  1. "That way literally on doors, gates, houses, is when it is not written in the heart" Rather, if Torah is in your heart, then you OBEY IT (Dt.30:14), including any rules about doors/gates/houses. Blessings...
  2. Dt. 22:12 applies to garments with four corners. My garment doesn't have four corners, thus it doesn't apply. Dt. 22:11? Still trying to determine the meaning of "צֶמֶר" and "פֵּשֶׁת". I have no idea if my clothing is derived from a flax plant. So, if I'm unintentionally ignorant, then I'm forgiven, so relax. But thanks for your concern! "It is not hard at all for anyone to obey Deuteronomy 22:11." Great! I hope you obey it too! "Deuteronomy 6:9 showing that the passage indeed is literal and indeed about visibly seeing the law at all times." As I've previously stated, a mezuzah is a nice way to honor this command. "Today in Israel religious Jews take the command literally by wrapping a black band around their hands and up to a small box on their head containing a little Torah scroll." Sure, that's an interpretive option. I think figurative interpretation is also an option there too. "But the good news is, we need only follow Christ, the righteousness that He preached is the main requirement for entrance into heaven, and He shed His blood, died and rose again, and released His Spirit freely towards all mankind, anyone can take hold of His Spirit and thereby His way of life, by faith." And the good news is that Torah endures forever (1Pe.1:25 citing Is.40:8). And yes! Follow Christ who told us to obey Torah: Mt.4:4;5:19-20;7:21-23;13:41-42;22:37;23:2-3,23,34;Lk.10:25-28 And righteousness is of Torah! Dt.6:25;Is.51:7;2Ti.3:16;1Jn.2:29+3:7+5:3. And greatness in the Kingdom of Heaven presumes full Torah-obedience (Mt.5:19-20). And He shed His blood to inaugurate the New Covenant which is given as Torah for us to obey ("תּוֹרָה", Jer.31:33). The Holy Spirit is given to those who obey Torah (Ac.5:32). And faith is of Torah (Mt.23:23;Rom.10:17;Gal.3:11+Hab.2:4+Ps.119:30,86,138). And life is by every word the comes from God's mouth (Mt.4:4 citing Dt. 8:3) which, of course, includes Torah (Dt.5:31-33). So yes! Let's grow in faithful obedience to presently observable Torah portions! Blessings... Excuse? No! Just a fact you don't like, that's all.
  3. Rather, Mt. 5:19 upholds ALL Torah commands. That's MUCH more than "about 17 commands" ! Blessings...
  4. Hello Brother, thanks for asking. Yes, we WILL again obey 100% of all Torah. Jesus taught sacrifices (Mt.5:24). Jesus was angry when the religious system of His day prevented people from taking part in sacrifices (Mk.11:17 citing Is.56 which upholds sacrifices). Sacrifices WILL return (Dt. 30:1-8;Zec.14;Eze.40-47;Jer.33;Is.66;Mal.3). Paul condoned sacrifices (Ac.21) to prove he obeyed all Torah. TENS OF THOUSANDS of 1st-century believers upheld sacrifices (Ac.21). Of course, in our present diaspora, we are unable to take part in sacrifices. But the covenant with Levi is eternal (Nu.18:19). Torah continues for a thousand generations (Dt.7:9), which is a good 37,000 years into the future from now. We WILL again obey 100% of all Torah (Dt.30:1-8), AFTER we repent and AFTER we return to the land promised to us (Dt.30:1-8). The food laws can be obeyed presently. Peter even applies them directly to us (citing Lev. 11 at 1Pe.1:15-16). Jesus upholds even the smallest of Torah commands (Mt.5:19-20)....so, to the extent that we can grow in faithful obedience to presently observable Torah portions, I encourage us all to do so. Especially since our position in the forthcoming Kingdom is determined by how we integrate this issue into our lives (Mt.5:19-20). Sabbath laws are not all presently observable (e.g., Nu.28:9), so there are definite limitations on what we can do while in our present diaspora. Blessings...
