  1. Luke 23:43 (NKJV) And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
  2. Sometimes I wonder why more is better when it comes to tattoos. For some that is. I know there are some who get one or a few and then there are some who want to cover an entire arm, or leg or back or whole body. Those are the people I wonder what they are trying to say to the world or to themselves. God covered me in freckles so one tattoo was enough for me and now that I am old my freckles have held up, but the tattoo looks like an old flower smudge. LOL! There are many people who see a whole body filled with tattoos and do not feel it is tasteful no matter what the design. Same with piercings. With human beings, judgement is sometimes made on outward appearances. What is that scripture about not causing your bother to stumble?
  3. Yes, I recently reread that. Hagar was an Egyptian therefore an Arabian. The Bible doesn't state what race Keturah is of but the names of her sons does tell a story and some are Arabian names while others are associates with the Midianites who were Arabian. When you look up the word "Midian" the description is "brawling, contention, strife, discord" and then you remember what God said about Ishmael, son of Hagar, and his descendants. For me the Islamic religion is all about God's judgement of those with Ishmael's blood and all are of Arabian lineage. They still have a choice just like us Gentiles (heathens and pagans) but they choose to remain in that Muslim trap.
  4. "supposed to" those are the key words. Joseph Smith was supposed to have had special glasses to read the hieroglyphics of the Moroni tribe but there is not one single iota of physical evidence this is truth. Powerful, evil men say whatever they want and if you go against them, they kill you.
  5. I love the book of Jeremiah. There is no way I would ever give up the wisdom and promises of the Old Testament. Both the Old and New Covenants are valid and relevant as they always have been for those who choose to accept Jesus as Messiah. Immanual - God with us. Isaiah 7:14 (NLT) - All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
  6. Thank you for those scriptures Anne. We all know he will continue dividing the sheep from the goats and the wheat from the tares and he will do it in whatever way he has too. Whenever someone tries to tell me Jesus was all about peace, I remind them of the names he called his pious, rich, religious, killers and what he did when the temple was filled with thieves and money changers. When he does come back that final time, he won't be a whimpy, quiet, peaceful, king and every knee will bow whether they want to or not.
  7. Venezuela is having a terrible time. The politics are worse than America. The people are in dire straits and have been for several years when their economy completely collapsed. I believe many of the people who left the country would have migrated legally but they either were not allowed to or could not for some reason. Venezuela used to be a rich country and the people were happy and content for the most part but when a liberal, socialistic mentality became the leadership everything fell apart. America seems to be on the same path unless the citizens understand the writing on the wall and unite for the good of all not the good of the most powerful and richest. Sorry.....I will dismount from my soap box. :) Venezuela crisis in brief (bbc.com)
  8. The question was asked of Slibhin who originally said that the people commenting were "a million miles away from the God of the Torah." She is on a Christian forum but does not believe in Jesus Christ. But then there was that time Jesus told the disciples to sell their robe and buy a sword. Luke 22:36. Ecclesiastes 3:8 says, "there is a time to love and a time to hate; a time for war and a time for peace."
  9. I love that you brought this up. I just finished reading the story again and seeking wisdom on it. Rabekah coerced Jacob to lie to Issac and trick him in order to steal the blessing. He honored his mother's wishes. We all know what God thinks about liars and deceivers since He has had to deal with the biggest one of all, Lucifer, since almost the beginning of time. I believe any blessing built on lies, treachery and deceit loses its full effect. God blessed Issac's family because of his covenant with Abraham but it could have been so different. Human beings have been messing things up since the decision to bite the apple happened. From the beginning the real truth is that it is all a spiritual journey for each one of us on an individual basis between us and the Father. Jesus said each one/soul/person MUST be born of the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God. "Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh. Whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit." ~ John 3:6
  10. So true. I believe they are actually of the Arabian race. At least those who are not of Hebrew origins. But actually, we all came from the loins of Noah and his sons who settled the area after the flood. It's weird how so many people screaming and yelling to save Palestine have very, very little knowledge that there is no Palestinian people or race.
  11. Are you a million miles away from what Jesus taught in the New Testament?
  12. I believe most of us feel this way and have given back to our home countries as best we can. We are Jesus Followers and know that he taught to "love one another." But when we are realistic, we know that not every individual on the earth feels the way we do. From the youngest of age, the children in Gaza were taught hatred of their neighbor, the Jew. A two-year-old being taught to hate and kill and destroy someone is one of the lowest, most inhuman things one person can do to another person and is a brain washing technique. Then as that child grows, they are taught further hatred and how to do the killing and are rewarded and encouraged to do even more to show their hatred in outward ways. Wrap that up in a nice little family package, "If you do not hate them then you are not one of us! Get out or we will kill you!" When a person gets all of their love, all of their encouragement, all of their food, all of their medicine, all of their weapons, all of their needs from those who hate, they are caught in the same trap of death and destruction. Islam is the only religion that outwardly expresses "Death to the Jew" and "Death of America." And then they do it in the most horrific ways.
