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 1Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit.

Daniel chapter 7: 9 “As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire. 13 “I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. 14 And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. 21 As I looked, this horn made war with the saints and prevailed over them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when the saints possessed the kingdom. Revelation chapter 1: 12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, 15 his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters. 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength. 17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, 18 and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades. Daniel chapter 10: 4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river (that is, the Tigris) 5 I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist. 6 His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude. Matthew chapter 17: 1 And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain [Mount Hermon] by themselves. 2 And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. 3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.

sorry, but I am on a roll with scriptures popping into my mind (from you know who) Colossians 1:8 and has made known to us your love in the Spirit. 9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;

1John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Titus 3:3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Saviour appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Ephesians 5:8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.

First a believer must be born again by water and Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps such a disciple to love the word of God and to yield unto the scriptures. The Holy Spirit also helps to convict a disciple of sin and wrongdoing, and when we allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit to overcome we become more practiced at walking in the Spirit. Thus walking in the Spirit is of righteousness (Romans 6) and exercising the power of the Spirit in our lives daily. This of course requires the Spirit-filled disciple to pray in tongues (praying in the Spirit) fervently permitting the Holy Spirit to directly commune with God (Jesus and our Father) Romans 8 The Spirit-filled disciple grows in the good things of God (Romans 12) and upholds their testimony for others to see (the epistles: children of light). Thus as we continue onwards being steadfast in love and good works we bear fruit to the Spirit in our conversation, our prudence, our discernment, our gentleness and humility, being like doves amongst wolves ... The question ought to be "What does Jesus consider walking in the Spirit to be?" And here is his answer for all of us: Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

Fake news! show me where miracles, healings and the power of God working through believers does not occur in the world today??

Has someone been reading Michael Heiser, et al? A book I am keen to purchase is: Ancient Near Eastern Thought and the Old Testament: Introducing the Conceptual World of the Hebrew Bible (2nd Edition) by John H Walton