  5. Dt. 6:8 may be construed as figurative. A mezuzah is a nice way to uphold Dt. 6:9. Dt. 22:11? I'm still not sure of the meanings of "צֶמֶר" and "פֵּשֶׁת". "Are all of the animals you eat drained of blood properly? " What is the proper draining technique you have in mind? "Do you wear ribbons of blue" Why? Torah doesn't require that. "You observe each and every Sabbath? Multiple weekly and monthly days of not working?" Haven't determined which calendar to go with....if you figure that one out, let me know. In the meantime, grow in faithful obedience to what you DO understand. "You observe each feast likewise not working during the Sabbath of the feast days?" Why assume all feasts are fully observable in all details in our present diaspora? This is quite obviously a bogus assumption. "We do disobey the Torah" Only when you SIN. After all, that's what sin is.....TORAH-DISOBEDIENCE: Rom.3:20;7:7;1Jn.3:4;Is.42:24;Ps.119:11 I sure hope you don't intentionally sin! "And through His indwelling Spirit we are granted the fruits we need to obey Christ." The fruit of the Spirit is TORAH-OBEDIENCE. LOVE entails TORAH-OBEDIENCE (1Jn.5:3;Dt.6:5,25). That's where John got the idea. Dt. 6 Which the Messiah applies to you in Mt.22:37. Ac. 15 merely references conditions for initial identification of saved Gentiles.....not the condition of a fully mature sanctified Torah-obedient Gentile convert. Paul applies God's commands to you (1Cor.7:19). That's TORAH! (1Ki.2:3)
  6. Yes.... And note that Mt. 22:37 cites Dt. 6 which upholds TORAH-OBEDIENCE (Dt. 6:25) as the proper expression of our love for God (Dt.6:4-5). Sure enough, John tells us the same thing: Love for God is expressed in obedience to God's commands (1Jn.5:3) which, of course, are contained in the written Torah of Moses. So let's obey Torah! That's what the Messiah and apostles taught us to do. And yes, some Torah portions are presently unobservable.....so let's grow in faithful obedience to presently observable Torah portions. And remember that we will, in the future, again obey 100% of ALL Torah (Dt. 30:1-8). After all, the Torah Covenant is eternal (Ps.105:8-10) and passes directly into the New Covenant (Jer.31:31-33) which is also eternal (Jer.32:40). Blessings...
  7. You wrote; "We can disobey the Torah" You are wrong. The consequences of Torah-disobedience are here: Mt. 5:19-20 Also here: Mt. 7:21-23 Also here: Mt. 13:41-42 The Torah IS the "rules from Christ", as I've shown. The good news is the GOSPEL. Peter tells us that the GOSPEL is that TORAH ENDURES FOREVER (1Pe.1:25 citing Is.40:8). Please repent and believe the Gospel. The Gospel upholds Torah-obedience, as Peter has told us. Blessings...
  8. Yes, if you want eternal life, then obey Torah (Lk.10:25-28). Blessings...
  9. Yes, we should abide in Christ's words (Jn.8:31) which teach us to obey Torah (Mt. 4:4;5:19-20;7:21-23;13:41-43;22:37;23:2-3,23,34;Lk.10:25-28). Blessings...
  10. Glad to see we evidently agree that we should obey Torah. Blessings...
  11. And the Spirit upholds the letter of the law. Not the letter without the Spirit. Not the Spirit without the letter. But BOTH, together. After all, Torah passes directly into the New Covenant: Jer.31:31-33 Blessings...
  12. "THE TORAH?" Yes! Jesus requires it: Mt. 5:19 So obey it! Blessings...
  13. 1. It is bad to walk after the flesh. 2. The flesh is of Torah-disobedience (Rom.8:7). 3. Thus, it's bad to disobey Torah. So obey! Blessings...
  14. Greetings.... Mt.7:24 is written immediately after Mt. 7:21-23 where the Messiah tells us that even RELIGIOUS people will be cast away from Him. WHY are they cast away? Because they do not obey Torah (Mt. 7:23 citing Ps.6:8 which casts away those who do iniquity....) So what is this "iniquity" of Ps. 6:8? It is TORAH-DISOBEDIENCE. Ok then! Let's obey Torah! That's what our Messiah taught us to do... We build our lives on the foundation of His word: Torah. Blessings...
