  1. Not including some of the ones already listed... Joseph (Ben Kingsley, Paul Mercurio, Martin Landau) - the scene at the end where Joseph is reconciled to his brothers is utterly astounding... gives you a great view of how we fall at the feet of Christ and He takes us (His brothers) back even after what we've done to Him Luther (Joseph Fiennes) - recent movie about Martin Luther and the protestant reformation in the 16th century Peter and Paul (Anthony Hopkins does a wonderful job as Paul)
  2. very nice poem should be included in the Psalms heheh. Keep up the good work Jacqueline using the gift God gave u.
  3. definitely awesome
  4. What are some of the best things we can do to make God really happy?
  5. Wow! There have been some great posts on this one. I actually copied and pasted it into a text file to have for later. Before coming into this post it seemed like it would be so repetative, but it was totally refreshing. I really like how Willow said that love is more about a covenant than feelings, and the ideas by other posters that love is a self sacrificing commitment. It's soo great to hear the truth. God is love, we love God, I love you guys
  6. I've been really blessed to be able to hear Robert Thompson (www.wor.org) and read all his writings, and also read the old puritan writings of Richard Baxter. Both of them are very practical and challenging.
  7. Also remember faith is a gift from God (1 Cor. 12:8, Ephesians 2:8), and we should pray diligently for it. James said we have not because we ask not (James 4:2). 1 Corinthians 12:8 For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit: 9 to another faith, in the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, in the one Spirit; Ephesians 2:8 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
  8. lol good ones! I especially like He who dies with the most toys still dies
  9. Hey everyone! Just wondering if any of you have any good bumper sticker sayings that you like and would like to share with us all. Here are some of my Favorites: Your kind words today may be cherished by someone forever. Never deprive someone of hope, it might be all they have. What's the difference between getting an abortion and smasthing the egg of a bald eagle? You go to jail for the second one. If you're far from God in life, you'll be far from God in death. If you teach school children they came from animals, don't be surprised when they act like it. You have to wonder about humans, they think God is dead and Elvis is alive.... In case of nuclear attack.. the ban on prayer in school is lifted. Don't wait for the hearse to take you to church. Are you as excited to spend time with God as your dog is to spend time with you? Warning... in case of rapture, this car will be unmanned. Darwin knows better now. What are you going to say on judgement day? Even demons believe Jesus is the Savior, the difference is what you do with Him. There are no non-believers in Hell. Five minutes after you die you'll know how you should have lived. If you were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? Wisdom has 2 parts: having a lot to say, and not saying it. Always be preaching the gospel, use words if necessary. Always smile
  10. Congratulations! It's great to have you as a fellow disciple of Christ.
  11. Doesn't it make sense that after the flood happened, the 8 people that were in it would need shelter and firewood? They probably tore it down and used the wood for other stuff seeing as how the resources were probably scarce since the world had been covered by water for a long time. Thinking realistically here, I don't think they'll find it. The ark of the covenant... that would be a different matter. Anyone who touches it would die right? Unless someone purposely hid it very well, or God took it up into Heaven or something, that still has to be around somewhere, maybe God hid it until the new Earth can be made, or maybe in the end times people will find it and God will work great miracles like nobody's ever seen. Very interesting things to think about and talk to God about.
  12. Faithless.. Do you believe Adam and Eve had actual choice? If not, then you
  13. it's a very good site Dale. you've got a lot of stuff there. thanks for the ministry, keep up the good work. God bless
  14. Thanks for the advice. I was thinking the same thing, but oddly I heard it was good from a Christian friend. I guess i know not to listen to him anymore hehehe
  15. The Da Vinci Code - What is it? I've heard Christians say things here and there about it but I still have no idea what it is. I know it talks about Jesus in there, so I figured it would be like a history book or someone trying to analyze historical events in the bible and writing about it. But then someone told me it was like a dramatic mystery novel or something. Anybody read it? What'd ya think?
  16. I've also heard Hank say that lots of times.
  17. Awesome poem!
  18. ... does your friend believe that God exists?
  19. uhh... what's a pyramid scheme?
  20. I was a vegetarian for a little while. I felt totally healthy and had tons of energy (more than I do when I eat meat) but I got really skinny pretty quick so I eat meat again. It tastes a lot better, but I feel more sluggish during the day. Oh well.
  21. All these TV/radio Christians are being exposed for sins and stuff... who's good to listen to? How do we tell if a ministry is good or not? Is Hank's ministry spreading a lot of love? I listened to the BAM broadcast but it personally got me caught up too much in doctrine and not enough love. I'm not saying it's bad, just that I should probably master the love part first then learn the secondary doctrine. Error on my part. like artsy said, maybe we should all pray for the people at CRI.
  22. I agree with u... I think ur right on track.
  23. great point
  24. I totally agree with you J.J. I believe you summed it up well. The new testament over and over shows people of faith that acted upon it when they had the chance. 1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. So, I don't believe you can have biblically defined saving faith living an unworthy disobedient life, because the disobedient don't really know God, even if they claim to.
  25. I know there are some people out there who have already seen it... does any of them happen to be on this discussion board? If there is, I'd love to hear what you have to say about the movie.
