How I love turning this on ... wound back to 1pm and watched as Jackie ( I think ) returned to the nest but instead of coming in to land on the long branch flew to the branch above the nest then struggled to walk down it so jumped the last foot or so landing almost on top of shadow and scaring quite a few squawks out of him A few hours later and the now normal noisy argument about whose turn it was on the nest ending in a shoving contest Today is the start of the hatching watch

https://www.friendsofbigbearvalley.org/ Wow Todays nest offering ( at 16.10 ) from Jackie wasnt a stick it was a mini tree ..took two of them to get it into place and then a couple of hours of hacking at it whilst sitting on the eggs for her to reduce it and replace it where she wanted it

OH oh the 9am change over didnt just not go well it didnt go at all ... whoever is on the nest and has been all night was NOT getting off and was VERY vocal about it ..perhaps chicks are starting to peck the shell ready to hatch and neither wants to miss it ???

I cant believe it ...only two days before the eggs could start to hatch and its snowing again its like a rerun of last year

Well the change over went very quickly this morning Not really a surprise as there was a thick frost and a high wind and it looks as if there is more snow on the lower areas ,,, I was hoping it was getting warmer for them

They are both spending more time together on the nest and bringing in soft stuff so maybe they are as anxious as we are for these eggs to hatch lol .\ I love the way shadow works hard at redesigning the nest then as soon as he has flown off Jackie puts it all back the way she wants it

I will have to get my grandchildren to teach me how to do those screen shots so I can capture things like that .. I was watching about 8am my time and it was about an hour before they settled down for the night

OOOH trouble in paradise ???? Jackie ( I think from the size and the time ) came back with a lovely fish head and refused to share with shadow telling him to get off her nest and get his own . Did no one tell her sharing is caring ???

well that is unusual ..one parent sat on the eggs for less that 40 mins before flying off and leaving them on their own ( the other ??? parent flew back in under 30 seconds _)b

How can they refuse entry to their own people ????

Wow at 8.08 this morning both parents were at the nest and boy were they agitated ...saw a couple of birds flying lower so dont know if they thought it was a threat but they got my dogs all worked up with the amount of noise they were making too

SOOO sad those dogs were obviously a loved pet at some stage as they show all the submissive trends of a pet and now are roaming the streets A real feral dog would have attacked the cats for food

This is one of the reasons I like the new system we have in most supermarkets where you scan everything as you go ... no more loading unloading repacking and you keep an eye on the total at all times. Our generation was brought up to make do and mend not like the throw away society that is only now coming back around to reuse recycle reduce waste idea

naughty shadow didnt bring jackie any breakfast this morning she had to get off the nest and go catch her own !!!
