Did Early Christians Dance In Church...?
AllforJesustheLord replied to Marilyn777's topic in General Discussion
Did early Christians dance in church? Was dance ever a part of worship in the apostolic church or throughout the first few centuries? As far as I can tell from my research, dance was not part of worship in the early church. Jewish culture featured dancing at weddings and the Feast of Tabernacles, and of course there are numerous references to David dancing in the Old Testament, but such dancing was spontaneous and celebratory, not liturgical. As a result, early Christians from Jewish backgrounds probably lacked a tradition of dance during formal worship. _______________________________________________________ So those who did those customs probably still did that then, as they believed in Christ. David is of the Melchizedek priesthood, and He did at other times, so that shows other times people can do that. I still believe dancing can be spontaneous, and/or celebratory, and not required, sometimes people refuse to dance, because they refuse The Holy Spirit, and sometimes people dance when they should be doing something else, everything depends on where there heart is, do they truly love God, or are they just going through motions. -
PilgrimSteve's post 8th one dow page 1 I have read the part talking about men having long hair is that what you are refering to. If that is true, then know this The bible in The New Testament in Cor. is talking about men shall not have a covering in the sense of cloth, or something else over there head, and to prove this, Paul states a truth nature, nature says men should have short hair, and women long, now nature is natural, but is not as important as the understanding this is used to say is right. That was used to say covering the head with a cloth, or something else is wrong for a man in praying, and/or prophesying, and for a woman this is right.Yet it is still good for people to go with the natural with there hair, yet not as important as the covering. Where do you get the idea that hair length is not as important any more? Both principles are important. The rebelliousness that is so prevelant in the world is manifesting itself through hair length,(piercings, tattoos -- not this thread please). the more these things occur the closer the end is. LT Well tattos, and smoking, and drinking many times is a form of rebelliousness, but can be alright, yet it is better to have a better witness to people, but we as people are not under what other people say, we are under what God says are His commands, and there is no specific command that prohibits these things, and that I believe also goes for the understanding of what is the natural for men, and women, the hair, yet I do see the importance in that, yet I do not believe it is a must. I think it is mostly good, and right, and that is why Paul used this as an example for people to realize God wants women to cover the hair when praying, or prophecying, and men to not cover the head, and their hair.

Please take a look at my last 6 posts, this explains God's perfect will, and sometimes the reason women also preach, or teach the Good News, the perfect will of God stands strong, God wants men to preach, and teach, and the women are to be in faith working by love in more of a supportive part of faith working by love, then a part that has authority in teachings all of God's Word.
-
Control is authority, and those who are God's servants His apostles should be listened to, and obeyed, they speak the Word's of God, and do His will, and the apostles say, man is to be in charge, and women are to obey, now if a man is disobedient to God, and asks to do things which are wrong, then, they do not have the ability, or the right to control, or have the authority to tell women what to do, but if they are right women should obey, and men also should obey.

No teaching in Christ is semantics they are part of remaining in Him.

Christ is The Word of God, and that Word is in God, and with God, and is God, He is The Father manifested in The Flesh, He is The Spirit with flesh, and bones, God came into flesh, and bones, to complete His plan of salvation. Jesus Said you are Theoi, God, and/or god, and/or god's, all three are right, all three are true, but you have to be able to distinquish how all can be true. If you believe in The original Greek texts you will see in the scriptures Christ rose again physically, His Spirit went back into His body, then He showed Himself to different people. Christ is The Great I am, meaning all things everyone must have He is, and has, that means He is God, and He God in the flesh, even The Very Word which comes out of The Father, and therefore is The Father, The Word is The Son, and is The Word, and is The Father. Christ in you is the hope of glory, we know we receive The Holy Spirit inside of us, and He is Christ, and The Father, and The Holy Spirit, there is One God, and He has manifested Himself in different ways to accomplish His purposes.

I Praise, and thank Jesus Christ, for His mercy, and love.

Are you saying that we have to be sinless to be with God? Because I cant be free of sinning on this earth. I probably stretched the truth today, ergo a lie, got cranky too at someone, and any number of things. And not obedient to Him.....have you ever ignored the leading of the Spirit? I know Im a bit dense and dont always recognize it at the time. Im guessing I was disobedient a time or two. According to your view, where does that leave me? If you are told the Good News, then you must repent, and if you do not, then all those who are not overcomers will go to the lake of fire, and brimstone, this is what Revelation says, and this is one understanding of not inheriting the Kingdom of God.

