  1. Just for discussion. I am not a LDS and I go to church on a Sunday. I do not judge the LDS because they keep the Sabbath (Saturday) and they do it as described in the OT; no working, cooking etc. The question I ask is "is my salvation questioned because I do not keep the Sabbath as described in the OT?" I work on Saturdays and I feel in my heart that God blessed me with this job. I pay my 10% tithes and He blesses me even more. Paul did say that 'One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. (Rom 14:5). He also said 'Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ'.(Col 2:16-17). I would just like to know others' point of view because truly feel that I have a place on the Book of Life even though I do not keep the Sabbath on a Saturday.
  2. Thanks. I guess what got me guessing what the fact that he came up out of the ground.
  3. 8 So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman. "Consult a spirit for me," he said, "and bring up for me the one I name." 9 But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?" 10 Saul swore to her by the LORD, "As surely as the LORD lives, you will not be punished for this." 11 Then the woman asked, "Whom shall I bring up for you?" "Bring up Samuel," he said. 12 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, "Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!" 13 The king said to her, "Don't be afraid. What do you see?" The woman said, "I see a spirit [a] coming up out of the ground." 14 "What does he look like?" he asked. "An old man wearing a robe is coming up," she said. Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground. 15 Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" "I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do." 16 Samuel said, "Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and become your enemy? 17 The LORD has done what he predicted through me. The LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hands and given it to one of your neighbors
  4. Yep. Amen!!! Uh - huh! Exactly, God couldn't have made it much clearer could He? Six literal 24 hour days. It's sometimes difficult for us humans to imagine or fathom that this could be true. But what is impossible for me is possible for my God.
  5. Well I think that Electric Angel, couldn't be further away from the money if he tried. When God executes the punishment, He refers to in His word, the whole world will know about it. not only America. Don't take any notice of what these wannabe modern prophets have to say, read your bible and hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. America is not the only country that is becoming anti christian. It is not the only country that codones abortion and homosexuality. Have you ever been outside your own country. Do you ever watch or read any newspapers or tele news that isn't from Fox or some other anti christian agenda. I don't cosider 9/11 or Katrina, God's judgement only a headsup for people to pull their heads out of sand. The things that are going on in the world were are are inevitable. The bible says so. And the bible warns us things are going to get much worse. Eric, you are right in saying Americans should look outside their borders. I'm a South African and just last year gay marriages were legalised here. Just the other day there was a debate on whether or not to allow gay issues to be a part of our school curriculum. My first born is only 2. How are things going to be when he starts primary school?
  6. At the previous ministry I was in, they believed and prayed like "I bind this and I loose that". I think Jesus could have meant that He has given His Apostles the right to bind and loose certain principles in every day life. e.g. override the OT laws so that people were not bound by traditions and rituals. Take Paul's notes on marriage and divorce in 1 Cor 7. Some of it was words he spoke; advise he gave. I think that the Jesus meant that what the Apostles thought right would be bound in heaven. I hope I'm wording this right. Take the story of Gabriel and satan as they fought over the body of Moses. Not even Gabriel said a bad word against satan. All he said was 'The Lord rebuke you'. God gave us dominion over earth, not the spiritual realm. Also, there is not one incident where that the Apostles or Jesus is quoted using this binding and loosing term. Whenever they prayed that put everything and God's feet and had faith that He would help or sort the situation out. I stand to be corrected. I am still learning and am eager to learn.
  7. Float I'm sorry but you may have misinterpreted me. You are right in saying that tongues are a blessing. I just had a bad experience and I would love one day to receive the true gift of tongues. But as I stated, we all have our personal journeys with God and in His time He will heal me, which He has done in so many ways already. Your friend in Christ.
  8. Just a few months ago I left the church I was at; a charismatic church. Finally when I separated myself from that church and looked from the outside in I realised that I had actually been part of a cult (I would really like to speak about it sometime to someone as I am still picking up the pieces in my life). That's another story all together. The experience I had there with tongues was: They believed in that church that every one should have and be able to speak in tongues. So what they would do is have other people stand around you and they would pray in their tongues. You were instructed to imitate the one word that you could hear the most clearly; the one word that stood out the most to you. You were told to hold on to this word and pray it always until maybe God gave you another word or language. Of course while I was there I did not do much questioning and Paul instructed. The NT mentions tongue speaking/tongue speaking occasions only but a few times. I do not believe that if you cannot speak in a tongue that you are less Christian or spiritual. Every one has their own personal journey with God. I that God every day that He has forgiven me for the things I did there and no, I do not use the 'tongue' I leaned there. God speed

