  1. Tell that to the 10's of thousands protestant denominations??
  2. I pray to God, I ask my freinds and family to pray for me, and I ask the saints in Heaven to pray for me. Then this type of follower doesnt follow the Bible. I am a member of His Church, I read the bible ( 73 books) and follow it as did the Early Church fathers. God bless
  3. I provided scriptural support from Romans 8 and 1 Timothy
  4. No, I contend that I can pray for your intentions and that Mary can also pray for your intentions. Dont tell me you dont pray for family and freinds. There is no difference between me asking you to pray for me and me asking Mary to pray for me (except the fact that her faith is infinately greater than yours)
  5. I agree. But this does not mean that I or Mary can intercede for other. Intercession is biblical! St Paul says so!
  6. No it is not Gospel of Mark He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You therefore do greatly err. Romans Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation? Or distress? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or danger? Or persecution? Or the sword? {8:36} (As it is written: For thy sake, we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.) {8:37} But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us. {8:38} For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor might, {8:39} Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord
  7. Start reading at the beginning if the chapter and get back with me.
  8. 1 Tim {2:1} I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all men: {2:2} For kings and for all that are in high station: that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all piety and chastity. {2:3} For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour You are intent on ignoring scripture....why?
  9. The 10 Commandment. I know many people think that keep Holy the Lord's day is going to their kids soccer game, but the Church says it is proper to Worship God. And intentionally ignoring His commandments is serious. It means no such thing. As St Paul say His sacrafice is once and for all. I would suggest you google how Jews look at the word remeberence. I will give you a head start..... https://blog.lawrenceahoffman.com/tag/do-this-in-remembrance-of-me/ The Church teaches at Mass we are present at His once and for all sacrafice. We offer our own intentions and unite them to His. We praise God for Him offering Himself for us. If I decide that God is worth enough that I decide to praise and worship Him every day, who are you to scoff at it? This sort of thinking has gained some traction in the past 100 years or so. But the early Church believed exactly what the Church believes today. Ok Wrong conclusion.
  10. You didnt ask. You've been too busy telling us what YOU think the Mass is. Edit: I see this is from a new poster...sorry
  11. No need to give us your resume, but it is clear you do not understand the Mass. With every post you just reaffirm it
  12. It is clear you do not understand the Mass.
  13. There is nothing in the scriptures you quoted that forbid intercession. If Christ healed the paralytic because of his freind's faith, He can also do miracles for my friend because of my faith. The great apostle Paul also intercedes for his Children. Intercession is biblical.
  14. The early Church took it as it was Peter, not his confession.
  15. Mary intercedes for us. I can intercede for others. God is the God of the living, not the dead.
  16. Jesus say that the bread IS His flesh, that's enough for me. And evidently it was enough for the early Church too.
