I don't think "private use of tongues - Speaking in tongues to yourself and to God" is even a real thing no? Does scripture ever indicate that ever happens? And what would be the point?

Is cross posting okay?
BlessedCreator replied to BlessedCreator's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Ok great, thank you guys! -
I am a member of multiple online Christian forums. I am wondering if it is okay to cross post sermons/devotionals/texts that inspire discussion/videos that edify etc.? All that I have made personally of course.

I'm not speaking against Enoch the prophet nor the book of Jude, I am speaking against the legitimacy of the book of Enoch actually being from the prophet Himself.
-
We don't know that the book of Enoch was written by Enoch just because Enoch himself was quoted in it. If I wrote the "Epistle of Enoch" and made up a bunch of stuff and then quoted Enoch the prophet a couple times, would you say the entire epistle was written by Enoch?

"The angels that sinned.—Better, the angels for their sin: it gives the reason why they were not spared, and points to some definite sin. What sin is meant? Not that which preceded the history of the human race, commonly called the fall of the angels—of that there is no record in the Old Testament; and, moreover, it affords no close analogy to the conduct of the false teachers. St. Jude is somewhat more explicit (Jude 1:6); he says it was for not keeping their own dignity—for deserting their proper home; and the reference, both there and here, is either to a common interpretation of Genesis 6:2 (that by “the sons of God” are meant “angels”), or, more probably, to distinct and frequent statements in the Book of Enoch, that certain angels sinned by having intercourse with women—e.g., Enoch vii. 1, 2; cv. 13 (Lawrence’s translation). Not improbably these false teachers made use of this book, and possibly of these passages, in their corrupt teaching. Hence St. Peter uses it as an argumentum ad hominem against them, and St. Jude, recognising the allusion, adopts it and makes it more plain; or both writers, knowing the Book of Enoch well, and calculating on their readers knowing it also, used it to illustrate their arguments and exhortations, just as St. Paul uses the Jewish belief of the rock following the Israelites. (See Note on 1Corinthians 10:4.)" -Ellicott commentary on 2 Peter 2:4 If it actually was quoted, it was likely used not in support of it but to the contrary?

One verse in Jude quotes Enoch the prophet. Just because the book of Enoch may have quoted Enoch the prophet as well, likely to make the book seem more legitimate, does not actually make it inspired. You have to look at the work as a whole and when you do that you see that there are things contrary to what we already know are the inspired words of God.

If this message is actually saying this isn't the end of the world/end times it is completely false. It most certainly is.

I'm scared I unsaved myself

We are saved by faith. Not by saying a prayer. You must repent from your sins, meaning to acknowledge your wicked ways, have a change of mind and turn from them completely, accepting and doing the will of God. But remember God warns us that you can have a dead faith instead of a saving faith. James 2:17 KJB "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." And a couple of my favorite passages that may help you: Hebrews 5:9 KJB "And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" Revelation 22:14 KJB "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." This faith requires much more than mere profession. -
Please remember to do your own diligent research on doctrines/prophecies that God has given us. Make sure everything lines up with what God has revealed to you. I may be wrong and do not want anyone to believe something as not %100 true, so please do your further research of your own and let God teach you.

The Mark of the Beast (what it really is explained)
BlessedCreator replied to BlessedCreator's topic in Prophecy
I still do not believe the mark of the beast is a physical mark that is visible on ones body but exactly what it is I do not know for sure. Please do your own research and let God teach you. -
The Antichrist (the coming false messiah)
BlessedCreator replied to BlessedCreator's topic in Prophecy
After further research I have concluded that I need to do even further research on the man of sin/son of perdition spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 as I am not entirely sure whether he truly is a single man or really just a succession of men or a mass movement (group). We all need to thoroughly research the word of God, the Holy Bible, and let God lead us. -
The Antichrist (the coming false messiah)
BlessedCreator replied to BlessedCreator's topic in Prophecy
The Antichrist will be a man, as the name man of sin indicates. Satan will enter him as he did Judas Iscariot. -

Why do you think the antichrist will be a Jew? Also do you believe modern day Jews are really Jews? -
"Look what I learned (new treasure)"
BlessedCreator replied to BlessedCreator's topic in Biblical Topics
I just looked it up in my Strongs Exhaustive Concordance and it says Greek 544 means "to disbelieve (wilfully and perversely):-not believe, disobedient, obey not, unbelieving" I think you are right in that it is speaking not of the broader sense of obeying God but strictly concerning believing. Which is the first commandment God commands those that come to Him for salvation. Well that or to repent. Thanks for the correction! Though my interpretation was wrong that still doesn't mean we can live in sin wilfully, disobeying God. If we do we will perish. -

I trust that God has left His word to us English speakers. I know we must obey Jesus whether that verse says it or not. -

Sin is anything contrary to God's will. If you think you can willfully live in sin after coming to the knowledge of the truth and think you'll still be saved the following verses are for you: Hebrews 10:26-29 KJB "26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?" This verse Hebrews 10:26 is talking about the regenerated Christian who has apostasized from the faith (walking in obedience unto God). Apostasy defined by the Marriam Webster Dictionary: "1: an act of refusing to continue to follow, obey, or recognize a religious faith 2: abandonment of a previous loyalty :" That is not to say that willful sin is okay, because it is not at all. Do not tempt the Lord. -

When I first came to the truth of the Bible and realized that we need to obey God's will to be saved, one of the things that I was unsure of, until I searched the scriptures, was whether or not I needed to keep the Sabbath day or not. As I knew it was something God commanded the Israelites to keep. But was it something Christians needed to? Scripture makes it clear that Christians do not have to keep the Sabbath. Colossians 2:16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:" From Ellicott's commentary on Colossians 2:16 "It is obvious that St. Paul gives no hint of any succession of the Lord's Day to be, in any strict sense, a "Christian Sabbath." We know, indeed, that the Jewish Sabbath itself lingered in the Church, as having a kind of sacredness, kept sometimes as a fast, sometimes as a festival. But its observance was not of obligation. No man was to "judge" others in respect of it." In the book of Acts in chapter 21 verse 25, Paul is speaking on things regarding the customs of the Jews, and what, if any, should the gentiles keep. "As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication." If the Sabbath was something to be kept under the new covenant, I believe it would have been mentioned here. Mark 2:23-28 "And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath." Those that are in Christ under grace through faith are not under the Law neither the commandments of Moses. Though I will say, besides the Sabbath commandment, the other 9 commandments are taught (some indirectly) in the New Testament. Romans 6:14 "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."

The kingdom of Heaven/of God has two different meanings. 1) the inward - Spiritual nature of man 2) the outward - kingdom that will be established at Christ's return

Does not scripture tell us that few will be saved and that they that do the will of God abide forever? And are there not a multitude of warnings and lessons teaching that we must obey God living Holy and righteously in this present time? And does Jesus not tell us Himself that He will tell those that commit iniquity to depart from Him? And does Gos not tell us that unprofitable servants, lukewarm and hypocrites will be cast into outer darkness?

@BeauJangles you say "We can choose to Please Him or not." Do you mean we can choose to keep His commandments or not keep them? That is the same thing as saying we can go to heaven or hell no?
