  1. I wouldn't say it's best to interpret the bible as literally as possible. I always try and figure out whether the scripture I'm reading is intended to be taken literally or figuratively and view it through the lenses I believe God intended. I would even consider the possibility that different portions should be viewed literally at different times in history to.
  2. My current thinking is that the Jews up until christ will go to heaven then the ones alive after Christ should follow his teachings to go to heaven.
  3. This is a new one on me so forgive the misunderstanding. So the focus of this replacement theory is about the Jews and kinda what happens to them after christ came? This sounds like a very big study lol.
  4. I've never heard of replacement theology but I just googled it and it seems more or less right to me. The new covenant replacing the old one. Isn't that what all Christian's believe?
  5. Have you seen that laughing therapy? Talk about laughter as medicine. Kinda freaks me out a bit when I saw it on YouTube though lol
  6. Yeah true that. It's a humour where everyone laughs.
  7. I have already learnt about the jewish festivals and how they relate to those events. I meant as an ongoing thing in more modern times. Like you have been with the 7 years and 50 year cycles we were talking about. I'm not sure we both see divination in the same light. I dont see anything supernatural about trying to predict events based on patterns. So your convictions will only allow you to recognise potential calendar correlations in the past? I love this forum. It amazes me how many different viewpoints and peoples varying perspectives on every aspect of our faith. Yeah the whole universe is expanding and cooling down so they say.
  8. Hey Tzephanyahu. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think you're right.
  9. I dont think God has that kind of sense of humor. Have you personally experienced success with that method?
  10. Then there's no point telling the joke if he's guaranteed to laugh. That defeats the point lol.
  11. I've come to the conclusion that God has a sense of humor and I think if I were good at telling jokes he would laugh along with me.
  12. You're presuming I'm good at telling jokes.
  13. A brief Google seems to indicate there seems to be a lot of times when laughter is encouraged and then there's that scripture that sais we shouldn't engage in coarse humor somewhere which would seem to encourage non coarse humor. I like to think there are moments of irony and circumstance that are God manifesting his humor sometimes. And yeah animals do appear humorous sometimes. Especially things like sloths that look like they are always smiling.
  14. Something I was thinking about today. Has God got a sense of humor? Has anyone else ever thought about this or studied it out in scripture?
  15. Ok so its not every 7 years or 50 but quite often on those years bad things happen. Have you had much success in predicting any catastrophes or events with this system? I think divination is ok if God is the supernatural power giving you the heads up on future events. That's why there's so many prophets in our bibles who predict the future. Have you seen any patterns with the Jewish feasts and events? I guess that thing with a lunar calendar it is follows the natural cycle of our seasons and stuff more accurately right?
  16. Ohhh I thought you were saying we should all be using a Jewish calendar lol. So you're saying youve been taking the jewish calendar and using it to see if there are patterns of events that through history match up with dates and events on the jewish calendar right? That's a cool study. And you say you've found that something really bad happens every 7 years and every 50 years right? Just making sure I understand what you're talking about because you posted so many different things I dont want to miss your point because you've obviously invested a lot of time and energy into this and it looks really interesting.
  17. I dont think God really cares what calendar we use, I've never really noticed any teachings or references saying we have to use a certain calendar anywhere. You might be right though and maybe we should all be using the jewish calendar. You seem to have stronger feelings and thoughts on the whole calendar thing. What has lead you to these thoughts if you dont mind me asking?
  18. What an interesting thought.ive never considered using the Jewish calendar instead of our gregorian one. What would the point be? Just for fun? I think the Jewish feasts are more important to understand, they run through the whole of Gods plan for humanity as far as I understand it. I think they're like scenes in a theatre play that runs twice, with Gods children as the actors, the first run as Spiritual children, the second run as Spiritual adults before we rejoin our true father at the everlasting after party.
