  1. Thank you for the reply. Well sometimes she seems to have a smirk on her face when she tells me i'm getting the strap, like as if she is very excited about it. I don't know. But my reaction when she tells me i'm getting the strap is usually to say that i will go and get ready which means i will go and lie face down on my bed, pants lowered and then she will get the belt and come in. I never argue or try to stop it, i always respect her decision on punishment. I have never felt that is was abuse, it is punishment not abuse and yes you're right it is in scripture. I think i deserve punishment when i don't behave, i can't disagree on that.
  2. I always have this image in my head of billions of unbeliever's kneeling before God with their heads bowed, grimacing and weeping as they hear their punishment and realising they got it so badly wrong. They will have all of eternity to regret their mistake. The saddest thing is it will hurt God more than it will hurt them, he doesn't want to send them to eternal punishment but they leave him no choice. Its heart-breaking but my sympathy has to be with God not them.
  3. It's a very grave sin. The only way a homosexual can be saved is to turn away from it and stop practicing homosexuality. Repent and ask for God's forgiveness and never do it again. A homosexual who carries on and does not turn away from it and does not repent will be automatically sentenced to eternal punishment on that. God has the permanent cure for this problem. Revelation 21:8 ESV But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” Jude 1:7 ESV Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. Leviticus 20:13 ESV If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. Exodus 22:19 ESV “Whoever lies with an animal shall be put to death. (ok i know this one is not exactly about homosexuals but since homosexuals are animals i thought i'd add it anyway)
  4. I'm 15 and my mom keeps a leather belt in her bedroom ready to give me corporal punishment when she thinks its necessary. She will also ground me and give me chores as alternative punishments. My question is is it right for my mom to spank me as a punishment? She does it very hard also. I know that a child must obey its parents and disobedience to the parent should be punished and so when i disobey or behave badly i deserve to get punished . But i personally don't feel like getting the belt is a useful punishment, i mean it hurts so in that way it does what its meant to do, punish. But i don't think it really teaches me anything. At least when i'm grounded i have time to think and consider how to do better, so being grounded seems like its more helpful. And when i have chores i am doing something useful and getting exercise. But the belt is just pain with no real purpose other than the pain itself and because i think she enjoys doing it. I always get the feeling she is quite excited when she brings the belt out to beat me.
  5. Oh i've done that as well. I didn't mention it as i assumed no one would say they do it. It's only me and two other people who do it at my church and the other two are much older than i am. I also prostrate at home in my bedroom
  6. I absolutely always kneel during church. From the moment i enter the church to the moment i leave those knees don't get up off the kneeler cushions. I notice that not everyone kneels, i know some can't for medical reasons and others choose not to, we can all worship however we like and that's fine by me. I know people will probably say the position the body is in for worship doesn't matter, its how you worship in your heart that counts which i also agree with and i worship from my heart too. But personally i can't worship, praise or pray to the LORD unless i'm kneeling, it just feels right to me and the correct way to humble myself. I just wondered who else kneels in church?
  7. Yes the Lord gives us free will but that doesn't mean we should use it unwisely. The punishment for doing so is rather serious so people really need to think carefully about how they use it. But God deserves endless praise for giving us this gift of free will and allowing us to choose.
  8. I think that will be what we will be doing. In this world we can't always worship God as much as we should too many distractions and life gets in the way. But when we are there we will be able to give the LORD our full attention and worship and praise without distractions
  9. I think people overcomplicate it and its really fairly simple. God created humans so that we would worship him and that's what we will be doing for eternity in Heaven while kneeling before him. Anyone who doesn't believe and doesn't want to worship serves no purpose in Heaven, they are no use to God so they are not permitted entry. God doesn't want people who don't want to worship him and they don't want to be there anyway. He gives us a choice and doesn't force anyone to be with him if they don't want to be, everyone is free to serve him or reject him. Unfortunately he can't allow rejection to go unpunished and the punishment for it is eternal separation from the LORD which the person suffering the punishment will eventually come to realise the severity of and what they missed out on and there is no forgiveness and no second chance. Imagine being lost for eternity knowing there will never be salvation, ever? That's the punishment. As harsh as the punishment may seem i think people in hell eventually come to understand that the punishment is what they deserve, they rejected God first and so he rejects them in return. God's judgement will be fair...hard but fair. In the bible God is frequently seen handing out severe punishments (setting a bear on 42 boys to maul them to death is one i always remember, probably because i am a boy myself and that one really scared me). While the punishments may seem brutal every single one of them is fair and deserved. People therefore are aware that while God is a good. loving and merciful God he is also a God who will punish severely those who deserve it and the punishment won't be a slap on the wrist. Everyone who gets punished will come to understand why they are being punished. That's why they will be weeping and gnashing their teeth. Not because they are burning in flames but because they are weeping in sorrow, remorse and regret. Judgement day will be a day of horror for many and they will be kneeling before the LORD grovelling but it will be too late. Those of us who are saved will be lying face down on the ground in humble worship. praising our loving and forgiving LORD, who we will worship for eternity for saving us.
