We're commanded to be humble, but it's hard for many of us

Thats a good rule! -
Oh i love Dr. Berg's content. Its very informative and simple.

According the prayer that Jesus taught us.... i can say this for 100% that Heaven is the place where God's kingdom is/ will be and Heaven is where God's will is done.

Amen. There are many example of it in the bible, but now this reminded me of David's situation when he sinned and murdered and married bathsheba ("bath"sheba lol what a fitting name)from her to Solomon and from Solomon to Jesus. Also Joseph situation where his brother sold him to slavery, he said (Genesis 50:20 ) "As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive. God truly works in mysterious ways sometimes. haha Hallelujah!

Psalm 8:1-2 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.

I think they were referencing this when they mentioned Angel language, -Corinthians 13:1, "If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.".

What is a way that you spend time with God each day?
Gracejj replied to Lotw8's topic in General Discussion
After reading all the replies, I can say that for most or many of us has developed this every day natural habit of being in a constant communion and communication with God, apart from the other "set apart" time that we may have. It's feels good to know that I am not alone or crazy for doing so haha. -
Brother in Christ, Don't let your heart be troubled, trust in God. Bible says, God has not given you the Spirit of fear .. "..for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 1 Timothy 7:1" spirit of fear is from the enemy to paralyze you, enslave you, bind you in the confusion and uncertainty of the future. To keep you from progressing in the purpose of God for your life. The enemy can't take away the purpose that God jas for your life but he can use spirit of fear to keep you from progressing. Trust in God!! Psalm 53:3 "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." God wants us to put our trust in Him in the moment of fear. When we put our trust in God, spirit of fear has no ground to stand on and you will overcome the fear by putting your trust in God. So put your trust in Jesus.🙏 Shalom!!

I think what FreeGrace meant is "cross" as a reference to coming of the Messiah aka Lord Jesus.

I know you asked clouds but I would like to add to his explanation that praying in tongues and speaking in toungues are two different thing, in one you speak a different language that you may not know but there will be people who know, speak and understand that language and able to interpret it because its their own language or mother toungue (which happened in the upper room), and the other one is some utterance that you utter during worshipping or prayer time where you and others doesn't have any understanding of what your are speaking bcos you utter mysteries by Spirit(1 Corinth 14:1-2). If that make sense.
-
Thank you for replying! So reading above passsge its my understanding that some of the benefits are- To edify themselves, bcos you're not speaking to people but God, and no one understands them bcos its a mystery by the Spirit. Its for yourself during your own quite prayer times. Shalom!

Dealing with Non-Religious Parents
Gracejj replied to a topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Well, I am late for this topic but I see there are many good suggestions already. I would just add few (i mean long paragraph sorry!!) words and experience which is kind of same as non believeing family background, how I deal with the situation. I think your mom is lovely, I remember growing up around your age my mom was opposite, she would ask me to not wear clothes that can attract guy's attention, not hangout with boys, boy friend word itself would have caused me "you're grounded"!! , they were strict being Asian, she would say there's time for everything, this is the time for focusing on your education and after that you can think about careers and settling down, so Boyfriend word was not even an option that time. My point is, it is okay if you want to have a good standard for yourself and not entertain the idea of wearing clothes to attract guys lol. You're not gonna miss out, especially when God has a wonderful plan for your future. If you seek His kingdom and His righteousness First, God is able to take care of other stuff in your life. Actually you are indeed in an important phase of your life which is you finding the Truth aka Jesus, and getting educated in the word of God not only intellectually but Spiritually too is going to be the best part of this important phase of your life. Growing in relationship with Jesus. As for family, what helps me is simply praying for them, letting God work in their heart, letting God lead me and be ready for any opportunity God opens up for me to testify the Love and truth and Grace of God to them, through the way I live and carry myself. Being a new creation in Christ, bcos the old is gone and behold God is doing a new thing in my life and they will witness it, and there will be time when they can't deny the power of God in your life, the light of God that will shine through you in their life, as you will love on them by being firm on the truth but also extending the grace and mercy God has for them, they will see the light. One of the best way to tell our family about Jesus is by living the life that Jesus would want us to live as His follower. That's what have helped me with my family too, yes I use to try to preach them too but they weren't ready and were with hardened heart, but later i learned to preach Jesus to them by just living like Jesus would want me to live. They see it and know for sure its not my own but its Christ in me. Though they may hesitate to accept. Sometimes i do see their hearts gets soften. But it took a long way to reach there. Hope it helps, Shalom!! -
That was a good explanation. Thank you.
-
Thank you for the recommendations. 🙏
-
I agree. That was good explanation. The moment I heard that sentence it didn't feel right so i asked here, but i also know that somtimes as humans we can do simple mistakes and get carried away while giving sermons and say things that just could be our own personal understanding or opinion. It's always good to get council and advice of other believers. Thank you.
-
Thank you for sharing that story, its empowering. I am learning about the authority that we have in Christ. So that was very good example for me to learn from. Thank you.

Can a believer be possessed? I recently heard this message, I want to ask your thoughts on this.. "We were taught as a Christian that a believer can't be demon possessed if he has Holy Spirit within them, you are no longer owned by devil, you were bought with a price. However, Ownership and possession is two different things, eg- people own their house but sometimes squatters squats and it comes under squatters's possessions. Just bcos you have Christ in your life but that doesn't mean you become impermeable to the demons schemes and tactics, the way you live your life will determine whether you have violated God's law and coming with the new agreement with devil even though God said you are free from it. " So what do you think? Can a believer be demon possessed? 🤔

Proverbs 11:31- If the righteous receives their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner! Proverbs 12:1- Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.

Poll: What is the best definition of God's Grace?
Gracejj replied to Vine Abider's topic in General Discussion
Undeserved Mercies, forgiveness and Love. -
We often hear that God has forgiven our sins, past, present and future sins. Does " future" sins could be one of those habitual sins that we don't want to but end up doing? 🤔 If yes then I think God knows all the things and even the sins we will be committing even after being saved due to whatever reasons. Not saying that we should not work things out in our life to make sure we try to live according to How God would want us to. God knows our "heart" and knows if we are taking advantage(i couldn't find the better word) of His grace. Anyways, One thing I know for sure that When it comes to being saved or not, seems like we aren't saved because of how sinless we were or are. But because of Jesus Christ paying the price of our sins by laying down His own life for us.