  15. The Lord returns to establish His Kingdom (Da.7:13-14;Is.11:2-3;Ps.2:6-12;Jer.23:5-8) AFTER the "mixed" Kingdom of Da. 2:41-43. We still evidently await this "mixed" Kingdom. Ever since Rome, we've been waiting for this "mixed" Kingdom. So, it could easily be a LONG LONG time until the Lord returns. But "how many Christians" will be prepared? Answer: "A GREAT MULTITUDE WHICH NO ONE COULD COUNT" (Rev.7:9) These are the true Biblical Christians who understand and obey God's commands (Torah of Moses)...Rev. 12:17;14:12. There are the true Biblical Christians who understand they are children of the woman (Israel) who gave birth to the child (Messiah). Rev. 12. We, as Christians, are ISRAELITES who obey TORAH (Jer.31:31-33;Heb.8:8-10). Since most (likely 99+%) of us Christians, globally, have no clue about this, we are surely not even close to the return of the Lord at this point. We don't know who we are (Israel). We don't know how we should live (Torah). Jer.31:31-33;Heb.8:8-10 Blessings...
  16. Righteousness is something we DO (1Jn.2:29;3:7). What do we do? John goes on to tell us: God's commands (1Jn.5:3). Where are God's commands found? Torah! (1Ki.2:3). We DO righteousness in obedience to Torah. (also Mt. 5:19-20. also Is.51:7. also Dt. 6:5,25. also Ps. 119:3+1Ki.2:3. etc.) Blessings...
  17. Right! Love fulfills the Torah. Why? Because if you choose to love, then you choose to obey all the rest of Torah too. (sorry guys, no more pork!) Love FULFILLS (not replaces/terminates/cancels) Torah. That's why we obey God's commands (PLURAL, 1Jn.5:3;1Cor.7:19), not merely Lev. 19:18. After all, Jesus' teachings DO actually apply to us: Mt.5:19;23:23 Blessings...
  18. Thinking Maimonides counted wrong. For example, he excluded Dt. 4:15, right?
  19. Hi there! Jesus did not say His teachings only apply here or there, depending on audience. Generally, Jesus' commands apply to all disciples of all nations (Mt.28:19-20). And he commands us to abide in Him (Jn.15:4)....which means we obey His teachings...which include Torah (Mt.4:4;5:19-20;7:21-23;13:41-42;22:37;23:2-3,23,34;Lk.10:25-28) So Mt. 23:23 was spoken to Jewish religious people....but the default assumption (absent occasional evidence to the contrary in specific cases) should be that general teachings of Jesus apply to all disciples, given Mt. 28:19-20 + Jn.15:4. Also, yes, Jesus' teachings were taught BEFORE the cross. Shall we thus ignore them? Surely not. Again, Mt. 28:19-20 + Jn.15:4 carries Jesus' teachings through the cross into the future for all disciples of all nations. Jesus came to die for our sins, yes. But also much more! Jesus came to gather together the scattered people of Israel...including any Gentiles/foreigners willing to join the family! Thus Jesus cites Is. 56 in Mk. 11, confirming this critical purpose. And yes, Jesus came to make Torah EASY and LIGHT (Mt.11:30), because it IS easy, and not too difficult, Dt. 30:11. It was the corrupted religious leaders who invented TONS of man-made rules in ADDITION to Torah....and that made Jesus very angry (because, among other things, ADDITIONS to Torah are a violation of Dt. 4:2....and also because it made it very difficult for true seekers to learn a proper walk of faith in the Lord). Sure, the GREATEST commands are Dt. 6:4-5 and Lev. 19:18....but those are not the ONLY commands....they're just the greatest! Just upholds even the SMALLEST of commands (Mt.5:19-20;23:23). AND, Scripture never said the greatest commands REPLACE the others.... Sure, Dt. 6:4-5 and Lev.19:18 FULFILL the rest of Torah......but why? Because if you obey Dt.6:4-5 and Lev.19:18 properly, then you will CHOOSE to obey all the rest as well in all detail....that's WHY Dt.6:4-5 and Lev.19:18 FULFILL (not replace!) the rest of Torah. FULFILL does not mean replace or abolish. After all, Jesus explicitly said NOT ABOLISH (Mt.5:17).....thus it's still in force! A husband can daily fulfill his duties as husband of his wife. But the next day, they are still married! FULFILLED does not mean CANCELLED or TERMINATED or NO LONGER IN FORCE. FULFILLED means to "make full"....you make something full by DOING it...not by pretending it no longer applies. Jesus' reply (Lk.10:25-28) was an answer to the question about eternal life...and Jesus confirms that Torah-obedience leads to eternal life. Why? Because if you obey Torah properly, you'll walk in faith in response to God's eternally saving grace, trusting Him to make complete provision for your sins, ultimately expressed via the Prophet of Dt. 18 (Jesus!) who came to remove those sins through the sacrifice of Himself on the cross, and who came to teach us how to continue to properly obey Torah with faith, mercy, and justice (Mt.23:23). Blessings!