    Suicide

We all fall short of the glory of God. It's wonderful to be saved. That is a gift God has given us that we should not abuse. You need to act on that salvation. As far as I'm concerned suicide is a sin. How can you ask forgiveness for that sin if you're dead?
  10. Peter's vision in Acts 10:9-23 comes to mind here. I know that the vision was telling him to take the Gospel to the Gentiles. But verse 15 says "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean". I know also for a fact that it is condemned for us to eat food offered to idols and other gods. Personally, God made the pig and whatever He made is good and perfect. I think this is something you need to discuss with God. He's the only one that's going to be able to convict your heart. God Speed.
  11. From experience. You can't grow without falling. When you fall you tackle that obstacle and become stronger. You can't not learn from making mistakes and falling. If a trial comes your way that you've come across before you will know how to handle it. You would have overcome. It keeps us on our toes.
  12. Everything that exists today is made by God. I agree with Ronald. satan corupted music and some now days believe certain sounds or instruments are satanic or ungodly. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Whether you use drums, electric guitars or a false voice. It all sounds good to the Lord.
  13. Hi RNay I don't think your move was wrong. I think the first thing I would think of in this situation is my kids, which you did. That's no environment for any child. And it's not like you want a divorce. God knows your heart. You asl why it's so hard to make the right decisions. You love him and you don't want a divorce. Deep inside you know what's write from wrong and if you feel God helped you make a choice then you know it must be the right one. You can't fight for someone elses salvation. The best you can do is pray for him. You and you family will be in out prayers. God Bless
  14. Hi GLV Once you start having a relationship with God and once you allow the Holy Spirit to be you guide and comforter God will let you know His will for you in your life. The Holy Spirit in you will start 'moulding' you. He will tell you "this is wrong" or "pray for this". God has a plan for everyone of us. We just have to let him in and listen.

  16. I wasn't sure which forum to post these questions in. I hope I can get some answers. It is written that in the beginning there was Adam and Eve. Once they were cast out of the garden of Eden they had Cain and Able. Cain killed Able and Cain was sent away. Cain went out into the world and found a wife and stared his own family. My question is this. Were did these other people come from? Another question I've always had is where do the dinosaurs fit in? For this one I figured that they exsisted during one or two of the days God created the earth. As we know already one day to us could have been millions of years to God. I know where my faith lies and I don't want it to seem like I am questioning God. I would just like to better understand and be able to answer the same questions when I am asked.
  17. Doule and Annette Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. It's really comforting to know that I'm not alone and that others have fought the fight. Funny you should mention baptism Annette, tomorrow is mine and it would mean a lot to me if he was there. But I know God has a time for everything and for now it's my time and his will come when God says so. I know that not being married is wrong. Since being saved the Holy Spirit has laid it on my heart, that doesn't mean my fianc
  18. Allison Thank you for the advise. The New Testament is full of wonderful parables and I have read the one you spoke of. I guess at the end of the day it all comes down to faith. And I do believe that what I ask for will be give to me. Thanks again
  19. Leonard You are correct. I am not married. I have been with him for going on nine years and we have a nine month old son. I treat our relatoinship as a marriage. I also believe that our son is a gift from God. I know in my heart what is right or wrong it's just that I cannot change the views of my unsaved Fianc
  20. God promised that if one in the house is saved then the rest will follow. We have to spread the word and give testimony so that people will know that we serve a living God and that only good comes from Him. How will the rest of your family get to know God if you don't tell them about Him?
  21. I have just been saved. All glory to God. How do I deal with my partner who is not saved. Eg. When the past comes up and he wants me to answer to it and I know in my heart it is forgotten by God. What do I do when I come face to face with pride, guilt, insecurities and lust. Binding and spiritual warfare. Yes. My problem is that my light will shine bright the one day and then dim the other.