  13. Is this the trial you were referring too? FBI — Holy Land Foundation Convictions With about 1 million of these young able bodied terrorists now illegally living in the US I am a bit leery of what their intentions are. If this (below) is what they want to do to all of the Israelites what will stop them from doing this to everyone else who does not believe in their god? "During the trial, the government presented evidence that Holy Land Foundation and the five defendants provided approximately $12.4 million in support to Hamas and its goal of creating an Islamic Palestinian state by eliminating the State of Israel through violent jihad."
  14. Big Bear Lake is actually a reservoir located it The San Bernadino Mountains in southern California. The elevation is roughly 7000 feet so the climate is unlike the warm coast of California. I'm glad the snow finally ceased (for now) and gave our eagle friends a break. I'm really hoping for chicks to hatch and survive.
  15. It seems like now adays I am saying all the time, "If you call yourself Christian and are not talking about Jesus, God, Holy Spirit, scripture, and all things pertaining to salvation, what is your purpose?" We all see the condition of the people and the world deteriorating in leaps and bounds yet Christians talk about everything but Christ? Shouldn't all of our words be of Him, about Him, and pertain to a life of salvation and love of I AM? Maybe it's because I am older, wiser and on the downhill slope headed home. Fruitless, barren, dead trees are not going to make the grade. Mark 11:20-21 (NIV) - In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!” Matthew 7:13 (NIV) - “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
  16. Which is why Jesus said we must be born again. We have to become spiritually reconnected with our Creator who is a triune God. Father. Son. Holy Spirit. And we are made in that image. Three in one. 'Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. ” Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ - John 3:3,5-7
  17. I often wonder why those who are committed to Jesus and love him with all their heart would not want others to experience the same. I know in the past I was mainly a seed planter (woman who like to talk alot) but as the years and decades have passed I now see some of the fruit from those seeds and it blesses my heart so much to know I have been fruitful. Some are way more fruitful but I don't thing there is any measuring going on. We all know what happened to the fig tree that Jesus tried to get fruit from which was barren of fruit.
  18. My adopted son (my birth son married his sister who was best friends with my daughter and both boys have been best friends since 7th grade so he calls me Mom) and his wife both have tattoo sleeves on one arm. We have neveer really sat down and talked about why they felt the need for an arm full of tattoos but in the grand scheme of things their salvation an belief in Jesus is all that matters. Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. The tattoos will not follow them to heaven.
  19. She just laid the second egg yesterday. Last year there was only one egg and it did not hatch. It was a bad winter for them so we are all hoping for 2 babies this year!!
  20. The word saints in verse 25 is a Chaldean word and does mean holy one but not "The Holy One" because it says they are the "saints of the most High", which is a reference to Father God. Same with verse 27 when Daniel says the kingdom and dominion will be given to the people of the saints. The saints and the people are two different groups. To me this says the people are the congregation, the tribe, the nation, the flock. The saints are those who are defined holy by God. Regardless of who is fleeing when and where it will be a terrible time for all life on earth.
  21. Thank you! Abiding in the Vine is where we should each live our lives daily. Without His touch and word each day we would not make it through the dark valleys of life. The greatest honor of my life was the day I was grafted into the Vine! Oh, glorious day!
  22. This is the religious people not the spiritually alive person and like Nicodemus many of the preachers standing in many of the pulpits today who are not teaching the Bible to their congregations. You are right Jayne, and they still will not budge 2000 years later. Hearts are hard and ears still do not hear the Spirit of God.
  23. It's always interesting to have a conversation with someone about God and the Bible. Many people believe that when you read the Bible you are religious and that makes you a good person therefore you will go to heaven when you die. Many people do not understand the way of Holy Spirit once Jesus has been accepted into the mind and heart of the believer. He tried to explain it to Nicodemus in John 3:3-8 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” Jesus tells Nicodemus, one of the religious leaders of the time, that without a spiritual life a human will not see the Kingdom of God. Practicing religion is not the way to the kingdom. I like the write up about Religion and Spirituality in GotQuestions. What is the difference between religion and spirituality? | GotQuestions.org Someone, like Nicodemus, can have all the religious training and knowledge in the world and still be spiritually bankrupt and lost.
