  1. Wow! Praise God! I totally believe this story. I believe it also because it is consistent with a wide body of knowledge from thousands maybe millions of NDEs from around the world. Many people report that they were given a choice of whether to return to this world to help and guide others. It sounds like her miraculous recovery was more than that. She appears to have really died and was allowed to come back. That's an amazing testimony. This is exactly what I'm talking about. People come back from these experiences changed people with a greater sense of love for their fellow man and for God. These people are never the same as they realize our lives here are like shadows of the true lives we have in heaven with God. Thank you for sharing this.
  2. You make some good points. However, one thing that all NDEs confirm and which even the Bible confirms is that there is no time on the other side. Time is only an aspect of our world. God knows the future and the past because there is no time there in eternity. He sees it all. So, maybe people really are seeing the souls of their loved ones.
  3. Well, it's tricky because some passages can be taken out of context. Some aspects are relative. To a person still alive, the dead do know nothing, because that soul has already transitioned and is no longer concerned about the things of life on this planet.
  4. I just want to clarify that these aren't induced by drugs, meditation, or anything one might consider "demonic." These people report such things simply by dying even if their heart just stopped temporarily. So, they're not purposeful.
  5. A substantial number of NDEs report leaving their bodies and meeting Jesus. Some see God, angels, or relatives who passed.
  6. Just clarify. These can't be confirmed in terms of being true. I mean that the NDEs appear to affirm it. Again, I don't personally believe that.
  7. You can check out IAANDs. This is a site sponsored by UVA. Countless NDEs have been examined and verified. Another site is run by Dr. Jeffrey Long, a Christian. It's NDERF.org I believe.
  8. I've studied NDEs fairly extensively and can say that you are making very valid points. There are NDEs from faithful Christians that have made them more strong in the faith and NDEs that turned atheists away from non-belief. Some NDEs appear to vary based on belief systems. For example, most Christians will see Jesus, God, or angels in some way. Hindus might see Krishna or who they perceive as Krishna. An atheist may just meet angels, light beings, or a being of great power who they can only describe as God. So, there is some variation in NDEs, so does this make them invalid? I don't think so. Here's why. Though there is variation, there is a substantial number of consistencies. For example, people all say they experience a being of overwhelming love, leave their bodies, meet relatives who have passed, have a sudden awareness of higher level knowledge that is gone when they return to their bodies. All of this confirms that there is more to this life than we see with our eyes. I also think the variation of NDEs is due to the designers of them creating an environment that is comforting as souls transition. It doesn't mean everything is all true, and it doesn't mean everything is all false.
  9. What about veridical NDEs? In other words, where a person's soul or consciousness leaves the body and later when the person is revived details entire conversations, events, and even thoughts that occur doors down the hall or even across the vast distances? These things occurred while people were on an operating table with no brain activity.
  10. True. Now, I want to be clear. I don't personally believe in reincarnation. Can't imagine coming back to this jacked up world. However, I can't deny that so many NDEs mention what they interpret as reincarnation. I personally think it is being confused with the reality that we are all connected to God, so one can see other people's lives, and it can feel as if it is them personally.
  11. Whoah! Didn't mean to strike a nerve. I also wasn't suggesting you were lying. I was genuinely curious where you live. I don't mean to say where you live in the internet of course. I understand there are different environments of inner city life. God bless!
  12. The truth is that the true nature of God is not the one boxed in by religion. Religion is just that religion not to say it's not important, but religion expands over time and adds doctrines that are not divine. I love Jesus, but he has given us all common sense. All religion are people's attempts to find God. Some may have false teachings including Christianity. However, most have aspects of universal truth like don't lie, treat others with respect etc. So, bottom line, I believe based on common sense, God looks on the heart.
  13. Well, there are several things to look at. There is a woman who claims to see angels everyday and has done so since a child. Her name is Lorna Byrne. She has written some books. There is another documentary that can provide balance and it's a documentary called beware of angels.
  14. This is my personal opinion. However, let's maybe just be honest and realize that the Bible doesn't give us every answer. There are several flood narratives from the ancient world that are very similar to the Noah's ark story. To me this is just that there really was some type of great flood event at some point in early history. However, I think that the details may be a bit fuzzy and also I think that. What if a flood event in Earth's history left an indelible impression on mankind. It may have been global to early humans because that was all that was known at that time. I don't know. Only God knows. I don't think we should get too caught up on the literal aspect of the flood story and focus on the message.
  15. It certainly is a mystery. I agree reincarnation is not logical. However, I do think it's possible there may be validity to the concept of the oversoul. In other words, the oversoul could spawn multiple souls that can live as individual people on earth. So it can appear as if it's reincarnation but it's really not. Only God knows.
  16. @missmuffet you're right. No one should use NDEs as a solid rule because there is a lot of individuality in them. I think this by design to comfort those. However, one common thread in NDEs are life reviews and even the concept of reincarnation which I found in particular disturbing if true. Only God knows.
  17. @Dennis1209 It certainly is still a mystery, but now with countless people of all backgrounds reporting similar experiences from NDEs, even the secular world is taking notice. NDEs have turned atheist and agnostics to Christians or at least people who believe in some sort of higher power.
  18. There are definitely mysteries that we will not know here and in fact may not even be meant to know. However, the study of near death experiences has some unique perspectives that may or not be valid. Below are some examples of those. (1 on death, consciousness or the soul leaves the body. People report seeing areas above them and even hearing conversations in other areas which were later confirmed. (2 people report heavenly beings like angels, God, Jesus, deceased family members. (3 people inform that when they ascend to heaven that knowledge is instant. It feels as if they reconnected to their true self as a spiritual being. All questions are known and answered at least in some cases. On returning to their bodies, their knowledge is contracted and universal knowledge is no longer available to them.
  19. Hi thank you. Yes, I've actually been blessed to have read the Bible three times from front to back. I just have the view that though it was inspired it is not directly written by God. There are parts that are simply not literally but figurative and symbolic. The parts that are literal and historic are clearly delineated and attested to via archeology and etc.