  20. Not really sure what you've got in mind.... Can you tell me?
  21. I'm still stuck on "cyclical"... What exactly does "cyclical" have to do with "the prophet yeshayahu/Isaiah" ?
  22. "cyclical proposition" ??? Meaning what?
  23. I would say Col. 2:23 opposes man-made religion....not intentional worship of God. After all, we SHOULD worship God (Rev.22:9), even in accordance with Torah (Ex. 34:14). You wrote: "in heart and from the heart, not the letter." My response: Wrong! "in the heart" means YOU OBSERVE IT (Dt. 30:14). You just contradicted the Hebraic conception of "in the heart". Not good. You wrote: "how we should keep the Law, the way of the Spirit, " My response: Remember? The Spirit testifies Torah is written upon our hearts (Heb.10:15-16) which means we OBEY it (Dt. 30:14). The Spirit leads people to OBEY Torah ordinances and statutes (Eze. 36:27). The Spirit opposes the Torah-disobedient flesh (Rom.8:7), thus the Spirit upholds Torah-obedience. Jesus' words are Spirit (Jn.6:63) and include Torah (Mt.5:19-20). Let's affirm this Torah-upholding Spirit. You wrote: "keeping the letter of the Law is in itself a failure to keep the Law. " My response: Nonsense. Why would God be mad if people obeyed Him? Don't be silly! God is routinely angry at Israel due to DISOBEDIENCE. You got it backwards! Please get back to the Bible. When God tells us to obey, he means OBEY! (Dt. 30:10-11)...he doesn't mean: "ignore My commands because, hey, it's just an allegory...." You wrote: "Nobody under the Law could keep the Law of God" My response: Wrong again. Moses is NOT a liar. It is NOT TOO DIFFICULT (Dt. 30:11). Paul also walked orderly according to the law (Ac.21:23-26). Paul said we can and should imitate him (1Cor.11:1;Php.4:9). So we can obey Torah too. Paul even said that uncircumcised people can obey Torah (Rom.2:26). It's not too difficult. Paul told us to keep God's commands (1Cor.7:19)....Paul didn't say "Don't bother....it's totally impossible....so just forget about it!" John told us to keep God's commands (1Jn.5:3)....John didn't say "Don't bother...it's totally impossible....so just forget about it!" You wrote: "Nobody under the Law could keep the Law of God, because they did not have the new nature of Christ within to be able to keep it." My response: Wrong again. Josiah obeyed all Torah from the heart (2Ki.22:35). Hezekiah obeyed Torah too (2Ch.31:21). Let's not make things up..... You wrote: "Jesus did not give us a new checklist to keep...." My response: True....it's really just the same checklist we already had (Lk.10:25-28;Mt.5:19-20). That is, all Torah! You wrote: "That it needs to come naturally from the new nature/spirit within the believer, our conscience and behaviour being informed and unctioned by Christ's Spirit within. " My response: Right! That's how we obey Torah! And you're right! We who do the law will be justified (Rom.2:13). Glad you cited that one! Blessings...
  24. But if you agree Levites will be restored in the future, then they ARE sons of Aaron, right? Or am I missing something?
