  1. Mat 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken (G3880), and the other left. G3880 From G3844 and G2983; to receive near, that is, associate with oneself (in any familiar or intimate act or relation); by analogy to assume an office; figuratively to learn: - receive, take (unto, with). The ones taken were not destroyed.
  2. Scripture states the ark lifted up above the earth and that is exactly what it did. Destruction all around but not in the ark as it was floating on water above the earth. This is a type, Noah did not have to leave the atmosphere.
  3. Gen 7:17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. To interpret the verse to mean Noah "sailed through the destruction" is to deny the text. The destruction was to those on the face of the earth and Noah was lifted in the ark above the earth. Gen 7:4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
  4. It doesn't matter that the ones destroyed in the flood are referred to as taken the point is they were destroyed. What matters is that Noah and Family were lifted up above the destruction and again returned to the earth as a type for pre trib rapture for those that believe.
  5. You are arguing against scripture....I offer it yet again... Heb_9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. Heb_9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. You can not impart to others before the death of Christ something that had no strength or effectiveness. It had no effect until His death therefore it was not effectual for them before His death. Rom_16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, Eph_3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Eph_3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Col_1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Do not fear for them before His death because Christ descended to the lower parts of the earth were they were held in bondage until the mystery of Christ was revealed to set the captives free by His gospel. Eph 4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? Eph 4:10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
  6. Old testament remission was temporal remission and required obedience on the part of the sinner and God passed over their sins. The obedience required a physical act therefore it was a work of the flesh as seen in sacrifice, baptism, circumcision, etc. The truth in Christ is that we can now access eternal remission without a work of the flesh but spiritually by the faith and works of Christ in who all at this time not before his death have eternal remission of sins. Mat_26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Heb_9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. Heb_9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. When we read the words remission and saved they have different meanings in the context of whether they are before the cross ( work of the flesh required) or in Christ Jesus by faith (no work required). Salvation has always been by the grace of God but now in Christ it is attained without the need of works of the flesh therefore it is a free gift and it must be received freely or it is void and is of no effect. The Jews rejected Christ and slew Him because in their hearts they believed salvation was of the Jews through their obedience to sacrifice and other rituals of purification under the law. This type of self righteousness was ingrained in them and they could not turn away from it because God had in the past by His grace granted them a temporal salvation through their works. They took the shadow of things to come and perverted it in to self righteousness in the sense that it was their forbidden fruit but God still saved (temporal) them from the penalty of sin which is death as he did Adam in the garden. Through sacrifice they were to have the knowledge of their evil (sin) but they perceived it as their good (self righteousness).
  7. Therefore remission of sins was not possible before the death of Christ. Their sins were covered. Temporal because sacrifice was required year to year yet saved from the penalty of sin because God covered their sins in obedience (work) to sacrifice.
  8. Not possible if this scripture is true..... Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, Rom 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
  9. If it had no strength at all until the death of Christ how then was remission of sins received (saved)? Answer the question and give me your interpretation of the scriptures . How were they saved before the death of Christ?
  10. What does this scripture mean to you? Mat_26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Heb_9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. Heb_9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. If it had no strength at all until the death of Christ how then was remission of sins received (saved).
  11. No, Noah was saved by grace, through faith. Having been chosen by God beforehand, he built an ark in obedience to the God Who saved him. Salvation is not and has never been saved-by-works-for-grace-to-have-faith. Neither has it ever been faith-in-works-for-grace. Nor has it ever been works-demonstrating-faith-to-receive-grace. We are saved by grace through faith and it is NOT of ourselves. Having been saved by grace through faith were are created in Christ for good works that God had already planned for us to perform before He saved us. Noah was saved by works through his obedience to God, his work in building the ark came first then he was saved in the ark from the flood. If Noah had not built the ark and disobeyed God there would have been punishment not salvation. It is a sin to disobey God! When I refer to Noah being saved by works of obedience I am speaking of a temporal salvation not an eternal salvation found in Christ. God commanded, Noah obeyed in work, God saved. Obedience (work) came before salvation. Now through Christ we know that we can do no good work before salvation (eternal) because any good work is Christ in us.
  12. God commanded Noah to build the ark and you telling me Noah could have disobeyed and he and his family would have survived the flood? I think there would be punishment for disobedience. Lev 26:21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins. Lev 26:22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate. Lev 26:23 And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me; Lev 26:24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
  13. So true and the death of Christ made it possible. God saved before the cross through obedience to the law as in requiring sacrifices to cover their sins and water baptism for remission they were not justified.
  14. God has always been long suffering and in doing so He made a way to save His people through obedience to the law (old testament) until the knowledge of truth in Christ and His finished work on the cross. We now have a new testament for remission of sins that was not effectual until the death of Christ. Do you think Noah would have been saved if he had not built the ark?
  15. Works saved many in the bible as in sacrifices, obeying the law, baptisms, circumcisions, building an ark, etc. If they had not obeyed they would not have been saved. Works were required until the death of Christ and the new testament in His shed blood for remission of sins. Look at the old testament accounts of works of the law, if they had not obeyed they would not have been saved. God was working with Noah but if Noah had not built the ark he would not have been saved from the flood. Christ Jesus had to give his life so we could have eternal life by grace through the faith of Christ and no longer of works and it was not effectual until after His death. Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. Heb 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
  16. The last days (tribulation and post rapture) will be a works salvation and they that are left behind will have to endure to the end to be saved. If one has to endure it requires something on their part to be saved which is not saved by grace. Noah was saved from the flood by works (building the ark with his hands) therefore in the tribulation as the days of Noah it will be again a works salvation.
  17. I was considering "but" as in... 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. My main point was those that were taken were not destroyed but saved in the ark.
  18. No.
  19. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Noah knew not the day or the hour of destruction by the flood until the rains came and the waters rose and took them (Noah and his family) all away. The destruction was coming and Noah and his family were taken away from the destruction, it should be obvious the ones outside the ark were not taken away. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
  20. I agree with your understanding and it is all Christ in us that brings us to enlightenment and slaves of righteousness. Is it your understanding it is not by what we believe (our faith), our will, our obedience, or our works, etc...therefore their is nothing a unregenerate can do but it is by His calling and Him regenerating us and making us slaves to righteousness?
  21. I do appreciate your responsiveness. For you to help me and other viewers comprehend your understanding of the process to becoming a slave to righteousness (regenerate).
  22. I pray to the Father in Jesus' name. I feel I am honoring God as my father and Jesus my redeemer understanding both are the same. I don't pray to the holy spirit which is the power of the Father because all glory is given to the Father and the holy spirit doesn't speak of himself but does the will of the Father.
  23. "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:" Our understanding must be enlightened to know His calling, how do you see the process of enlightenment to bring us to slaves of righteousness?
  24. If obedience is not required for regeneration, briefly what is required?
  25. Are you saying that obedience is required before being a slave to righteousness (regenerated)?