First thing Women in the Old Testament are not the same as women in the New Testament, different Covenants. So you can discount that understanding. Also before Christ did everything the New Covenant was not in full force, but when there is the death of a testator, then the New Covenant was established, and we are justified by His resurrection. Then even Newer things were added to The scriptures. Daughters of Philip -- Acts 21:9 : I do not remember what happened with them, what did they do. Other scriptures teaching about women in ministry (of some type): : Romans 16:3,6,12 Do all these speak of women in ministry I do not have the scriptures in front of me. Well women can be leaders, or servants, but are not supposed to lead other men, the men are supposed to do that. Now if the men do not do that righteously, then God will use women, yet this is not in His perfect will. Paul was lead by God's Spirit to say women should not take authority over men, men are to have the authority, which is also what Jesus Set up, by having 12 apostles that were men. Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:34, 35 talks of women keeping silent in the church, and to not ask questions in the church, that says women, that means women, that means women if they want to be righteous should obey this scripture. Now if I can remember what else is said in the scripture. I think the scripture goes something like this, or are you alone the ones who know God's Word. There can be two understandings of this, but trying One understanding is more correct then the other one. I would lean to the understanding of do you not truly believe this is His Word, or do you think you know God's Word more then us. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. This is true we are all one, but the Jew did things more so in the way of obeying the Laws of Moses, and the Greeks had there customs, the bond were slaves, and did what they were told to do, hopefully as long as this did not go against God, the free were free, and did what they did, the males had different things they did then the female, and vice versa. Yes, we are still one in Christ, but we do different things, the things which are our callings. PHOEBE (Verses 1-2), PRISCILLA (V 3-5), MARY, TRYPHENA, TRYPHOSA, PERSIS, AND JULIA (Verses 6-15) ARE MENTIONED AS LABORERS IN THE LORD 8) In Philippians Chapter 4 verse 2, EUODIAS AND SYNTYCHE ARE MENTIONED AS BEING LEADERS OF THE CHURCH AT PHILIPPI. 9) CORINTHIAN WOMEN PROPHESIED. They can be laborers by doing other things then preaching, and teaching The Word of God, they were called to bring people to the men in charge, and if some men did not understand that, then they would have them teach other men. Being leaders in the church can be done in different ways, and not just by teaching the Word of God. If Corinthian women prophesied, and they most likely did, they were to do this not in the church, God would let the men know what needed to be done, for instance when Paul was around He would do this, and other men would do this, and women would not prophecy, because God is not a God of confusion, but of order, so women can prophecy more specifically to those who do not know God, or are not following God, but that is only when a man is not around to do that. God will choose the men to be in control, unless they are evil. God's will is for men to be in control, but sometimes they do not fullfill what they are supposed to.

Is There a Doctor or Nurse in the House?
AllforJesustheLord replied to Catsmeow's topic in General Discussion
Are you going to think about getting your ovaries removed then? I want to ask what your name is so I can pray with your name, instead of Catsmeow. The Doctors do not know what it is yet, or do they? -
When we develop a heart that is having faith in Christ, and following Him in faith, then we experience hard times, but when we let patience have her perfect work, we develop fellowship, with God, and we first go through pain, but this is the pain that makes us whole, and when we are made whole, we have the yoke of Christ, and we are truly blessed. So once we have done all to stand, stand. This is the blessing of God upon you.
-
Go ahead and do as you feel God's Spirit is leading you to, I am not angry at you, I thank you for participating, and being open to God's Spirit, your servant.
-
The info is correct, that which is in the scriptures is for today, and women should not be leading men. Men should be righteous, and lead women correctly.

Which one the last one, or the second to last one.

Oops your right, I was thinking of the other one that is slow. Tai chi. Ya if people are careful for the reasons they do this, and if God personally lets them, then this can be alright, as long as they are not doing this out of what God wants for them. Well praise God, I hope people are starting to lighten up, and not be so judgemental, I think that is happening abit right now. If not tell me, and I can repent and ask for forgiveness again. This is the bottom line. The question I pose is where is there a spiritual principle to learn the ways of the heathen religions and where do we find God wanting this for us? Yoga in its essence is A RELIGION. Do we take the good things about paganism and apply adopt them for their "BENIFITS." LT The question I pose is where is there a spiritual principle to learn the ways of the heathen religions and where do we find God wanting this for us? Yoga in its essence is A RELIGION. Do we take the good things about paganism and apply adopt them for their "BENIFITS." Yes, but in eternal life of the New Testment we do not need to worry about the things in many case they had to worry about. If people do something to help them to have more self control which is a fruit of The Holy Spirit, and if God makes it so they will not get some evil spirit for doing whatever, then they are safe, it is not a religion in the sense of taking Budism out of the picture, if that is taken out, or whatever else, then we can understand to the pure all things are pure. Now the scriptures also say, if we are lead by The Spirit of God then are we the sons of God, this is a living relationship, which God speaks, and lets us know what He wants, some individuals are at different places so they have faith for things, that others do not have faith for. Now just because someone does not have faith for something, that does not mean they have less faith rather it can also mean they are being lead by God's Holy Spirit in a different way, so they may escape the corruption in the world, and partake of His divine nature, so also for those who do have faith for doing different things. Yet also this can mean someone has more of God's Holy Spirit then someone else yet this is not always the case. We need to listen to God, and obey Him, and for some people God has them do different things. An example some people do different customs then other people.

Jesus is our salvation, but if we are not obedient to him, then people are not fully saved, and they will not inherit the kingdom of God. Which means according to scripture they will go to the lake of fire and brimstone, those who are not overcomers, or who do not truly serve God.

I agree, I believe God honors them that honor Him. In light of this verse

I only know of three, maybe four churches that do this, The Spanish Oneness church, the Nazarene church, the catholic church for the women who go into there order higher, and the orthodox church I think does this but I could be wrong.

Well the purpose is to teach you to have self control, but yet the underlining factor is it is a martial art that does teach someone how to fight in that way, some may not understand the physical movements are fighting movements, but they are.
-
Even if someone is protected from the spiritual part of bad spirits, they also have to consider the purpose also is to fight, this shows people how to fight, only those who know this martial art alot understand something like that though. Anything that teaches us to fight teaches us to go away from God, and rely upon ourselves, instead of God. Yet if the can find that they will not let people see them training to fight, so as to not go against Christ, if they can do that, and if they can only use this as a form of exercise this can be alright, personally I do not know how the spiritual part of it can be separated from it, yet all things are possible with God. So my personal conviction is people should be careful with what they do, and participate in, yet to the pure all things are pure.
