Why the trade embargo? If the withholding of goods was to punish them for not switching to capitalism, why has the US looked to China as a preferred trading partner? Is this policy not hypocritical? Me thinks the embargo came about as a result of Mafia pressure to payback Cuba for grabbing their casinos and brothels. We know the US supports the Mafia and questionable cartels. Maybe the mafia or Cheny cartel will be allowed to sel toilet paper to Cuba...

There is a percentage of people in your own country who are hard left and right who would not accept anything the other side does. It would not be right for anyone to think that the majority of Americans are hard one way or the other. Most are more middle of the road and don't give opinion one way or the other. If people have problems with government intervention now, will they argue on the side of the world when Jesus brings in His rule with a rod of iron? Just curious...

Absolutely, I agree with everyones viewpoint for the need for a balanced budget and reduced government involvement in citizens lives. What I do have an issue with, and it may be just me, is the mean spirited way, and I may be wrong that the President is personally attacked. If my perception is wrong then I apologise.

Republicans have more than their fair share of pork in there. The first package was under bush and there was a lot of Republican pork in there yet he allowed it to go through. Hypocritical don't you think?

Lets look at what would happen if he did cut back on all bail outs. First, more banks would shut down,the remainders would tighten up even more on their lending. Even huge Corporations are having a hard time borrowing for their day to day needs. Most of you would lose your jobs or have to cut back your businesses and staff because there is no money to spend. Forget sending your kids to College because you won't have your children volunteering some time to pay for their tuition. He would be doing the right thing but still be in trouble with Republican gods people. Can't win nohow...

I've come to the conclusion that in the minds of many here, Obama cannot and will not do anything right until he is either removed from office or assassinated. Am I right bible believing, blood washed loving Christians? If the unmentionable happens the world will forever remember the loving posts on CXhristian forums by bible believing Christians. Sad...

It took me a little while to figure out where this thread was coming from. It appears that the group that is being referenced believes that one must be born again, is not really born again until they speak in tongues and are baptised in Jesus name only. They are exclusive and believe that the rest of us are in error. They are Modulists and are in error.

I like the way you think, nagwalk. Do you literally go to your Congressional building and talk to them? I'm not sure we could do that in the U.S. We're way too big. Each member has to go back to their riding when they are between sittings to meet and greet their constituents. Thats when I go. Besides, they have an awsome data base available to all members, like a giant google machine that looks for answers to any and all questions from members, even questions like where can I getthe best priced Birch flooring? etc

The way it works in Canada, the rep represents all constituents. I am conservative, or rep is democrat so I go right in and get to know them and make very clear my opposition to their policies and their need to support my point of view as well as their friends. If through the media they do not even acknowledge my point of view, I go back in and ask why in a respectful manner. I drive them nuts.

The 'morality' or lack thereof has always been there. This initiative is merely extending benefits to gay civil unions, yet not recognizing gay marriages. I don't know how long Obama can hold out on this distinction. I would suggest that committed Christians use the same cyber tools that his election team used and flood all members of the House and Senate with opposition to any gay initiatives every time something like this comes up. Just complaining to the chior is not good enough. Planned opposition is what is needed here.

I agree, lots of prayer needs to go up for him. We have seen him already move more to the center where the majority of Americans are and with prayer we can see himm move more. Everything is possible with God. I think that coming to positions based on past statements limits God, thats why we pray.
