  1. Well, my opinion is that the Law of Christ is everything that Christ taught. I believe that Romans 8:2 is talking about freedom FROM sin while we are here. We don;t have to live a sinful, defeated lifestyle. The version of grace that I understand is that we can live a pleasing and holy life TODAY because of the power of the Holy Spirit. When we obey the commands of Christ by faith, we are taught by the Spirit to say no to sin. Now I mean it this time...... GOOD NIGHT!!!!!
  2. And the others you quoted were not Catholic? That is a whole other topic! I don't know when the Catholic church that we know today came into power. Certainly not in the 1st century, right? I don't know. I simply don't know. But I do know that I need to climb in bed now! Talk to you all tomorrow! Oh, and let it be said: I believe that each of you are my brothers and sisters in Christ. I love each of you and hope that we can discuss things as mature Christians and not resort to blasting each other. We all are supposed to be learners, eager to be unified in the love of Christ. Good night, all!
  3. Hey God-Man, did you get my PM from yesterday? Anyways, while it is true that we are not under the Moasic Law, we are under the Law of Christ:
  4. wait. stop. hold on. I have no idea what you mean there. I can see that this is kinda busy with other issues, you can post the meaning of this, if you want to, in "What is Christianity?". or PM me, I don't care, but please explain. Thanks. Hi. I can't explain it, but God can:
  5. I am not sure that I fully agree with this statement. Do you have any scripture for this? I see in 1 John 5 that there is a sin that leads to death and a sin that doens't lead to death. And many other places I read that there is an abomination and a greater abomination.
  6. Amen to that! God wants everybody to be saved! But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits wickedness, his soul shall die. That is still in the Bible, right?
  7. You miss the point. Clement is mentioned in Philippians as being taught by The Apostle Paul directly. He would have a much better understanding of the Gospel than you or I. Nobody taught OSAS-type teachings until just a few hundred years ago. Why is that? You will not find it in the history of the church except for maybe Augustine, but he was a Catholic and taught all kinds of things that you don't believe or hold to being a Protestant. So I must continue to accept that a conditional security was the original teaching handed down by the Apostles themselves.
  8. God-Man: Here is just one: What about: Just gave a few Scripture verses. Verse 27 gives the condition of following and hearing Jesus to be under this promise. He just got through saying that sin leads to spiritual death for a believer in verses 13-14.
  9. Again, everybody seems to miss the main point here. The fact that: 1. Some disagree on this issue 2. The original church did not disagree on this or any issue proves that at some point after the church got started, false teachings came into the church. I challenge anybody to show me any quotes from the early church that taught unconditional security. You won't find it because it is not there. Here are many quotes from the early church about this issue: We could go on and on with quotes like these that prove that the original church believed that one could fall away to eternal condemnation, even after being saved. Read the entire quotes in context if you like: http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/ If you really care to dig deep, read "The Shepherd of Hermas" and you will see it over and over again.
  10. They can't be long periods of time because you would have plants around for a long time before there was a sun and then they would have to wait around for another long period of time before the insects could polinate them. Jesus healed a man born completely unable to walk and the muscles and ballance was there, giving it an appearent, but non-existant age. Why not just read the Bible like it was supposed to be? It is so simple.
  11. It really isn't our place to know if she was saved or not. That is God's territory. If you are asking if people here believe in OSAS or not, you will certainly get a divided opinion. As for me, I believe that OSAS is unbiblical because of several reasons: 1. It is not taught in Scripture, but in man's theology books. 2. Nobody intrepreted the Scriptures to mean OSAS until just a few hundred years ago. 3. We should be focusing on living for the Lord and not attempting to make the Bible say we can live abandon the faith and still remain saved. Some will quote John 10:28 and Romans 8:38-39 and a few other passages, but the entire Bible uses the word "IF" over and over again because there are conditions placed upon our salvation. It basically boils down to faith. What is it? Where does it come from? Can it later on be rejected? While God is faithful to His Word, there is still human responsibility.

    Law/Grace??

While there is some truth to what you say, how far apart do we actually push apart the two? To be honest, adherance to the Law was not what saved anybody, it was still grace through faith under the Moasic Law. The same way the Jews acted out their faith through adherance to the Moasic Law, so we must act out our faith through adherance to the Law of Christ. Everything that Christ taught was part of His Law, which we are under and must obey. That is what faith is--belief acted out of love.
  13. I am going to try to post a picture of my bride and I...
  14. Amen to the Word, maybe! I have no cable or satalite and don't even use the bunny ears. My wife likes to watch American Idol, but other than that, the TV only comes on when we watch a movie (usually a kids cartoon like Finding Nemo, or something similiar), or when I: PLAY NHL 2004 ON THE X-BOX!
  15. I don't watch the Hella-vision anymore. Too much sexual immorality, cursing, homosexual behavior, and impurity. We are called by God to be different. My Bible still says: And to me the most important one of all: I know that television itself is not wicked, but the programming that comes through it is very wicked and has no place in a Christians life. Shut it off and give the money to the church--God can use it to spread the Gospel.
  16. Oh, I guess I should explain why I changed my username----again! dimeministries is an acronym. It stands for: Discipleship Intercession Missions Evangelism Ministries I just joined a Christian church and one of my good friends has a missions website and I thought I would start a discipleship website. I have yet to start it, though! But I do have an email address! jake@dimeministries.org the website will be up some time later, though.
  17. Hey! Me too! Oh, wait, that is me! LOL!!!!
  18. There is nothing as great as carrying Jesus' yoke upon you!
  19. I believe that God created the earth perfect when He said He did. There is no reason to believe in man's theories--they are based upon faulty assumptions and biased research. They start with the question already answered and do the research until they find a mold that fits what they already believe. My Jesus is not the author of death or suffering, He is the author of LIFE. Praise the Lord!
  20. Praise the Lord! Make sure you are baptized and not sprinkled or poured over. Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. How can we be burried with Christ unless we are immersed? Read Romans 6:2-5
  21. Boo-hoo-hoo, nobody cares about me.
  22. God's grace is opportunity to do right. With all that He has done for us, what business to we have to disobey His simple commands to believe and persevere? We need to turn from sin and live a pleasing life before God.
  23. IR: I love you!!! Thanks! I missed MY FAVORITE forum while I was gone. Well, tell everyone I said HI....oh, I just did! :x: Oh, and yes, that is my lovely bride and I on our honeymoon. I joined a new church and love it so much. The people are great and I am going to go to Bible school to enter the ministry someday, Lord willing. I seek unity, not division like I used to. Where is Sagz? Thanks for the great picture!
  24. :t: :il: I love you all!!!!!! I am justjake and endure4salvation. George and I had worked to get this problem with my not being able to post fixed, but I just made a new user ID. George, you can delete the others! I love you all!!! :oww:
