That one had me rolling!

Thanks for the info. I was just curious...

I've never heard that point made before. Interesting. When you hear Intelligent Design you never think aliens, but I guess technically SETI is researching extraterrestrial ID. But for what it's worth, I don't think a simple repeating radio signal would convince me of extraterrestrial life. Stars belch out all kinds of stuff, so I think the signal would have to be both complex and repeating to be indicative of any kind of intelligence. It's all noise. That's why if they do hear a repeating patterned signal, they will know that it came from an intelligent source.

There is nothing "simple" about the 4 letter nucleotide DNA code. Even the simplest known living organism has 482 protein-coding genes. This is a total of 580,000

"Did He use His God hands? Or did he have some big Tonka toy trucks to help?" Hmmmmm....my mistake. I know it when I see it.....sweetie. I wasn't there when He did it. But it's obvious that He did it. Nope. I don't demand every single answer (unlike atheists). I just want the answers to two questions. How did the universe create itself from nothing by nothing, and how did life and information arise from dead matter. And you provided no answers to either. And the funny thing is, when a Christian cannot answer an atheists question, but say that they may have the answer in the future, they are raked over the coals as having a "pie in the sky, bye and bye" attitude. The latest? Encoded information has been a problem for evolutionists since DNA was discovered. Creationist shills? Ahhhh the insults again. I learned what I know from a simple high school education. But even a dolt with next to no education can tell you even simple common sense says that you can't get something from nothing, and that encoded information is a sign of intelligence. I'm sorry, but that had to be the most intellectually dishonest thing I have heard you say so far. The information in DNA is so far from simple it is beyond imagination. As I have already pointed out, the encoded information just in a "simple" bacterium contains as much code for a 1000 page book. And I see you have totally ignored what I've said about SETI and one simple repeatable signal as a sure sign of intelligence.

BTW, I also challenge every "progressive" to read these, too. Why would any liberal, or any objective individual at all want to read the rants of people like Savage or Coulter? Thats like saying: "I challenge anyone to open their mind and read Mine Kampf." Unless your a psych major and are looking to profile sociopaths, then what would one possibly get out of such garbage. Amazing. Liberals are are the same. If anyone disagrees with them, they are "ranting." And they sure do love to pull "Hitler" out of the bag to compare conservatives to. But what do you expect when they have such scholars as Al Franken, who write such wonderful books as: "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations." And Michael Moore who said the passengers on the planes on 11 September were scaredy-cats because they were mostly white. "If the passengers had included black men," he claimed, "those killers, with their puny bodies and unimpressive small knives, would have been crushed by the dudes, who as we all know take no disrespect from anybody. ..." Wow. But I'm not defending Coulter, who has said some pretty dumb things in the past. But my point is, conservative writers are not all "ranting" when they document liberal hypocrisy and anti-American views.

The ones I've noticed just today are "CausticAgnostic," "joewildhunter," "WordofTruth," "faithfulwitness," and "starinhand." It will say "banned" under their nick next to "Group"

Is it just me, or are a lot of people getting banned lately??? Is this a housecleaning or something?

Jews demand right to pray on Temple Mount
kari21 replied to eve's topic in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
That is so stupid! The Temple Mount belongs to the Jews! They have authority over it! I am so sick of the rest of the world kissing the Islamic hand through fear of "what they will do." Well, THEY'RE GONNA DO IT ANYWAY, DESPITE OF ALL THE BOWING AND SCRAPING FROM THE REST OF THE WORLD! -
Oh? Your answer to 'how did the universe create itself from nothing naturalistically' was, "I don't know." You answer to 'where did the encoded information in the first primitive cell come from' was, "evolution does not explain how the first living cell came about." Sounds to me like your foundations are gone. Nope, the foundations are still here. It strikes me that I have to provide specific details about how the first primitive cell formed several billions of years ago to satisfy you. Yet, you can simply say "Goddidit" just a few thousand years ago and that is supposed to satisfy me. Essplen to me plese Loooocy, exactly how He did it. Should be easy, you have the Bible and it happened not too long ago---just a few thousand, not billion, years ago. Did He use His God hands? Or did he have some big Tonka toy trucks to help? I'm really not trying to be snotty or condescending, but how come you look to science for specific details and when the details are unavailable you discount everything else in the theory's spectrum, yet, you are willing to overlook the same lack of detail on your favorite story? Why is that? You know one of the signs one is losing a debate? When one starts taunting the other. Jukia, you gave no valuable details on how the first living cell came about from dead matter. None. I quoted you correctly when you said: "evolution does not explain how the first living cell came about." Order and complexity are two very different things. You have no idea where the massive amount of information in the cell came from. As any scientist knows, information does not originate from the material that carries it. The message is independent of the material it is written on. All evidence indicates that it takes intelligence to devise letters or code, and arrange them into instructions. And it is indeed real information. It has been copied onto computers in the Human Genome Project and printed out on paper. Heck, every scientist knows that a code is the sign of intelligent life. Scientists with the SETI (Search For Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) institute use huge radio telescopes in the hopes of catching ONE signal from space that is not random noise. If they hear just ONE brief signal with a repeatable pattern, they will KNOW intelligent life exists somewhere else in the universe. And that's only one brief signal! Not the MASSIVE amounts of repeatable code in one human cell! Heck, the DNA of a simple bacterium contains as much information as a 1000 page book! Jukia - encoded information in the cells of all living things is the death knell of evolution. Combine that with the knowledge that the entire universe could not have created itself from nothing, by nothing, and the evolutionary coffin is in the ground. The reason people accept the evolutionary theory is that it takes God out of the picture, and out of their lives. They are free to sin as they please without guilt - without conscience - and that is very appealing to the unregenerated lost. Your brief life will end, Jukia. Sooner or later. And you will come face to face with the very God that you deny. And that God will send you to the very hell that you have chosen. You won't be able to bluff past him with psudeo-science or claims that you are a "good" person. Ignorance is no excuse in human law, and it's not with Godly law either. Wake up before you set your eternity in stone.

I think Dr. Jonathan Sarfati, B.Sc. (Hons.), Ph.D., (in Chemistry ) answered this the best: You are failing to distinguish between order and complexity. Crystals are ordered; life is complex. To illustrate: a periodic (repeating) signal, e.g. ABABABABABAB, is an example of order. However, it carries little information: only

You are correct, evolution does not explain how the first living cell came about. Evolution does not attempt to do so. The rest of your post is therefor a strawman. Jukia, you don't think it's odd that I keep pulling out the foundations of the theory you hold so dear, and yet you refuse to give it up?

I find it so amazing that when US deaths are way low in Iraq, the media doesn't report squat! Get this, there were 38 US soldier deaths in the country of Iraq in October, and in that same month in our own country (America) there were 1400 people murdered!

As a Christian, you should read "Godless: The Church of Liberalism" by Ann Coulter. It's awesome...and scary as well.

Try the NASB. Very accurate and not hard to read at all.

No. But I believe that is the most important. A sinner must be shown that they indeed are one. That their sins are an offense to God, deserving of His holy wrath. Most people that I've witnessed to believe that they are actually "good" people and that their good deeds will outweigh their bad, earning them heaven. The Law shows them that they are filthy, guilty, and on their way to a much deserved hell. You have to show them the danger of their position, and just how they look in God's sight. Only when they see their own wretchedness, and the danger of oncoming damnation, will they cry out to God for his forgivness and mercy. There are way too many people who believe that one quick "sinners prayer" without true conviction or true repentance will be their "get out of hell free card." And that God is begging them to come to Him. As if God needs them instead of the other way around.
-
To be honest, it's really not my concern then. I have planted the seed, and the Holy Spirit will bring the conviction. You must remember, it is NEVER us doing the convicting and saving - it is God alone. If one rejects what you have said, the Bible says to "shake the dust from your feet" and to move on. I kinda figured you would say that. The fact is not all people were saved from John 3:16, but some were saved from, John 14:6. Others were saved from John 6:53-57. We must present the Christ that a paticular individual needs. Some may need to see the Law, but not all. But if this is all that we present when we witness then we are surely misrepresenting Christ. How do we present Christ the Righteous Judge to an African girl who was kidnapped and forced into prostitution? Is this truely how He wants to reveal Himself to that person. We should be ready not with a script but Life. They need the Christ that meets thier needs. Then if one rejects after we have properly given them the Christ that they needed, we then "shake the dust from our feet". I kinda figured you would say that. I believe that God is wise enough to send the perfect person to witness to an individual. One person may need to hear about Christ's love, others will respond to seeing how they look in God's eyes through the Law.

That's funny...you are doing that very thing on the "catching away" thread in regard to God hating people. What the Scriptures say do not fit your preconceived position, so you just IGNORE them.
